  1. I am the outgoing Treasurer of the NY NJ Trail Conference, a Yankee, Midwesterner and now a Mid Atlanticer since I now reside in Vienna Virginia. All my best to label makers; I do not consider myself an exclusive member to any specific group but take the best attributes from them,
  2. If memory serves me correctly, I did a dam trolls cache in Virginia, that was pretty cleverly hid. They are ingenious. Kept me busy for hours. I'll be in DC this weekend! I got to try Rehoboth this summer, too... I see you had a Geo Get together at Cape Henelopen, I know people who live there too! Sally Jo and Sam ring a bell? Congratulations on 600.
  3. I found an assignation station in my visit of today's Hackensack Sanctuary Cache, I see some other Geo People had similar visits. What's up with that? Should we post warnings on our cache's now for the family members? Food for thought.
  4. Friend's like you guy's help our Ego! Tim AND the Bear! THANKS ! hope to run into some of youze CONGRATS TO ETOAST66 ON 100!!!! [This message was edited by Tim M CPA on April 11, 2003 at 08:24 PM.]
  5. quote:Originally posted by Tim M CPA:But perhaps I was on to something more by mention of the comments from the thread here who may have done the double counting deed. I need that sentence explained to me; it gave me a headache. It says: Some people made observations regarding potential double counting. They mentioned them, here, in this thread. This is in addition to my initial inquiry/observation. The whole issue is a discussion point, not an accusation to anyone specifically. Keep it light.

    Ticks

I found one on my back chomping on a mole! Got it out and its baby further down. Went to doc and started blood test for lyme. I think it got on my knapsack when I put it on the ground. Be careful with your stuff when you rest. I'll keep you posted on my tests!
  7. I have a giant clam on video, from my great barrier reef trip in Australia. FYI, Anyone want to see the clam?
  8. I just brought it up cause I'm a CPA, and we try to identify any double counting. Hence a quick audit. It looks like people cleaned up their act by deleting any multiple entry finds. I checked the situation I was looking at again and it looks like they logged in the book 2x but website only once. The situation came up when I saw in a log book the same person(s) logging different find numbers on different days, but when I checked the website there is only one entry. But perhaps I was on to something more by mention of the comments from the thread here who may have done the double counting deed. I originally logged my finds on my own cache when I first started geocaching in order to drop off travel bugs; then I found the post notes function could do the same thing, so I corrected mine. To err is human.. as the saying goes....
  9. I am not in a race to get the most caches; however, I did note today that some geo people are going back to the same cache and counting it again . Does this have any other purpose than to run up numbers? and is it honest play if they are in the numbers game?
  10. I did 4 caches in the area around my hotel in Mississauga. 1/1's at night made it more fun, and with some snow too. This is challenging enough! But when the snow melts, I'll do 1/1's to trade bugs only when necessary. I'll be placing some harder ones this summer, beware. The one I place in San Diego was very clever, I might add, Its A MAD MAD MAD MAD World Cache. I got some ideas, Stay tuned.
  11. I found two, one is easy because it's at the enterance of the Yellow Suffern Bear Mtn Trail in Harriman Park NY. The other was harder. It is off the trail at the top of the kitchen stairs (a part of the trail once you get up to the top of the mountain and proceed down the hollow and then at the rock fault the ascension is the stairs) which is on the yellow trail northbound. The actual hidden marker divides the park with the utility company property and it is found if you go toward the rocks, i took photo of , at the top of the kitchen stairs, and a little north on the path. Good luck , let me know if you find this one too.
