  1. Then that probably rules out a script issue. Do you have other addons? I have AdBlock Plus and the dictionary.
  2. You can also do a delete waypoints by symbol: Push 'Find', then 'Waypoints', then push 'Menu' button, scroll down to 'Delete', then choose 'all symbols' or make selection of which symbols to delete then push 'Enter' button. Poof! all gone... You could then delete just the waypoints with your custom geocache icons.
  3. Good idea! Might want to turn the computer off and then back on again after you clear out your browser cache. I would also be logged off when I shut the computer down and then log back in after it comes back up. Ya never know. OK...I was just able to duplicate the problem. I have Firefox as my browser and when I was on the cache page, I right-clicked on the map and then clicked on "AdBlock image" and now....no maps. Perhaps you have set your spyware setting (if you are not using Firefox) to something that is blocking images.
  4. I don't have the greasemonkey add-on and I don't always log out of the forums, but I am the only here that could use the computer. I have noticed a time-out issue when I try to post at times.
  5. I went to that exact cache while logged in and I see the pics and the maps. I logged out and went to the cache and all I see are the pics and NO maps. You can be logged into the forums and not geocaching.com. You have to log into them both. What does it say at the top right when you are on that cache page? You are logged in? If you advertisements where you normally see the maps in the upper right, you are more than likely not logged in. Trying logging out and then logging back in if it says you are logged in.
  6. I found this one myself when looking for "Pining for Attention." It is the "Woodland Fairy" letterbox by Nancy Drew. I sent a note to the owner about it awhile back from the letterboxing website. My coordinates were really pointing me to this exact location. It was my first letterbox to find. Divemaster for Rick's? I used to scuba...can't anymore.
  7. I use Firefox and I have noticed that myself every now and then. The 1st time it happened, I thought I must have done it accidentally somehow. But it is happened at least 3 other times and I am sure I didn't do it on them. This just started in the last few days, too.
  8. My guess is that you are not logged in. I'm logged in just fine, but still no maps. the maps use to just appear, but no longer. I can click on the lower one (all i see of the lower one is a line to click on), which will take me to the map page, but no maps are visible on any cache pages I look at, can you tell me why? That is weird. I see them just fine. Are you using a different browser or something? I would check your browser option for displaying graphics.
  9. I don't see what you are talking about. I go to the page that is titled "my pocket queries: and i have my queries listed there. I do not see anyplace on that page to delete a query. I have to click on whatever particular query I wish to delete and then that query page loads and that is where I Find the delete button. Click on the name of the one that you want to delete, then you'll see the Delete button on the bottom of the next page. Well....for whatever reason, I do not see that on the page "My Pocket Queries" . I see exactly what you are talking about with the check boxes, but when I check one or any of them, nothing else happens. Oh well. Well...that is exactly what I am talking about. I thought there was a faster way. I probably didn't explain myself very well. Thanks. See post #6 above. You can delete one or multiple PQs directly from the page where they are listed.

  12. When you are on the cache page, are you able to see the different map options on the left-hand side? It says: For Online Maps.
  13. --> QUOTE(Fuzzy B @ Sep 7 2007, 01:18 PM) 3056766[/snapback] Pocket Queries how to delete them from PQ page??????? Go to your PQ page, click on the one you want to delete, and when that page loads, scroll down to the bottom and on the right you will see the delete button.
  14. WOW....what are the rules for suspension from gc.com? I personally know that a cacher replaced a temporarily archived cache that was not his (and without the owner's knowledge and approval) ...moved it to his idea of a better spot and changed the clue and then send harassing and threatening emails to 2 members who complained on a log that he shouldn't do that. NOTHING was done to his account because he is still able to log on.
  15. But...aren't you already registered ? You have had an account since April.
  16. That's the Gist of Netflix though I didn't know the term behind it. Such a rating system would work fairly well for most people. Though there have been some good debates over it as well. I think this system would work very well. I use Netflix and have for years. I have never rated a movie I have returned and I doubt if I ever will. Therefore, the ratings system would not be skewed towards what I like. Netflix does make recommendations based on the movies I have rented in the past and sometimes that works. For the most part, I like the majority of the caches I find. Some might be considered lame, but I do appreciate the effort someone went to in order to have a cache activated and placed. And, the cache got me outside doing something instead of sitting on my butt in front of the TV, it made me use my brain...which is always a good thing, and I usually had a smile on my face when I was done. There have been a few caches that I have driven to and decided that no way in heck was I going in there...so I left. End of story, but good for those that did.
  17. Where is it written that handicapped people have to be sentenced to a geo-lifetime of skirt lifting and lurking around dumpsters and loading docks? I know if I were to become handicapped and lame caches were all that was available to me that would be the end of my geocaching days. Handicapped people deserve interesting caches too. I've found quite a few good to excellent caches that were handicap accessible. Easy terrain does not have to = lame. Correct. Nor do these handicap cachers need 50% of the caches in and around many major cities in the U.S. to be placed in parking lots, around dumpsters and near loading docks, allegedly on their behalf. It was not my intent to say that handicapped people should be sentenced to skirt-lifting, etc. and I apologize if that was how it was interpreted. I was just trying to find a way that the OP could use to try and rid himself of caches he deems lame. I got the impression that he thought urban micros that were easily found, park and grabs, and 1/1's were beneath him. I know some micros that have a terrain of 1 with a 4-5 difficulty that are handicapped accessible and great urban caches.
  18. I would think that one relatively easy way to avoid a cache some might consider lame would be to look at the attributes. If one is listed as handicapped accessible, that might be a clue for those that hate LUMs to look elsewhere. Until reading this thread, I hadn't given any thought to those geocachers who might have difficulties reaching caches on trails and I am glad that they are able to participate in caches that others might consider lame. A new cache was just posted in my area and on the page, the guy even calls it a "Park and Grab". I think that's a great way to let people know if they want to consider it or not.
  19. If you don't like micros, don't look for them. It is not your right to remove a cache you do not like. If you do look for it and have a problem with it perhaps a log giving constructive criticism and the reasons you don't like the cache would help. It's easy enough to log "this is a stupid cache" or whatever, but giving reasons would help the cache owner realize that there might be an issue with the cache. Even a "Found it, Signed Log" doesn't let the owner know it might be a LUM.
  20. I'll give MY definition: Micro Spew is the proliferation of caches placed in uninteresting locations mostly for the sole purpose of upping one's statistics (hide and/or find). Usually very easy to find and one can park within feet of them. These are typically micro caches and are log onlybut are sometimes larger. Some example locations include parking lots, lamp skirts, gaurdrails, garbage containers etc. I guess I have been fortunate for the quality of the micros that I have found. The majority of them have been clever, difficult (almost impossible to find) and in some of the most inventive containers. I have enjoyed finding them even when I have had to go back to them with help. One was a Mr. Magneto attached to a pine cone that was attached to a tree in a pretty urban park. Another was a push pin ( bigger than a normal sized one) that had the center hollowed out for the log. This was attached to a telephone pole and looked like it belonged there. It was placed near a great restaurant where you could go for a meal after a day of caching. I feel good when I finally do find them and appreciated the effort to make and hide them. I recently found a tupperware type cache in a vacant lot in an "iffy area" under a brush pile. I would much prefer the clever micros to this.
  21. Do you have any of the mapping software: City Navigator, etc? Have you tried uninstalling Garmin Communicator and re-installing it? I also found mine listed in add/remove programs and there is a "repair" feature you might want to try.
  22. Something similar happened to me the other day. I was on a trail looking for a cache and I would see 300' to cache and then it would jump up to 400' or more. This kept happening and then ( I am slow sometimes) I realized that due to the switchbacks on the trail, I would be close then far, then close, then far, etc. There is another one I will need a trail map for because my last best spot indicated it was 300' away and could have only meant straight up! I need to find a better way to get in there.
  23. Here is a possible workaround for palm files: http://kb.palm.com/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE...Case=obj(43851)
  24. I have Vista and haven't encountered a problem with the "send to GPS" feature of gc.com and I haven't had problems with GSAK and my GPS . However, I am not using an adapter, either. Have you gone to the Vista area to see if there are drives you can download/upgrade?
