#3. The knife was hand-made by a navy seal. It started life as a file. We worked together several months on some special ops missions in a counter-narcotics mode. The knife was a gift, but... he always said that I would most likely not save my life with the knife, more likely I would save his life with it. So it was important I had a good one. Fortunately, we never got close enough for hand-to-hand.... bullets usually took care of it.

  4. protect your GPS'r -- they are NOT waterproof!!!

i know the whole issue has been addressed before, but i find it to be an important one.

use a waterproof bag designed for GPS'rs. they will save your arse. i dunked my sportrak in the delaware river and killed it. magellan replaced it due to some stress cracks in it.

here is the type bags we use for gpsr and maps.

  5. thje map and compass skills are a definite plus to learn. contact any civilian orienteering club, and they will lead you down the right path... i know sounds corny.

a decent compass can be had for 15$

the skills you learn will last a lifetime.

check your local library or scouts for a club. the scouts may teach you too.. they can earn points for helping you out,

you may also find a gps on ebay for 40-70$ maybe a magellan 315. i will have one on there soon -- no reserve.

    Hidden treasure

Somewhere in northern Brooklyn, several black trash bags hold the Decepticon Cache, a collection of odds and ends left by the Cache Ninja (www.cacheninja.nu). If you have a GPS unit, follow the Ninja's coordinates and leave a surprise. It's all part of a futuristic game of hide-and-seek called Geocaching. Go to www.geocaching.org.

  8. do a search for powerex batteries and maha chargers. read all the reviews on these.. incl the cool charger. i have been using the powerex and maha combo at least a year for AA, AAA needs. we use them in gameboys, GPSrs, flashlights, and toys. they work flawlessly. remember heat kills batteries. they will get hot, but too hot is really bad.

    for chargers and batteries!!!

  11. the deuce and a half you show is worth a ton. the axles are indestructible. i have seen people get them stuck though. the low transfer would allow you to pull down a house. i would buy it if i had 5k to blow!!! nice addition to my driveway, and i would drive it to the next truck meet.
