  1. I saw how to do this in these forums but now I have forgotten just how I got it to work. ( a mind is a terrible thing to waste ) All I remember is I dropped a file in Google Earth and all the caches showed up just like in the picture. Does anybody know what you have to do to get GE to do this? I will write it down this time.
  2. Thank you Sparticus. This is not just a celebration of 1000 Cache finds it is also a celebration of friendship. Along with my friends 2 Guys Named Moe we have found hundreds of Caches together and this Cache makes our 7th Milestone together. The past couple years of Caching, with the Moes, has been great fun and has definitely left some moments we won’t forget.
  3. 3 or 4 days would be very a ambitious schedule. I spent 93 hours and drove 2800 miles to finish the AGT. I only live at the SE corner of the whole area. On a good day we could get 20. On a long drive day we would only get 6. Great fun though.
  4. Truly awesome. This will save a lot of work and backtracking going to a strange town.
  5. I got Air Sharing and even managed to get the whole folder into the page to upload but no matter what I do Bonjour cannot be contacted. I must be doing something wrong.
  6. Where or what do you use to store the Caches on your iphone after it is exported from GSAK? Any idea how much space 500 would take up? I should imagine only a couple of megs.
  7. A group of us seek out tougher Caches. Here are a couple from the past year we have enjoyed together. We choose to do this. If you don't like them then don't go after them. Many are technical. You are warned about this in the Cache description. We have had a fantastic time together seeking them out. They are definitely not for every Cacher. This is the final of a 5/5 that took us 5 days over a period of a month to finish. My knee surgery went fine. The 72 year old woman did much better than I did The Ultimate Assault Team found this one.
  8. I've made a few but not as cool as yours. I'm interested too.
  9. This would be a ways from you but if you are headed toward Maryland you should consider it. It is near Breezewood PA. Great Cache anytime of the year. Hot summer it would be cool and cold winter it will be warmer that outside. Great place to explore. You can walk it or bike it. Bring lights though. Turnpike Tunnel Cache #2 The Cache down under
  10. Several years ago I found this fine specimen. I was playing with track back on the GPS, not watching where I was walking, and almost stepped on him. He was very cooperative for pictures though.

  12. That's one of his easier hides. Terrain, well let's just say we went up and down several times. I just got lucky and made a sweep with my hand UNDER and came up with the find. Leaf cover this time of the year make it very hard. HINT!!
  13. Having done a Pocket Query for 5/5s within 100 miles of Central PA I thought others might be interested in the Ultimate 5/5 here in Central PA. While the other 5/5s have difficulties this multi combines almost everything in Geocaching. Without a doubt this is the Ultimate 5/5 in this part of the country created by Mountain Cowboy. Please no negative comments. If you don’t choose to do this then you don’t have to! Others might be interested in challenging themselves. I know I had to try it and our team got a FTF. The youngest member of the team was 54 and the oldest 70. Surely there must be some young Pups that might want to test themselves. This Cache will test you to the limits of your physical and mental abilities. Special equipment and skills are involved as well as a great deal of your time. It took our team 4 days of physical torture and at least 5 to 7 days of mental anguish to complete the challenge over the course of about 2 weeks. The 4 days of physical torture is only because we came prepared. If you don’t have a good Cache Bag it will take you longer. As the Cache page says “come prepared” I can tell you I’m glad it’s over and I’m glad I did it. Do I want to do it again? Well let’s just say I’m getting too old for this. My hat is off to the team of Mountain Cowboy for creating the Ultimate 5/5. You guys had to go through some torture to set it up as well. You are the most devious pair of Cachers I know. Kudos to you. Here is the link to:The Easy Cache
  14. Sure, why not, especially if it's a Great Cache location. Here's a picture of the group from last February that visited a great cache. Seven of the eleven had already been there. We sent out a large email inviting anyone that wanted to go, just for the heck of it. It was cold, snow on the ground, and a 2 mile walk to get there and all these people were dying to go. We had a great time with some great friends. Hot dogs and marshmallows over an open fire are always great. There was also wine, cheese, crackers and other assorted food and drinks. We have a great bunch of friends that are Cachers. We just enjoyed getting together, sitting around a fire, and talking. That's the best thing I have found about Geocaching. Friends.
  15. OMG! I can't believe I've never seen this before! This totally made my day, thanks Made my day too. I was just searching for such a site. Many thanks.
  16. Congratulations Sparticus You have to stop having those DNFs and you will be getting more I need to get a few more by Oct. 4th so the Moes and I can hit 900 I might be up your way in the next week or so. Depends on what happens this sunday. I'm going with another Cacher to do "Hiking 101" I hope I survive.
  17. A personal favorite of mine is Boundary Dispute. A very large stand of Virgin Timber. It is a physically challenging virtual in NC PA. Only 18 people have made the trek to this one in 7 years. Well worth the effort. Boundary dispute
  18. That's just your opinion. Mine may be different. But I have finally solved it. You all can now go to sleep peacefully.
  19. You got ALL the help you needed: CONTACT THE CACHE OWNER FOR A HINT! I did but I still don't see it all. Guess I need my glasses or brain checked.
  20. 42 was the best answer I got I guess there is no help here!
  21. I cannot find any way to solve this but I know there has to be much smarter people out there than me. Could anyone solve this hieroglyphic problem. Since I am not great at puzzles I have been known to resort to any means to solve them. Your help would be greatly appreciated.
  22. Actually, you have it easy. Places with permit systems are often easier to work with as you have contact people, etc. I would tell him it's a virtual cache with a geology theme. (They've not updated their form to include earthcaches). You've got lots of great places up there for earthcaches. I thought about making a couple when I was passing through. I guess if I send them the link to the Earthcache page, so they have an idea what this is, then make a visit to the office I should be able to explain it all. I do a lot of volunteer work in Moshannon District and some in Elk so I know these people pretty well. My biggest problem is I am "Geology Challenged" at least to put it in technical terms. I have some feelers out to hopefully enlist some one from Penn State to help me with the technical side of Geology. Now all I need is more time.
  23. Wow. I'm not sure what to do now. My local DCNR knows what Geocaches are but how am I going to ask for permission for an Earthcache when they will have no idea what it is or how to deal with it. I know the DCNR approver and have tried to explain Earthcaches to him but I don't think they have any way of tracking them. I guess I do need some kind of help to start this process.
  24. , My husband and I went geocaching Saturday as well, but we went up north a little ways. We visited Logan Falls. Muck and I were just talking about that Cache. If he gets moving we both might hit a milestone there. Looks like a great place.
  25. If you are hiking the trail and know about where you are on the trail when you come up to Wildcat Rock you will know you are there!! All you have to do is look for the Cache. You really don't need coordinates. Be careful. Use a stick to probe at first in areas you can't see will. There is the possibility of snakes. Largest one I have found was when I found this Cache.
