I've tried all the things mentioned in other replies, including taking it apart to check the connections, and clean contacts.My GPS connects to the computer, but then a window pops up saying the device attached to the USB port has malfunctioned, then a few minutes later the main menu comes up on the GPS screen. I have gone through the problem of having to connect mulitable times for it to finally connect. There are other issues. 1- Being when I do a reset for the trip computer, everything goes to Zero as it should. But when I check it, say 500m later it may read that I have gone 4.38km, as an example. I do another reset and it is usually fine. 2- Often the compass points in the opposite direction it should, even if I do a recalabration for the compass. Other than that most of the problems I have are because of the operator. May to give up Caching. Do not want to spend another $600.oo plus for a neww GPS
