If you're gluing a magnet to the outside, whatever method you use, glue another magnet, in the same manner, to the inside of the container to hold it in place. Neodynium magnets are the best small magnets.

mini cans of WD-40 zip ties mini gel pens sharpie markers a CITO "kit" - plastic bag rolled tightly in a 35mm film canister eyeglass repair kit I bought a 2' square piece of automotive headlight protector (semi-adhesive plastic sheeting) for $20. I cut a 3" small piece off of it to use as a screen protector. I'm thinking of cutting the remnant into a lot of small pieces and leaving them as swag with directions for use.

I am completely unfamiliar with the intricacies of minting geocoins, and I'm looking to the collective wisdom of all you coinheads. I'd like to know the specifics of creating a geocoin for a game/event. How much does it cost? What are the "up front" costs? Is there a way to reduce the up-front costs? What's the best way to handle distribution? What's the best way to handle "special" distribution (awarding/selling coins to "winners")? Can anyone recommend a geocacher and or coin company who might like to handle minting and/or distribution of this particular game/event coin? If this topic has already been discussed, please Markwell me. I searched, but didn't find anything relevant.

Two weeks to go in this contest! The latest national polls I've seen have McCain ahead by anywhere from 1% to 4%. Some estimates have Obama leading in the electoral vote, winning 19 states (west coast, northeast, and northern midwest).

Would extra circular activity be like thinking outside the box?

Check out this blog entry about "public prediction markets" (basically betting websites, using real and virtual money) and how the wisdom of the intertubes is being polled. Looks like most of the public prediction sites give Obama about a 60% chance of winning at this point.
