  1. Just wondering how you converted the numbers for future reference. I'm sure there is some wonderful automatic converter somewhere. Just wondering if there was a way to figure it out without Thanks for your help
  2. Thanks so much for the help. How do you figure out how to convert the given coordinates?
  3. on the map you have shown, compared to the map I looked at through Google Earth, Kilwins is below (behind) the Large building marked #2. If I could figure out how to add an image I could show you...I'm still trying The coordinates I get are 28 19'03.53"N 81 32'22.74"W which I am not sure how to convert to a format to use with my magellan. Also was hoping for an accurate reading so that it is pretty obvious where the kids should go. Thanks so far....
  4. Hello We are planning a Disney/Geocaching trip to Florida at the end of August and as part of this trip, I am trying to plan a "GPS" treasure hunt for my kids. Was wondering if anyone can give me the coordinates for the Kilwins ice cream shop at 671 Front Street Celebration FL 34747. I tried to figure it out with Google Earth but I'm a beginner... Thanks for your help.
  5. I was not asking about anything, I was certainly just mentioning an interest and responding to someone that had a like interest...and I do understand that an actual "Cache" can not be placed at Disney World, however, I was unaware that "virtual caches" were no longer allowed to be created or listed on geocaching.com since I am a new to this hobby. Since I saw them posted by others, I guessed them to be ok. I have since looked at ALL the rules and understand them completely I am certain that the moderator is a fine person, however, a more appropriate answer could have could have been "hey...we already thought of that and you can find it here.....The moderator should have known that I am new and should have been more welcoming. I didn't need to be scolded. Besides, i feel that a virtual cache would still be more fun than Waymarking. There is no challenge to getting your picture taken next to an icon and posting it for the world to see Intersting? yes, challenging, probably not. Something to figure out as a challenge puzzle as well as finding the coordinates are one of the reasons that my children became interested in this hobby. They love the hunt and the adventure and isn't that what this is all about? Heaven forbid that we are taking two things that we enjoy, disney and geocaching and trying to make our vacation a more memorable & educational event. Alot of people who vacation at Disney do not have transportation to go outside of the resort area to find geocaches and would enjoy the challenge of a virtual as evidenced by the virtuals that already exist for each park.
  6. "Your cache would not be published, and would just become more geo-litter." What is litter to one person is treasure to another. Sorry to have upset you so much. thanks for the warm welcome
  7. We are planning a trip in August /September 2007 and I have also been looking for ideas. We are thinking of creating a "cache" of hidden mickeys/trivia/unusual or overlooked spots in and around the World. We have been there a few times and now look for other things to do than take pictures of the same old stuff. BTW we are in Elma, NY
