  1. Don't feel bad. Bugs aren't trade items. As long as you move them on to a new cache (and don't have them accumulating on your dresser) you are doing just what the bug owner wants you to do.
  2. I'm seriously interested in where you draw the line. Drop the cache down to the people below who won't climb. Take the cache over to those who won't get out of the car.
  3. Just to make sure I'm clear... If you climb the tree, retrieve the cache, and take it to an event for everyone there to sign.... you don't think the cache owner can delete the logs.
  4. So a terrain 4 cache requires a valid find to be made by someone actually climbing the tree, instead of having the cache thrown down to the ground for the rest of the group to sign? Doesn't sound like an ALR any more than the requirement that the cache not be taken to the next event to have everyone there sign it.
  5. I'd like to hear from someone who didn't want to stop every 528 feet but couldn't stand the idea of driving by 1000 caches. How often did he stop?
  6. If it is truly a "route" (<rte> with <rtept>s) and not caches along a route, GSAK won't handle it. I use EasyGPS to send routes to my older Garmin.
  7. I'm guessing he felt under continuing pressure by those who had problems that he couldn't resolve in a timely manner. A number of people have been unable to upload their data. (I had occasional problems where the upload would fail with no message. Later attempts would eventually work.) And then I'm sure there were issues of caches being listed in the wrong county (especially in Virginia.) Probably one less headache to just shut down the site. I sympathize, even though I lost my favorite map (US counties with caches found.) (Edited to add: I've been told of http://counties.visitedmap.com/ which looks like it will allow me to generate my map of the US with finds by county.)
  8. Dave- Thanks for all the work you've done on INATN. It was the maps on your site that made me think "I bet I could find a cache in every county in Indiana." I'm not aware of anyone else who has a finds by county for the US map. And so far I haven't seen anyone with the state maps with county labels like you had. But I guess nothing lasts forever and I'll need to seek other solutions.
  9. I actually think it would be funny to see a thousand e-mails for new caches flood in. But then I don't have any difficulty deleting a lot of e-mails with a few keystrokes so I may not experience the pain of others.
  10. Did it come from Nigeria with the requirement that you send bank details?
  11. 27 or 28. I've done it 3 times, I think. I don't set out to go for numbers... sometimes it just happens.
  12. Would like it. Understand it is unlikely to happen. Am dealing with how things are and will likely stay.
  13. An "as of" date/time on that display would have made that clear.
  14. Posts: 11 Maybe it is already there and you don't know it because you need another 239 posts.
  15. I did delete a PQ that had never run. But a PQ that had run more than 24 hours ago (that should have disappeared) remains just as Matt says. But I'm sure this is just a "burp" that will get straightened out soon.
  16. Wow. I have 195 PQs now. But I've already run 10 today...so I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to run another. Glad to see they raised the limit on PQs to at least 200.
  17. Thank you, Moun10Bike, for following this to the end. I guess I should have mentioned that I have been using "include PQ name" since that was a problem in some initial downloading when this feature became available.
  18. Under my beejay&esskay account, I just ran PQ Nearby updated last : 7 days Resulted in 68 caches. The download failed. (I have 100% failure rate on downloading PQs with a colon in the name.) Feel free to reset and rerun and try the download. (The extra e-mails of PQs for any testing won't bother me.)
  19. I am. If you can rename a PQ that has given you trouble back to a name containing a colon and get the download to fail again, please let me know here. I can then spoof your login and see if I get the same issue on this side. Then I would ask that you leave that particular PQ alone while we investigate what is going on with it. In the meantime, I can reset your PQs - just let me know which ones to target. Thanks! (1000) 100 mile: 29 I just ran this (output less than 500) and got the download failure. Firefox 3.6.3. I did this under a different account. I'd rather send that account ID to you directly and not post here. (Every one of my : PQs failed to download in that account several days ago.)
  20. I'd love to experiment...but I lose a download every time it fails. The only times I lose a download is when I have a special character...so I'll just stay away from them and hope someone else can find the bug. (I guess I could offer to let you sign onto my other account and try to download a PQ I changed back to have a : in the name....but I don't know if you are THAT interested in pursuing this.)
  21. We know it fails with : and / It works with ( or ) I think some one has reported variable results for - (I left the period off the end of sentence above to try not to confuse.) It is, of course, a bug. We don't know if TPTB have noticed this or if they think it is important to fix. I went through all my PQs with : (even though they are e-mailed) and changed them to meet the current requirements for downloads to work.
  22. I don't understand what that means. Loaded the same file into Mapsource and got different results? Or....
  23. What's the name of the PQ? (I have had this when I had a colon in the name. I suspect "special" characters cause this.)
  24. My new PQ ran at 8:58 PDT. This is much slower than a new PQ would normally run.
