  1. CellSensor EMF Detection Meter - made to detect cell phone radiation and electromagnetic fields but can be used to locate those tiny little magnetic nanos. Shhhhh don't tell
  2. I have a Garmin Venture HC and just upgraded to a PN-40. I'd say go with the Garmin Venture HC as it's 200 dollars cheaper and will do a fine job. Less of an investment until you see if you are into Geocaching or not.
  3. I noticed that shortly after I posted it and didn't feel like editing. Ordered one just in case. Now to think of a tap sequence. Yes, you get the other half point. Congrats, you have two half bonus points, lol. Shiny. I wonder if they hold the code memory if they lost power? How cool to put one in an ammo box hooked to a lock solenoid that would allow the top to open after the correct knock pattern. Of course you would want a momentary switch that would be held down when Knocking so you wouldn't drain power between cachers - Hummmm. A mount to a building with constant power would be awesome. "Knock - Knock" Mystery Cache
  4. Until your license plate is stolen. A couple of co-workers had theirs stolen while mine was nearly stolen. The only thing that saved me was one of the screws was stripped. I've since changed to anti-theft style bolts. Also, if you have no way to remove the license plate... What I've taken to doing is cable-tying a spare key way up under the car. I make it very inconvenience to get to, but more convenient that busting a window or calling a locksmith. Here's a neat gadget I've been meaning to play with. Makes your car keyless entry if you have electronic locks. That is neat - Check out the picture of the blonde lady using it - Her sunroof is open -LMAO
  5. I like the Plastic ammo box over the 'Official Geocache' large pelican box that Groundspeak sells for $24.99 (Which I think is also too much)
  6. I never trust those though I have no reason not to. Personal paranoia I guess. Might do, though. Might do. Duct Taped to the back of your license plate works well also.
  7. Did you know that the magnetic Hid-a-Key boxs are actually used to Hide a Key? Yes kids, they're not just for Geocaches I learned the hardway and have one up under my bumper.
  8. I know I shouldn't even respond BUT - what is the 'little experiment'?
  9. The 5th cache (final) could be on the other side of the country. Usually people like to place the posted coords. for something like that to be in the middle of a lake or some other 'impossible' location. The guidelines call for the bogus co-ordinates to be within 1-2 miles of the actual co-ordinates so the mileage of travelers don't get munged to badly. Jim OOps - Sorry
  10. The 5th cache (final) could be on the other side of the country. Usually people like to place the posted coords. for something like that to be in the middle of a lake or some other 'impossible' location.
  11. You could do Pocket Query's and open them in Excel. Sort by cache ID and look for the that is listed twice. Since you have so many finds you would have to do a couple of Pocket Query's with differnt values since you are only allowed 999 results.
  12. You attach them to the cache logs and then they show up in the Personal Gallery. For example if you took a picture at Fun at the Flours (Flowers) that you found yesterday and attached it to your log entry, you would see it at the cache page and in your gallery. You can go back and edit your found logs and attach pictures if you want. EDIT Or you can put them right on your Personal Profile Page (like I did) with some simple HTML. The pictures could be located on any hosting site.
  13. Drugs stores always have them. Look in the section that has storage containers for pills. The smaller ones for Nitro pills might even work better then a normal Bison.
  14. On GC1KAHT there are 5 DNF’s and only 3 finds. The 1.5 difficulty rating may be too low. IMHO – the logs for GC1KAHF seem just like a bad spot I looked at you area and there seems to be several caches that are larger then the micros you have been looking for. Try some of them.
  15. Just like the others said, Don't be discouraged! I had a DNF on a flippin film canister last night. Was racing to be FTF but didn't even get second. DNF
  16. Your post is most likely going to be moved to the Travel Bug section but before it does. Geocoins are coins that come in many sizes, shapes and designs. They are very much like a military challenge coin but they have a unique tracking number. When you find one you can do a couple of things. 1. You can discover the coin. To do this just write down the tracking number and LEAVE the coin in the cache. When you log the cache you should see a section on the right that has a little icon for the coin and the 'name' that the owner gave it. You click it and from that page select discovered from the drop down list, enter the number you have and write what ever you like. You can also see where the little bugger has traveled to and any goal or mission it has. 2. You can take the coin. Coins and Bugs are not considered Swag items so you don't have to leave one in it's place. You then goto the same page I mentioned before but mark that you retrieved the coin. You have the coin but it is NOT yours to keep. In another cache you find later (in a short period from when you took it) you leave the coin and then when you log the cache find you select the coin from a list that will be shown on the bottom of the page that you left it. The coin will then be logged in that cache and the milage between the cache you took it from and the one you left it in will be added to it's milage. Thats the 10 cent version of it. Oh Yes - for every coin to discover or move you get a new neat little icon on your personal page if that items has a unique icon - Coins are very fun - Go get em
  17. You could be causing the death of 100's of fairies - Edit: Just watched the GeoSnippits. Even if you don't like / agree with 35mm containers, you have to admit that hardhat does a nice job making the videos -
  18. It could be missing but I'm betting it's still there. Finding the cache area is the easy part, locating the actual cache is sometimes the hard part. Edit: After reading the cache I'd say it's behind one of the pages on the base.(Just make it look like you are checking your shoe laces. Check behind the pages. ) and it's in a very small crack where you my need tweezers etc. to remove it (You may be nimble fingered or you might need a tool) I can't read the writing on the pages, but look for something that has to do with the additional hint. Edit x 2 (after reading logs) - Definitely low to the ground. - Defiantly in a small crack or hole - Will need a small stick etc. to get it out Always read the cache description very closely. Most Cache Owners place clues in it. Looks at the pictures, many times they show the container and read the logs twice. Many ‘spoilers’ to help you. Edit x 3 (way too much time on my hands) Once I figured out the statue was Roma Mitchell (sorry I'm a dadgum American that totally missed that in your post - lol) I found a better picture. I'm going with behind the paper on the left side of the very bottom base - It WILL say something about Human Rights - need a stick to get it (Final answer) 10,466 miles is a little far for me to go look myself
  19. Ladies and Gentlemen. The forum moderator has just turned on the ‘fasten seatbelts’ sign. Our next stop will be Great Plains local forums, Oklahoma. Please enjoy your flight
  20. GC1GNH8 was just shut down by the CO because of the cheat site Edit - the person running the group is listing the caches by number and providing 'clues'. If you don't want to do the puzzle even with the 'clue', you just click the file and it gives the final coords.
  21. I agree it's not very nice of them. If I were you I'd make a 5/5 puzzle cache that was impossible to solve just to drive them nuts. When I say Impossible, I mean there is no way to solve it because there is no solution. OK, that isn't ethical I guess either
  22. That one sounds like it's in an amazing spot. Even though I'm going to be in Ethiopia at the end of March I'm still going to be 340 miles away from that cache. Take a look at the "Jinka Cache", also in Ethiopia. Read the logs and look at the note posted on May 8, 2008, then check out the profile of the geocacher that logged it. NYPaddleCacher - It appears that the majority of the people in Jinka are armed. If you don't make it back can I drive up to your place and have your Kayak?
  23. A little off topic but remember to also take 100 foot of rope. 5 year olds are just the right weight to lower over the side of a bridge, down an old well or off a cliff to get those 5/5 caches.
  24. With only 2 finds under my belt (today!) I'm the #1 geocacher in my home and in my boyfriend's eyes. You are also the premier geocacher in the world who uses the name "jynclr". And not only in the minority of female cachers, but one with some kind of Huffman looking encrypted tattoo.
