  1. When I was a newbie I did not use a GPS or even maps! I kinda just guessed, I only found 3 like this and then I got the app and it helped alot! And for Christmas a nice Garmin Etrex 20, I do still use the app sometimes as there is no need to download caches from the computer.
  2. You've said you want it on your cache page and then say it doesn't show up on your profile? These are two different places. Where do you want the logo? To appear on one of your cache pages or to appear on your profile page? For a cache page the Help Center explains how to use HTML to add images. For your profile, just edit it and add the HTML code and it should then just appear. 3. Well in my area about 80% of the caches are PMO's so for me it is worth it alot, but the caches along a route and FTF features are all great as well! I would if I were you! It also helps Groundspeak host all of the great events for the community!
  4. Hi, I need help getting the GAGB logo onto my cache page, I have copied the HTML from there website, but it is just not showing up on my profile! Does anyone know why this is happening???
  5. Add a "Needs Maintenence" log to the cache page.
  6. Try this: http://www.geocaching.com/about/hiding.aspx and if something is nkt very clear try contacing a reviewer: http://www.geocaching.com/profile/?guid=58f91f8f-f9c7-4427-97bf-890e464b7bb1 hope this helps.
  7. Hi, I have noticed that if a cache is on the border of and area eg. Southern and South East England, you can choose any one and choose your reviewer! However if it is quite far out it will be handed to another reviewer delaying the process. Has anyone else had this and it would be great if a reviewer could explain why they don't use coordinates??
  8. Try contacting a reviewer, they have a wide knowledge of geocaching with lots of finds (on caching profile, not reviewing)and also info on hiding one if you are interested! You can contact a reviewer here:http://www.geocaching.com/profile/?guid=58f91f8f-f9c7-4427-97bf-890e464b7bb1
  9. Winter: Pro(s): Less Bush Wacking Con(s): Freezing cold! (In UK anyway) Summer: Pro(s): Warm, daylight for longer so easier to find more caches Con(s): Lots of bushes and stinging nettles Which do you like more?
  10. Pro GPS: - More accurate - Saves Battery on phone incase you need to make a emergency call - Ability to go directly to a multi cache Pro Smartphone: - Only need to buy app ($11.55) - Works fine with Traditional caches
  11. I use the Garmin Etrex 20 and it shows everything, including entering next stage for multis and a found list. Would highly recomend as never need any paper unless I need to write stuff down.
  12. Should geocachers have to find a resonable amount of caches, say 20, before hiding one, because then they may not know a single thing about waterproofing, good places etc. What are your thoughts???
  13. Act like you are on your phone, or doing up your shoe laces, normally they just say hi and move on.
  14. It's not your fault, they go missing alot, it is most likely that somone has found it, but completly forgot to log the find or the Trackable, it will probally show up soon in a cache and the Trackable will return to normal.
  15. When we met geocachers I say "Don't think I don't know what you are doing" because normally it is very obvious what they are doing, even if they are quite far away from the cache, only yesterday when we were geocaching people walked past and said "watch out for the muggles!". I have also had muggles who know about geocaching talk to us while hunting! Most geocachers are friendly and you will end up looking together, well it would be a bit strange 2 people 3 foot apart both looking in a bush with a GPS in there hands! Happy Caching
  16. Hi, It might just be me, but it seems quite common that TB hotels have little or no TB's, which is quite pointless if you are visiting because you want TB's. Also geocachers are not allowed to use the "Take one leave one rule" in there cache description, as shown by the log here: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/log.aspx?LUID=fb80de64-3faa-493b-b53f-6a9e823dba79 Any opinions???
