  1. Golly, I'm a noob here, and I guess I'm just an old fashioned guy, but I sure don't understand the desire to grab a bunch of easy finds just to log a lot of numbers in one day. To me it's sort of like getting a team of fishermen to run out on the lake and come back saying we cought 75 bass today between us and they average about a pound each. I would much rather hunt down 2 or 3 real challenging caches in a day by myself. That would give me a lot more pride of accomplishment. Sort of likre coming back to the Dock with 2 big "Whoppers" in my cooler instead of a bunch of minnows. Am I all alone here?
  2. Sirrooker, What a beautiful picture of your dog! Can you tell me the name of his/her breed? We just recently were adopted by a stray dog that could be a twin of yours. I just assumed she was a mixed breed, but seeing another almost identical makes me think they are a specific breed. She is the most wonderful dog I have ever had.
  3. If it's a personalized signature item... Quite a few people would want to find it. So Are you saying that my soggy old left over matchbbooks from my wedding may be a sought after item? Why? I don't even want them, and I wouldn't think of putting such junk into a cache. But I an a brand new NOOB and maybe I am missing the point of this game. To me it is all about the fun of the hunt. Just a log book is enough reward. Why would I want some soggy crap spmebody else didn't want?
  4. Hooah75, I'm new here also. But aside from the controversy, think about this ..... How excited would you be to find a leftover matchbook from MY wedding?
  5. I'm a brand NOOB to geocaching (one week, 4 finds). Today I found a cache with 2 small clear unlabled bottles with an unknown liquid inside. What is the proper thing to do. There was no mention of them in the log, so I just left them. How should I report this? Do I log the find or notify Groundspeak first. Should the cache be archived/disabled or what? I tried calling Groundspeak phone # and left a message. I also sent a ticket to the help desk. So far no response. I'm not going to log it untill I get some guidance.
  6. I just use the "Trail Name" I picked up when I hike the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Vermont. While I was stopped at Fontana Dam in NC, I ate a whole rack of spareribs at the restaurant there and left a pile of bones.
