  1. Hopefully you have already got the Geocoin into another cache...but if not, that is what I do. I try not to hold onto Geocoins or Travel Bugs for too long. I even put a TB into a micro cache, luckily it fit... And like Welch says, if they want it you could agree on a cache with them so they could get it. Happy Geocaching!

    Help!

Biomed50...I just looked at the Garmin Website and that unit (76CS) looks like quite the unit. I have a simple Magellan Meridian and it works fine for me. The main reason I got it was because of the expandable memory. If you have a 76CS you are way ahead of what I have, I did look at the Magellan Color and it is simular to the 76CS but I kept my cost down by going with the Meridian...so if all you want to do is go fishing and mark points in the water and caching, you could go as low as $70 for a basic model Garmin or $100 for Magellan or the $500 for the 76CS or Magellan Color. Hope it helps...Susan55115, Happy GeoCaching!
  3. Thanks for the reply Jeremy....glad to hear you all are ready. I look forward to this new site, thanks.
  4. I just checked out the Waymarking website and the first thing that came to mind is...WOW....that's going to be a huge database...I can think of lots of possible "categories" in the local area. With geocaching being worldwide, Jeremy and the rest at Groundspeak are you ready??? Just a thought. Susan55115
  5. same problem noted. DCJ contacted me and he is having the same problem where he is at. I was able to go to the individual benchmark page and download it's data into EasyGPS.
  6. Thanks I was wondering about that as I have gone to the MapQuest and then to Topo and saw the BM on the Topo but no benchmark sheets for that location.
  7. I use the standard cross-box with the EasyGPS download and then when I send it to the mapping program I change it to identify the ones I found, didn't find, and still to be found.
  8. We(Susan5515 and DCJ) have been including coordinates and photo's with the logged visit to each benchmark we find....don't know why but did so from the beginning. Most time for the benchmarks we find we are 150 feet off and so the benchmarks are more challenging. If we let the GPS sit for awhile we generally get within 6 feet of the caches. So we believe you should include the information and then if someone wants to go out and find it they hopefully will quickly and then let you know if their coordinates differ from yours. We also noted that our gps readings are 'off' if we lay the gps on the benchmark, so we tend to hold the gps upright let it settle and then lay it down and get the picture. So some of our may be way off and not help the next person anyway.
