  1. Okay, looks like I found the problem. I already had code in the OnStart() method of my cardridge. This obviously is a bit buggy. Now that I removed it it works. Hope this helps anyone! Dave
  2. Yes I tried this several times and got still the same problem so I guess something else must be wrong. :-(
  3. Hello together, I just created my first Wherigo cache. I uploaded it to the website but when I tried to download it I got an error message: Error During Upload System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: Server was unable to process request. ---> Exception of type 'System.ApplicationException' was thrown. at System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapHttpClientProtocol.ReadResponse(SoapClientMessage message, WebResponse response, Stream responseStream, Boolean asyncCall) at System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapHttpClientProtocol.Invoke(String methodName, Object[] parameters) at Wherigo.GSPCartridgeService.CartridgeService.GetCompiledCartridgeWithMetaData(GWZMetaData gwzMetaData, String CartridgeFileName, String CartridgeId, Int64 PlayerId, String PlayerName, DeviceType deviceType, String CompletionCode) at cartridge_download.btnDownload_Click(Object sender, EventArgs e) It works perfectly fine with other cartridges so what could be my problem here? I was using Urwigo to make this cartridge and tried to build the UTF-8 and the "default encoding" package for uploading it. Has anyone any idea what could be wrong here? The link to the cache is: http://www.Wherigo.com/cartridge/details.aspx?CGUID=d2a4e257-1902-4994-a030-3a7e78bdd360 Thank you very much, David Greenwitch
  4. Thank you all for your help. Well, my plan was that the player is playing the "game" only once and has to make certain decisions. So even though I'm sure some may play the game more than once just to get the other log I think it would fit to keep it as a single one. After all, it would be interesting to read (in the logs) which way they went instead of reading they made all of them to log even more caches. I believe the game might lose a bit of its story if the focus would be too much on the logging side. So I guess I will do it this way. Even though this leads me to another question: Is the rule of 0,1 mi distance to the next physical cache necessary for my own waypoints? I saw some great locations for the finals which also would be great to keep them somehow closer together. All of them would be far enough from others but probably not from each other. So hopefully I can make Wherigo caches a bit more famous in my area. Only four of them are here! :-( Thanks, Dave
  5. Ah, thank you! Okay. So then everyone logs to the same cache instead of three different ones. Okay, would be an option. And for the form which asks me for the "final location" I just chose one of them?
  6. About the numbers I found a nice statistic about this (even though it is in German): http://www.das-Wherigo-handbuch.de/index.php?title=Statistiken_zu_Wherigo-Caches
  7. Hello everyone, I recently started making my own geocaches and now I discovered the Wherigo cache type. So I made my own but the story is a bit more complex and has three different endings. Each of them has an own log depending on which story line you go. When I register my cache it says: "Please enter the coordinates of the final location" so it wants the final coordinates of only one cache. How can I connect the three of them? Should I make three different (mystery) caches and write in the description that you need to play the related Wherigo cache? Or shall I set the three coordinates as waypoints in my Wherigo cache? Hopefully someone here has an idea for me. Thank you very much, Tobias
  8. Hello everyone, I'm new to all this. I have some experience in Geocaching but today I found that "WhereYouGo" idea. And it caught me. I want to try to make one myself. The official builder doesn't work for me so I tried this URWIGO builder. It is great and I guess I can do a lot with it. But I'm still looking for a good tutorial. Still I need to understand how to make dialogs etc. Does anyone know a good tutorial for some basic features? For example, is it possible to show characters on the map? I realized how to "put" them into a zone but I didn't see any way to put them directly on the map as a character-icon. I hope someone may help me here a bit. I'd love to make a WhereYouGo cache. Thanke you very much, Tobias
