  1. Thanks for your interest. Unfortunately, this is as local as GC forums get in the Great White North.
  2. The container for Secret Garden Seed Exchange (GC13HA0) has gone missing. It's a fairly popular cache, hidden over 5 years ago but I no longer have the time to maintain it. If someone would like to adopt it, please let me know. Otherwise it will be Archived.
  3. Harsh lesson, I know. But don't let it discourage you. There are still 1,752,069 other caches out there to find. Perhaps we need a little more due diligence from our Reviewers. Especially with first time hiders.
  4. I have a TB (TB18YT6) that has several pages of "visited" logs. I checked some of the associated cache logs and found some DNFs. I tried this out with one of my missing TBs (TB195WP) and an archived cache (GC120QE). When I selected Log Type DNF, I was still presented with the Dropped Off and Visited actions. Here is the cache log and here is the TB log.
  5. I have a trackable that's been carried around by a cacher since last July leaving a trail of generic visit logs. Out of curiosity, I checked a few of the cache logs. I was surprised to find that some were DNFs. Has anyone else noticed this? Is it a bug?
  6. If you're at the point of giving up on your trackable, you could mark it "Missing" and suggest to other owners to do the same. Then he'd have to look through his collection, if it indeed exists, to retrieve the codes. Not a very productive solution, I admit, but maybe fun nonetheless.
  7. Marking a bug or coin not found in your cache as "Missing" should be part of your regular maintenance as all COs are encouraged to do. As many have mentioned, it does no harm and is helpful to other cachers. I find it very disappointing when on a local bug hunt before a trip not to find any.
  8. Have you tried putting your emails through Google Translate to convert them to Norwegian?
  9. I believe this is already achieved by marking your trackable as collectible.
  10. Or you could just buy some 7/8" dowel and slice some up for yourself.
  11. You're right! What up with that?
  12. I got that part, thanks... what I wanted to know is where on the page, since I've never seen it... Thus I've concluded it was a PMO privilege. I'm still a basic member. All the people that seem to have it to use are PMs. Soon I hope to manage to control the bills enough to upgrade... of course then transportation will be the problem... guess I better find more discarded beer cans/bottles. At least todays snowfall is melting away in the rainshowers.. Doug 7rxc I second Doug's question. I was a Premium Member for a number of years but have let it lapse. I've never seen any menu item or link for Personal Notes on a cache page. Nor is there any mention of them in the Knowledge Books or Premium Member Benefits. Where's they hidden? Edit: Never mind. t4e just answered while I was fiddling with my post.
  13. It's a shame when someone archives a geocache without retrieving the container and other remnants. It's a catastrophe when someone does it on this scale. I just checked a few of their previously archived caches and others have had to CITO the remains. It does not reflect well on the hobby.

Don't drop any Travel Bugs or Geocoins. The trackable community will thank you!
  15. I wasn't quite sure which forum to post this in but this seemed like the closest. Are there any COs out there that have any interesting logs from finders who start and stop their hobby on your cache? I kinda like this from a visitor to one of my caches: "What a thrill. First cache and it was in my our own neighbourhood, and in one of our most favourite places in the city. Bought a GPS yesterday so this was our first adventure. Found cache in a location we often pass. Great metaphor for hidden treasures in day to day life. My son and his friend each took one thing (paratrooper and pin) and they replaced with a toy ship and airplane."
  16. While some of the language in your appeal might be viewed as mildly antagonistic, their brusque response is undeserved. It's obvious you put a lot of careful thought into your arguments. Simply not agreeing without providing reasons and then closing the discussion is quite unfair. I fairly sure that GS didn't start out, or intend to become one. But it sure is looking like a mindless corporation these days.
  17. Many solutions have been suggested. I'd like to add one more. I have never attended any event caches but I understand travellers are usually collected/distributed at a central location. In addition to the standard equipment of cardboard boxes and crayon signs, some form of internet access should be provided to enable immediate logging. And maybe someone with a big stick to ensure it's being done correctly.
  18. Once you've completed all the combinations, you could look for this cache.
  19. In the top right corner of a Travel Bug's or Geocoin's webpage, there is a box titled Trackable Options. Click on Print Info Sheet in that box and the info sheet will be displayed which you can then print.
  20. You could also look through the poster's finds. Easier said than done with the more accomplished geocachers.
  21. It's map looks a bit like a Cat's Cradle. A little more work on Asia please!
  22. Woohoo! They're still at it. 600260.6km and counting.
