  1. On adding a maintenance note to one of my cache pages today I saw some information which is nothing to do with my listing. In big red letters it stated The Cache is Not at This Location. there followed graphics of some stages you had to go through to find the cache. I tried to edit the listing but it didnt show up; when I went back to the page and it had disappeared. Then when I opened the page again, there was something completely different with a clickable link (Joint something or other. I tried to edit again, went back and there was yet another strange bit written in German. What the hell is going on? I did notice that before these items there are five symbols on the left hand side of the page: 쮎時쵬耀Ȅ Can anyone explain what is happening and how it can be sorted out? Thanks! (btw its my Rainbow Series Indigo cache that the problem occurred on. I haven't checked any of the others) Tried to go back just now and checked it out, its changed again!! waaaaaahhhhh
  2. I live in the wrong direction for the train journey, unfortunately, its a lovely route; but would love to meet up in Shrewsbury via the train from Aberystwyth. Anyone else intending to travel from this direction?
  3. I was so sad to read that Marzi is no longer with us. He will be missed at the events, such a gentle, patient dog and great with all the kids Team Marzipan caches are always memorable. A group of us got a FTF in Prestatyn at the North Wales Caching Event and it is still my No 1 best ever cache. Only TM could hide a nano in a bicycle tyre and expect you to lever it off in the middle of town on a Saturday afternoon. Classic! That along with Gone Fishing will remain in my caching memory for a long time to come. At TM events there is no expense spared and everything is catered for. the amount of work put into them is incredible, along with the juggling, fire walking and poi , etc Keep em coming TM, we love you
  4. battered to death with an Etrex? That'll teach her for putting a micro in an ivy covered tree! ROFL But that still doesn't explain the link to caching..
  5. That's one of the few good things about caching alone, you find it and you rehide it. I am not keen on huge groups of people passing the cache around for signing, it takes the fun out of it. On the other hand, if you are struggling there's more than one pair of hands in the gorse bush
  6. Point well made. I guess I need to turn off "Grumpy" mode. While I won't be joining you, have a great time, I'm sure it'll be fun. p.s. Interesting, I tried to add more smileys but apparently there's a limit!! With apologies to Neath Worthies, I posted before I saw this..
  7. YAY!! I will try and get to that.I very much enjoyed the WWFM I attended in Birmingham last year and did lots of interesting caches and met up with people whose names I had only ever seen in logs or on the forum. We had a great time and you shouldn't knock it untilyou have tried it. Its not only 15 minutes if you arrive early and spend the day caching. It certainly changed my opinion of Birmingham, which had always been "a dark and dirty place" that I passed through on the train.
  8. I guess it takes all kinds! Personally I think stationary stuff rates among the least inspiring stuff we ever find in a cache Morrisons have some nice 3 for 2 offers in their back to school section. I got a nice fat purple pen, a set of three coloured gel pens and a set of three little character rubbers all for a quid. They are even thoughtfully wrapped in cellophane bags to keep them clean and dry whilst in the cache These items are 50p each noramlly, and they also have pencil sharpeners and mini staplers, as well as ordinary rubbers etc. I don't know many adults who bother swapping stuff and these make great cache fillers for my kids caches.
  9. Oi! Queue jumper! Been waiting 5 days for mine now. *must be patient..must be patient * LOL Hope you all had a great time at the Mega xx
  10. I have a first too.. I placed the first cache in Aberystwyth.. Rainbow Series Violet I believe the first cache in Ceredigion was Cors Cache in Borth (can't remember the name of the person who set it but is now maintained by Tortoiseshell for his brother)
  11. I really should check the forums more often. I have just set a couple of new caches and would love to have been part of this. Neva mind. they don't call Aberystwyth the End of the Line for nothing I shal have to look out for some peach jars to discover instead. But it has given me ideas for new containers
  12. Until the end of September if you take an old tent (any condition) into Millett's you get 20% off the price of a new one. This includes those already reduced in their sale. All items taken in part exchange are sent to Third World countries as emergency shelter. I just bought a Vango Milano 3 for £36, originally £89.99, reduced to £44.99 and an extra £9 off in exchange for my first ever tent.
  13. OH WOW., that was quick.. who collected it?

  19. ROFLMAO. that reminds me of the photo Lord Elph and his multiple selfs in his lounge
  20. ON a happier note, as I have mentioned in another thread, my Abercachers racer TB only did 111 miles before disappearing off the face of the earth. However. months later someone admitted to having found it in an old coat pocket and put it into back into circulation. It was dropped and picked up from a few more caches but the race to get the farthest had already been won. The race was now on to be first to get back home. Ironically, last week the TB that managed to get to New Zealand (the winner) was on its way home and there was only ten miles between that and mine. The holder of mine logged it in and out of several caches in a fortnight to add some mileage and then dropped it off in a "home" cache on Saturday. Thanks to the Thursday Night Gang for their assistance in moving it on and making it first to return home. A VERY HAPPY ENDING, Now to find it another mission and let it see the world (hopefully further than the east midlands this time ) Might send it to see my friend in Phoenix Arizona
  21. Ooooh, Sonatellas, do keep up! They have been in the rotation since Nov 25th 2008! See this thread Mollyjak are still in the mix at the moment too! (only kidding Ozzy I love you really) Going to be looking our for marzi now.. prob seen him lots of times and not realised who he was..
  22. With the rate of muggled caches around these parts theres absolutely NO WAY I would put a camera worth that much in any of my caches.
