  1. For local caches we try to spot a few near to each other that look to be in an interesting area. When away we just browse those near to where we are and do some of them but tend to go for trads, or easier multis rare to do puzzles as we do not have the time.
  2. Yes it is Pop Up Pirate set the whole series up.
  3. If your GPSr can see the sky it will work anywhere on earth. The only extra cost you might need is a base map but thats not essential.
  4. I went out for a couple of FTF's late last night. I found one at 10pm and had a DNF on the other. It made me jump when I startled a duck in the canal, thank god we do not have growling things in the UK or animals that could eat you!
  5. Yes, started this one first by mistake! I thought it sounded familiar
  6. I wonder if you mean the geocacheuk.com way? if so follow the link gcuk.map forum for details however the site is having problems at the moment, so it may be a week or two before it comes back.
  7. Well done, we will be back for more on the Oldham Way soon.
  8. Congratulations to our daughter Keebee who broke the 400 barrier last week. We were due to get our 500th but darkness and flood waters stopped us finding 2 out of the 3 we were after yesterday afternoon but did get an FTF to make up.
  9. The maps come from geocacheuk.com, if you are not already you will need to sign up for that site. Its free, and has some good features, alas its a little out of date as GC.com keep changing things so it takes a little time to get back. When you are signed up there you need to enter the following on your profile, the first paragraph is the map with the green and red dots the second is the county one, use either or both its up to you. This is the code for your account if anyone else wants to use it, delete the six digit number and enter your own number (take that from your own profile page and hover over the "See the forum posts for this user" link at the bottom of the page is a link shown its the last six digits you need to enter. <p><b>Map of our cache finds:</b></p> <a href="http://stats.geocacheuk.com/"><img src="http://stats.geocacheuk.com/pics/make_mymap.php?c=187809" width="45%" height="45%"></a> <p><b>and the counties we've cached in:</b></p> <p><b><img src="http://stats.geocacheuk.com/pics/make_countymap.php?type=count&c=187809&found=1" width="45%" height="45%"> The snazzy list comes from GSAK and there is a macro to download from the gsak forums. Hope that helps.
  10. Is it the map in our profile or there is one from its not about the numbers which also shows a number found per county.
  11. We changed our name, just a sutle one from gushoneybun1 to gushoneybun. We chose our name originally but ended up adding the 1 as the account locked up when we started. So thanks to the original poster of the link for name changes. The only issue we have is gcuk.com does not link to our account now, but I think it will do when it next updates.
  12. Email the owner? Maybe they can give you the number /
  13. I like the new map, although it does seem slower and the 15 mile thing is a pain, but otherwise keep it.
  14. Something you said? What about me, I was the last to find:the M5 bonus cache and also the last to find Chris&MaryB,s Blithfield Port which is up for adoption at the moment. I did leave a TB in the M5 bonus one so maybe thats why its still left unarchived!
  15. Well done Ian, the site is great. Fingers crossed that it goes to plan
  16. To far for me, we have visited a couple, Letocetum Town was interesting as we took the kids to see the Roman Baths at the same time. We were the last to Blithfield Port and left a coin there so if it is archived please move the coin on. Hope some one takes them.
  17. Regretfully, HTML is not in my dictionary - i.e. I haven't a clue! For a basic guide to html for cache pages try this website . Thanks for the link Pieman
  18. That just not right. You should ask them to provide a forum for you guys over there in the Republic of Ireland. Thing is we already have a vibrant offsite forum on GeocachingIreland.com which everyone (well nearly everyone) is happy with. A few of us also hang around here so if we see anyone with a query that can be better serviced on GCI we direct them there or just help them here. Not broken....no fix required yet And thank you for for contribution to the forums, and that of your new friend Croaghan
  19. Well I am off to bed hope the site looks good doubt I will see it till later tomorrow afternoon
