  1. July 18th sounds good to me. If it gets put off to August I won't be able to make it. I don't really have little ones, but I'd love to come out and put more names to faces. Miles678
  2. What a scary looking bunch! Yes, we really were there. In the picture our hats had just blown off and we didn't have the time to retrieve them before the photo! We tread on the paths of eternal hell and managed to climb out before we were incinerated. We heard the snake without being charmed by its evil spell and becoming prey ourselves. We dared to enter the abyss and returned to tell about it without being lost in its depths forever. After the prize was ours this strange music began to play as the credits started to roll... Executive Producers...Parsa and Dan-Oh. With Special Thanks To...Parsa and Dan-Oh for all of the hard work and time they put into creating Snakes and Ladders. ... ... ... I enjoyed teaming up with climberX and TucsonThompsen for the adventure. I look forward to the opportunity to work with them again in the future. Miles678
  3. Wow! Dan-oh and Parsa in cahoots?!? Why do I get the impression that this is not a 1 - 1 cache? Looks like fun. I'm looking forward to this one!! Miles678
  4. TT, You misunderstood my earlier post. I knew that mine had been approved and found. I was responding to pqcachers who submitted theirs the same day that I submitted mine. They were wondering when it would be approved and I figured theirs would be approved shortly. Their cache, Instar 17b did indeed show up. It bypassed the new status altogether, however. I hit that one first thing this morning, but was only STF. Miles678
  5. pqcachers, I too submitted a cache last Wednesday and it just cleared last night. Miles678
  6. Haven't you heard of the term 'Geocaching Widow'? Miles678
  7. I *used* to be able to walk through poison ivy / poison oak and not get it. I tried not to push my luck. Three years ago my luck ran out and I got a nice case of it while out caching. Like all things, I began to get more careless as time passed. Early in March of this year I paid the price for the lesson yet again. While caching in Carroll Canyon I actually got a splinter of poison oak in my wrist. Needless to say, I did not react to well to injecting myself with urushiol. For two weeks my wrist was in bad shape (weeping, itching, etc.) Now I try to be extremely careful. I have walked away from caches that had poison oak in the immediate vicinity. It is still hard to resist when I am in an overzealous caching mode though! Miles678
  8. I got the green light from SDRP!! Thanks for getting me pointed in the right direction. I figured that I was safe with my spots, but I wanted to be absolutely sure. They were helpful in clarifying the validity of my locations. I should make it clear that my locations are NOT in SDRP. They have not given the go ahead for caches in the park yet. I have some good ideas for a few caches in those areas and Gggdick has been helping me engineer them. We're still working out the details though. Before those are ready I have another one about ready to go. I am anxious to see how it turns out and will be looking for feedback. My lips are sealed on the particulars though! I too hung on to a bug for a bit for a European trip (I was supposed to be there now actually). I hung on to a TB that wanted to go that way. I also obtained the owner's permission. However, since I won't be going until August now, I moved the bug along and let the owner know. Miles678
  9. Thanks for the quick response! I'll follow up on it. I want to keep my caches legit. Miles678
  10. I have a question for north county cachers. I want to follow the wishes of the San Dieguito River Park and avoid placing a cache within their boundaries until it is ok. How do I know exactly what their boundaries are? I have some good ideas for caches and have scoped out some ares for my ideas. However, a few of my areas are close to the SDRP. How do I know what areas are ok to use? I appreciate the feedback. Miles678
