  1. Can you let us know on this thread when the petition is active. This is because I will forget
  2. There are lots of free wifi zones over here. Certainly every McDonalds lots of pubs then hotels as well so as long as you are not in the middle of nowhere you can get online.
  3. I would suggest updating your software to the current version which is 4.10, rather than carrying on with 4.04.
  4. It seems to be an ongoing Garmin issue. I had it with my Colorado, others have had it with Oregons and I have had it once with my 650. It seems to be when the gpx file is big, the files are on the unit but some or all of the caches do not appear I can only suggest the reset or reloading the file plus an email to Garmin.
  5. How are you loading the gpx files? If you load a single file straight from the cache page the cords will be corrected. If you load via a pq the pq will not have the corrected cords in it. The change for including corrected cords in pqs is on the todo list but has been for a while now though.
  6. I had an issue with 4.02 as well. I am in the UK as I am guessing wrongwayuk is so it may be an issue linked to where we are based.
  7. Thank's for that +1, original link was broken, this works thanks.
  8. Thanks for the update and your time and effort in maintaining the site
  9. I looked a couple of days ago, it diverted me to adverts. I tried yesterday and again earlier today and the same thing.
  10. 1. Yes 2. Never had an issue but only had one for a month or so 3. Not as good as a proper camera but at least I have this with me as the camera is normally still at home. All photos on my profile dated 27 march and on were taken with my 650 4. Yes nice big screen which is easy to see with custom menus and views. Shame there is no Wherigo support but I guess the answer to me is if I lost this one would I buy another to which the answer would be YES. 5. it is to me paperless and holds loads of caches (12000) 6. No idea I use open street which in the UK are pretty good but no 3D views.
  11. They are fine as hand luggage. I personally would not put anything valuable in the hold. Some airlines will allow you to turn it on when you are on the air, it's not often you wll travel at 600 mph. When you arrive the unit may take a little to settle and find out where it is so turn it on and leave it in view of the sky for a little while. Have a good holiday.
  12. I have used handtec and they are good but I have just received a new unit from satnaveasy.co.uk I ordered last Thursday standard delivery they sent it Friday and it arrived Monday. Handtec could not match the price.
  13. You should get a notification email if a log is deleted. I would email the cache owner and ask why they were deleted? Blank logs alone are not a reason to delete logs, but being a cache owner I know how annoying they are, you go to all the trouble to set the cache and someone can not even say thanks, so maybe the owner took umbridge, with a few rattling in all blank. But the cache owner can delete found logs if he did not believe you found the log, did you sign the log book? Or if a few of you went together and signed it under a team name its worth including the team name in your log so the owner can link the markings in the book to the online logs, if they check.
  14. You need to look out for Tomtoms that use the Easy menu. They did not take coordinates but a recent software update seems to have changed that now but as Chris says check first, before buying in case its only certain models.
  15. Your link resulted in an error. There certainly have been a few around there over the years, including a series by the National Trust, those ones tend to be well marked with the NT logo shown.
  16. So because the students have broken everything its ok for cachers to do the same and more?
  17. I ran the macro mentioned above and even without trying found I have completed the challenge with at least two caches at each distance, such a shame the cache is so far away.
  18. I see you found 2 caches in the last week. Have you run a new My Finds PQ, or is the one you ran last week? still waiting for you?
  19. Friends do not give you any of the above. But there are a couple of benefits: You get a page where you have a quick link to their profile and can see their find and placed summary. When you view a cache you can select the log book option which can then show your friend's logs on that cache.
  20. I use a GSAK macro to produce a map, which is on my profile.
  21. I think that I'm right in saying that Groundspeak uses "Seattle time"! I had to recently change a date because I went out early in the morning to "tick a box" before catching a flight - I know it's a bit sad! - and when I checked it was recorded as the day before!! By default the site does use "Seattle Time" so the best thing to do is go here and change it to the relevant time zone for you: http://www.geocaching.com/account/ManagePreferences.aspx I think Sol seaker is in Washington State so should not have this issue
  22. As Delta68, mentioned, maybe take a look here: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest.aspx?tx=69eb8534-b718-4b35-ae3c-a856a55b0874&ul=Jacaru&sc=n Compare your found dates to the dates of the actual events
