  1. Still have coins for sale- see list above. I've decided to just offer them at a flat price of $8.50 a coin, which covers shipping as well. I'd just like to make some of my original cost back. This would make them quite affordable for anyone wanting to start a collection or wanting some coins to send out into the wild.
  2. Still have a bunch of coins available- entertaining all offers!!
  3. OK, I had one more geocoin set to get framed, and here's the picture of it.
  4. Added some new coins to the list, which are at the top here. Also updating the list of available coins to take out those that have been sold. 5. Ummm... because I was the first one to ask? (Nobody else will be able to say that after all!)
  6. Like a lot of people, when I first started collecting geocoins, I went overboard, so I've decided to thin out my collection and focus on the ones I really, really like. I also have a house-painting project coming up that, like many people, I could use some extra money for. So I have for sale the following coins, all of which are unactivated, and all of which are trackable on geocaching.com. I've tried to use the proper coin name for each, but I can supply pictures if anyone isn't sure what one is. I had recorded the finish on many of them, but a few have question marks beside them, because I'm not sure I'm using the "official" finish name that the coin minter used. On most of the coins, I've written on the paper that came in the coinflip, to record the tracking number and activation code- I always went ahead and got the activation code, and a few coins didn't have that little square of paper with them. Also, for almost all of my coins, I'd spent the money to repackage them in the coinflips that were recommended as being better for storage- I can't remember what they're called, but they're a little stiffer than the coinflips that coins usually come in, and were recommended on these forums- I think they're called safeflips or something similar. I don't really know what to charge for coins, but I'd like to recoup the money I spent on them, which was probably about $9 to $11 per coin. Please make an offer in an email to me- contact me through my geocaching profile. Let me know what coins you want and what you're offering for each coin. Shipping will be $1.50 for the first coin, and $1 for each additional coin. I'd prefer personal transfer (using paypal balance or bank transfer) paypal as the payment method. 7. I don't know much about Kathy or the history, because I think I got onto the forums and started collecting coins maybe a little too late. But I have to say that the original coin is beautiful and I feel honored to have one, and the clear love and sentiment behind it just amazes me! I hope to one day find someone who loves me as dearly as drneal clearly loves Kathy.
  8. Thanks to the generous donation of Erik at USA Geocoins, the company that minted this coin, now you'll be getting two coins for your winning bid. He's also donating a Antique Bronze with Brown Hair Breast Cancer Angel!! International Bidders: This CAN be shipped internationally, but since I can't seem to change the listing to just allow anyone international to bid, if you want to bid, send me an email through my ebay account and tell me the ebay bidder name that wants to bid and it looks like individually I can allow bids.
  9. I think international shipping is now allowed. If it didn't work and you try to place a bid, send me your ebay ID and apparently I can add individual buyers from overseas to be allowed. I love Erik's idea- going to email him and ask if he'd be willing to ship the other coin internationally as well, so I don't want to make that a definite part of the auction til I get his OK on that part.
  10. Bump. Only about a day and a half left for bids- please consider bidding for this great coin sale to benefit a wonderful goal of a fellow cacher!
  11. Oh how I wish I could make one myself, but boy, when I read those plans, I don't even know what language they're speaking!
  12. I wasn't quite sure which forum to post this question in, but this seemed like perhaps the best one. Anyway, even though I've been caching for awhile, I'd never heard of the reverse geocache boxes til yesterday when I stumbled across one while surfing for something else. They look really, really cool and since my whole family is into caching, I thought it'd be a great present to get for them. Does anyone know of anyone who makes them to sell? I looked at a few plans online and it's WAY over my head to do. I emailed the original maker, who indicated on his website that he might do some on commission, but haven't heard back from him. If anybody knows of any source, please let me know!
  13. Item has been relisted. I took out references to the specific charity the money is going to, so hopefully the way it's worded now will be OK with ebay. Again, please bid generously, as the money will all be forwarded to Spinneyman for his goal of walking in all of the 60 mile Susan Komen walks this year: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220796730027&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT
  14. Well it looks like my auction was reported to ebay and somehow can't be listed since I'm not following appropriate charity rules and guidelines. I'm not even sure if Spinneyman's cause is an identified charity that I can list the coin and have proceeds go to him. I'm kind of annoyed that it seems that someone "reported" the auction to ebay, when I was trying to do something good. I know some people might post listings and be trying to rip people off under the guise of a charity donation, but that sure wasn't what I was trying to do. (And I'm not saying it was someone from here, please don't anyone take this post as meaning that, I'm just saying I'm frustrated). So anyway, I'll have to read the links that ebay sent me and see if there is a way I can do it on ebay with their blessing. Stay tuned for more, I'll repost here if I'm able to get it going again. There were a bunch of people watching it, so people seemed interested...
  15. I do like the trackables that one can make of oneself. I've had one on my car, have a t-shirt with a trackable number, and hope to some day get a tattoo and make myself trackable. I doubt that's what people intended when trackables in general were developed, just because no one thought to apply a trackable number to a human being. But that being said, to me a "trackable" has a much wider use as far as the word goes, and while one could use a coin code for a tattoo, which I've thought about doing, just so I'd also be an icon- how cool is that? - I do tend to think that a "coin" should be some sort of smallish shaped thing that's flat. Some of the 3-D coins that have been very poular, like ones that open and close and such, kind of bug me because they couldn't be placed in a book, and require different ways of displaying. So I guess my opinion is likely to be different from every other person's and we're all likely to draw our "line" in different places. Not sure that helps, but just more to think about- does a leather coin bother someone, but a spinning coin or a butterfly coin that opens or the PDA coin that was extra thick not bother that same person? I'm just not sure what the answer is, but it is an interesting thing to think about...
  16. I'm auctioning off the second of the AE satin silver finish of my Breast Cancer Angel geocoins, to benefit fellow cacher Spinneyman and his goal of walking in all of the Susan Komen 3 day walks this year. He minted his own coin to raise money but I wanted to contribute as well by offering one of these coins. I auctioned another one off a few months ago to help out a fellow collector who needed assistance, but other than these two, I don't intend to sell others of the AE edition. That means that this is your last chance to get one in this finish, unless you know me or my immediate family, who are the only ones who have any of the AE coins, and you'd still have to convince us to part with one! I hope people bid generously, as this is a very worthwhile cause: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220794942459&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT
  17. LOVE the cornflower one! Beautiful shade that you picked.
  18. I like how the back came out. A I had no idea about those facts about the dandelion. very interesting.
  19. Mr Gray is going to hide a cache? How cool!!!
  20. I have a few more Cachin' Cats coins left from the ones I set aside to sell- if anyone else wants one, please let me know! I'm already toying with a future design, this was so much fun to do and such a joy to give to my family!
  21. I wanted to let people know some exciting news about this geocoin- it now has it's own custom icon. There was some confusion about this to begin with, as it didn't have an icon at first. But I decided that I really, really wanted it to have one, so now it does. If anyone wants to see what it is, you can check out my geocoin: TB418KM, or if you activated one of your own, check out it's page and as of today, it should show up with the icon there. I'm hoping that this makes the coin more appealing to those who might have not liked the fact that it didn't come with an icon and may not have ordered a coin for that reason. I asked Erik what was left in stock and it sounds like there are about 5 or so of each finish left, so if anyone needs to order a coin, there are a few left for grabs. I'd absolutely LOVE it if there was enough demand to do another run of the coins, and even make some other colors or finishes. I already have been asked why there was no redhead and so that would be a color scheme I'd definitely want to include in a remint- my apologies to the redheads who I completely forgot about when designing the coin. Anyway, the coins are available at usageocoins!
  22. The final project- my breast cancer angel geocoin. I'm missing one finish so will add that final coin in soon, but wanted to go ahead and put it together. It came out great. Not sure you can see in the pictures, because they're purposely done not filled in, but there's a line of ribbons on the top and bottom teal outer mat as well.
  23. Well here is a picture of my cat coins framed. My friend engraved the kitties around the edge, making them overhang a little into the back layer and then I laid the coins out in this pattern to show all six finishes and the back of two of the finishes. I'm super pleased with how it came out. If anyone wants to do something like this with your own coins, rwfairbanks if my friends caching name, feel free to contact him! (Sorry about the reflections that make it look like there are some stray lines mainly on the right side fo the picture- I had a hard time getting a good picture without reflections!)
  24. Oh, interesting thought! That would explain why I got a pink one, if that's the reason! And if it is just coincidence, I'm still thrilled.
