  1. OK, I reloaded the WhereYouGo app and left the cartridge folder in it's default location on the internal memory instead of the folder I had created on the SD card. Now it works.... I created a new folder in the internal memory that is much easier to get to in file manager and moved the cartridges there and it still works. Guess the app just doesn't like or can't use the SD card. Thanks for the help.
  2. I created that folder myself. I think it has something to do with Android 6.0 or the phone. Like I said, I can use an emulator on the PC and it will work fine, but it won't open when I manually download it to the phone and it gives a download error when trying to download from the app. I'll still try a few more things, but....
  3. I followed your steps and got the same thing as all the other methods I've tried. When I go to the WhereYouGo main page a small black box pops up for a few seconds that says Invalid cartridge semper_fidelis_mem.gwc If I hit Start, I get an Information message that says No Wherigo cartridge available. Add cartridge file (*.gwc) into /storage/4CAB-E606/Wherigo/ directory and start WhereYouGo again! and the only option is the Close button. Semper_fidelis_mem is a different Wherigo cartridge. Were you playing that cartridge earlier? If you don't need to keep that cartridge right now, then it might help to delete that cartridge's files from your phone. The 'No Wherigo cartridge available' message sounds like the app is looking in /storage/4CAB-E606/Wherigo/ for cartridges to play. The app should not be looking in that folder, since steps 4-6 in my earlier post directs the app to look in the WhereYouGo folder. I just downloaded the 'Fishing on the Fly' cartridge to my LG E980 and was able to open it in WhereYouGo. Maybe that Semper Fidelis cartridge is somehow 'confusing' the app? I'd try deleting it completely. I had changed the file location for the WhereYouGo app to the Wherigo folder. This was another cartridge that worked perfectly on the emulator on my computer, but didn't work on the app. I'll try uninstalling and reinstalling and using the original folder. That shouldn't make a difference since they allow you to pick a folder in the settings, but.....
  4. Can you try these steps and see if it works? 1 - Go to this page, on your phone, and download the cartridge for "Pocket PC Device" 2 - Use a File Manager app to move the downloaded GWC file to your phone's WhereYouGo folder 3 - Open the WhereYouGo app and click on Settings -> Global -> Wherigo folder 4 - In the pop-up window, click on "Select..." and browse to the same WhereYouGo folder as in step 2 5 - Click OK at bottom 6 - Go back and back again to get to the WhereYouGo main screen 7 - Click Start and hopefully the cartridge you downloaded shows up as an option I followed your steps and got the same thing as all the other methods I've tried.
  5. Could you provide the GC Code of the Wherigo you are trying to download? I usually download cartridges from Wherigo.com - then I use the File Manager app to move the cartridge to the WhereYouGo folder. I tried that method and it didn't work either. The CGUID is 5dd201d1-ba31-46b8-b5e1-29bed8a4fca7 I also tried the webwigo emulator. It works with Chrome on my PC under Win7, but didn't work in Firefox on the LG phone when using the same cartridge both times.
  6. So I downloaded and installed WhereYouGo v0.9.0 on my LG VS985 4G LTE phone and it doesn't work at all. If I click the cartridge link in the c-geo app a window pops up and lets me use WhereYouGo to download the cartridge. I select WhereYouGo and a window pops up and says Connecting, then Logging In, then Downloading, then Downloading: Error. I contacted the cache owner and he said the same procedure works perfectly on his wife's android phone. I also tried downloading the file on my PC and copying it to my phone. When I open WhereYouGo a small black box opens and says Invalid Cartridge and then the name of the cartridge file I put into the folder on the phone. When I hit the Start icon in WhereYouGo it tells me to put a valid file in the folder and restart WhereYouGo. Any idea what's wrong? I'm running Android 6.0 version VS98547A Thanks...
  7. We're relatively new to caching, 42 finds so far, but I don't understand taking something without leaving something. One of the first things we did when we started was collect items around the house to put in the caches. The only time we will take something without adding, is if we grab a travel bug we want to move on. Even then we usually put something in. Many times we leave something without taking anything. We love caches full of swag. I don't know if you just had an atypical group of first few finders, or if that is typical. I hope that is a less then usual experience. Can you check again after 20+ finds and let us know how it worked out then? SandyHook27
  8. Bingo!!! That is exactly what we found. I looked at the pics in the gallery and that is the one. If it's still there the next time we get down there I'll pull it and post for the owner to come get it. There wasn't much left besides the logbook in a baggy, a rusty fishing lure and a few waterlogged items I didn't recognize. Since the log seemed to cover three years, my guess is that it might have been placed by a military person and it got abandoned when they shipped out. Thanks...
  9. Hello everyone, New to the forum and doing our first post. We were looking for the two caches along Aquia Creek at Smith Lake Park in 22554 zip code. We found a third cache. It was a plastic container with screw on lid. The lid and the container were both broken. Most of the stuff in it was waterlogged. The log book was in a ziplock bag and in pretty good shape. It was almost exactly between the two caches that are shown on the map. The coordinates were N 38º 29.202 W 077º 23.665. The first entry in the log book was dated 9/29/06 and the last entry was 3/9/08. I haven't figured out how to search the archived caches yet, but a search by coordinates brings up nothing. Being newbies, we didn't bring a pen or pencil along, but we put everything back where we found it. Right move? Anyway to flag the owner for maintenance? Thanks...
