I can see a concern here. I read a story a while back about some foreign military guys that were spied on and tracked with their location movements from Geocaching. If I remember correctly the opposing country had a list of who these men were and was able to see where they were at that moment. I do not see an issue with Geocaching having a feature to hide your finds from public viewers. It would be an easy thing to do and give people peace of mind. It is kind of foolish to tell someone if they want privacy to stay off the internet.
