  1. I just replaced my two year old Android phone with a new model. I uninstalled the Geocaching App on the old one and can't seem to get it on the new one. It keeps saying that it's not compatible with this device. I went into settings and allowed unknown sources of non- market apps but still cannot get it to accept the new phone. I know there's lots of smart people out there so if you're reading this then "HELP". Thanks in advance.
  2. Got my 20 through Amazon and City Navigator from Garmin. Came to a little over 200 bucks.
  3. Me too. My 20 is working great and would like to keep it that way.
  4. I got City Navigator for my 20 and it works great for caching and detailed driving directions when looking for a cache. If I remember it was about 70 bucks.
  5. I don't know about your Montana but on my e-Trex 20 I enter the cache as "found". When I get to a computer I can then click on the found logs file and erase them without interfering with the loaded caches. Hope that helps.
  6. You just need to copy it to the Garmin/GPX folder on the device. You'll find the device in 'My Computer' on windows. I double click the Garmin folder and then double click the GPX folder. I then drag and drop the GPX file into the GPX folder. Works every time for me and I'm pretty much a knucklehead when it comes to computers.
  7. Love my e-Trex 20 with paperless caching.
  8. Thanks for the response. Do I title the gpx folder in the memory card as Garmin/gpx to be recognized by the 20?
  9. Does anybody out there know how to make an eTrex 20 see a GPX file loaded on a memory card? I load the card with the GPX file and install it into the unit and then nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  10. I use garmin city navigator on my e-Trex 20 and it works very well for caching in the country or turn by turn navigation to the cache when in the city.
  11. Ditto on the eTrex 20. I got mine for $169.95 (CDN). A great little unit for the money. The 20 is my third GPS in 10 years and it's the best. Paperless caching and pocket queries. Life is good.
  12. It over writes the existing files if you use the same file name huh? Cool, I didn't know that. Thanks for the info.
  13. That's it! They must be removed manually, either via Explorer (Windows), Finder (Mac), or using BaseCamp (Both). You can also show the caches you want removed as "found" and that will take them off of the active list.
  14. I agree. I've had a number of GPS units and the e-Trex 20 is the most accurate yet. Consistently gets us within a couple of feet from the cache. Tree cover is not a problem.
  15. We took a city bus from the cruise terminal out to The Lighthouse Cache and the Aruba Postcard Cache. If I remember it was maybe a buck apiece to ride one way and a buck coming back. We use an e-Trex 20 and it worked fine without detailed maps since I only have North America on mine also. It showed major roads which was all we needed. Enjoy your trip.
  16. I replaced my 76csx with an e-Trex 20 and what a difference. Paperless caching and pocket queries are two things that sold me. I really don't notice any difference in the accuracy between the two units although the electronic compass in the 76 was always aiming at the cache.
  17. I use a pc with firefox with my etrex 20 and it works fine.
  18. I too have had caches not show up when I'm on a trip. I've had better luck with the drag and drop into the file method than with Easy GPS send to GPS method. Haven't tried Basecamp yet.
  19. After 2.80... I am VERY happy with the 20. Glad I didn't give up on it!!! Same here.
