  1. My wife isn't in to caching the way I am , but, she certainly seems to know how to do it. She hid my gift in a neighbors yard and made me go find it! She even got the coords right . Was great fun. I think that for my daughters birthday, we are gonna set up a mini multicache for her presents! Whadda ya think? I can go anywhere!! ... (if my wife lets me)
  2. I use JASC paint Shop Pro 7.04 for the ones I post to my web site. (just a quick site to test my CSS skills). If you have this program: Open the photo you want to optimize, Click on "File > Save as", CHANGE THE NAME in the dialog box (unless you don't mind losing the original), Down in the lower right corner, click on "Options", Another box opens and will have an "Optimize" button. Click it. In the new window that pops up will be two thumbnail portions of your photo. The one on the left is un-optimized, on the right the optimized. In the middle of the box will be a small sliding scale and a small dropdown with numbers in it. Use this to determine the amount of optimization. Also, under the two thumbnails will be their respective sizes in bytes, allow the right one to change as you change the slider. Pick your best optimization and click OK and then save. Voila! I used this to lower the amount of space I was using (12MB) to less than 6MB. I am only allowed 10MB from ATTBI. You can see my test page at http://home.attbi.com/~cdirto . Some of the pictures started out at 2.5MB and all are now less than 256Kb. If you don't have this program, you can go online to http://www.jpegwizard.com/ and do it all online for free. 3. quote:Again, welcome to Geocaching. Try to ignore the nuts. Mike. Desert_Warrior (aka KD9KC). El Paso, Texas. Citizens of this land may own guns. Not to threaten their neighbors, but to ensure themselves of liberty and freedom. They are not assault weapons anymore... they are HOMELAND DEFENSE WEAPONS! Nuts!? You said NUTS!? I'm not crazy, everyone else is. Now where did I park my spaceship...? I can go anywhere!! ... (if my wife lets me)

Didn't your mother ever tell you that the best thing is to break even on withholding at the end of the year and the second-best thing is to owe money? Do you like giving interest-free loans to the IRS? Of course, it's possible to overdo the "owing money" thing. The IRS doesn't like it if you do that too many years in a row, because they don't get the free money they've come to expect from you. So don't overdo it, or you'll end up paying in quarterly installments (which is still better than loaning $1500 of _your own money_ to Uncle Sam for a year.) http://216.202.195.127/warm.gif Try jumping a tax bracket! Between my wife and I this year we jumped a tax bracket, and for the first time in 17 years of marriage, we owe BIG-TIME! I have been able to go tax-exempt for up to 6 months out of the year and still get a little back. Tried it this year for just 4 months and I owe $2500! OUCH!!! I am gonna hafta rethink this for this year! I can go anywhere!! ... (if my wife lets me)

I guess you wern't there that 1 % of the time, when they missed. gm100guy http://members.rogers.com/gm100guy/cachepage.htm Actually, The prison was being built as the Warthogs were being rolled out and at the time, most of the flights we were able to watch, were new trainees, so daytime runs only for them. Some of the people I know from Nellis AFB were the mechanics and trainers for these aircraft and pilots. The trainers continually were getting mad at the trainees (and let me clarify, these were experienced pilots, just learning a new way to drop ordanance) because they would continually grab at the stick while the computer was trying to do its job of fly and drop. Even a light touch on the stick at that time would cause a miss. And as we all know, a miss is as good as a mile. Of course, I have to agree with some of the other posts. At this time, I would stay away from any base that might be on heightened alert. Better safe than sorry. I am sure after an explanation, they would leave you alone, but, what if they decided to drag in first!? (doubt it, but, you never know!) I can go anywhere!! ... (if my wife lets me)
  6. I personally can't stand this show, however last nite I kinda got forced into watching it. (My wife said I was spending to much time on the 'net, doncha know!) Basically, the device that you were seeing was descibed as a locator for children, so their parents would know where they were at any time. Nothing more than a twist on the ankle units worn by house arrest persons. It was very obnoxious in how it was displayed. It transmitted to the company who placed the info on their website and the parents could pull up the site and track their kids every move. The locator blip on the screen (looked to be about a 17" mac laptop) was about 6" in diameter! That would drive me nuts in about 3 seconds! I look at it this way -- BIG BROTHER HAS COME HOME! I can go anywhere!! ... (if my wife lets me)
  7. I thought I would add this also. The Apache helicopter is manufactured in Mesa, AZ which is where I lived (for 10 years) prior to moving to Colorado in 2001. While I was in Mesa I drove a 40' end dump truck and while heading out to Fort McDowell indian reservation to pick up granite for a delivery, it was not uncommon to have an Apache popup out of an arroyo just 200' from the road. The road was above the helicopter and you could see the pilots plain as day! Every Apache that comes out of the plant there gets a minumum of 25 hours of flight testing before it is actually released to the military. Watching these guys manuever (spelling?) was just as awesome as the Warthogs and Abrams! They would play hide & seek out over the reservation and While out at the FM granite pit, they even had one set down for an emergency landing. Of course the MPs showed up in about 10 minutes, but they would allow you to get within 20' or so and inspect the outside of the helicopter. It took the recovery truck almost 2 hours to arrive! That was COOL! Corrected speellin I can go anywhere!! ... (if my wife lets me) [This message was edited by CdirtO on February 12, 2003 at 08:10 AM.]
  8. Actually, I think they were probably in a blackhawk if they were MP's. Apaches are 2 seaters and nowhere near wide enough to allow for them to move for a minute or two after they had landed. As for the feeling the concussion, I am from Las Vegas, NV originally, and we used to drive out to the test range dry lake when they were running live fire exercises for tanks and the Warthog (A-10) atack planes. From over a mile away, you could feel the concussion and the the sound was unbelievable! The accuracy of the Abrams tanks and the Warthogs are out of this world! I helped build the minmum security prison that is across the highway (2 miles) from the range, and the Warthogs would fly over us and drop their ordanance and hit the targets 99% of the time! It is truly an awesome spectacle! I can go anywhere!! ... (if my wife lets me)
  9. Just so that you are all aware. Some people checked into those commercials, and it seems that every single person involved in the making of those commercials, INCLUDING the money man, ALL OWN SUVs!!! This information was buried under the rug, but it is now known to be TRUE! Two of the people own Ford Excursions! And to top it all off, the money man own approximately 36 vehicles, 3 of which are SUVs! I will try to locate the write up done in our newspaper and get it here. Supporting terrorists, Bulls**t! I have 4 kids! I can go anywhere!! ... (if my wife lets me)
  10. I was just on the Garmin site and I cannot find a link to the version 3.01 beta upgrade. Can anyone post a link to the download. I have put all the other upgrades in my legend and have had no problems. Of course, the waypoints do go away, but I don't consider that a problem as I have them all on floppy and in my laptop, too. Just a matter of seconds to replace! Thanks in advance! Ya'll never mind! I just located it! Thanks again, anyway! I can go anywhere!! ... (if my wife lets me)
