  1. Good question! I have been wondering the same thing. I am proud of my longest travelling TB. My Mini Jeepney Travel Bug is up to 47,500 miles and still going. Still, I don't know how it measures up.
  2. "The Mini Jeepney" travel bug of mine is at 33972 miles and still going strong. It's been fun seeing it hop slowly around the globe (Europe, Asia, North America -- now in Saudi Arabia). It's been going since December of 2002.
  3. What are the most miles you've ever had a TB go? My mini-jeepney is up to 28,900. If it makes it back to the US it will have made a complete global circut. It is fun to see this happen. In our family we have 3 of our travel bugs visiting Europe right now.
  4. I went to a dive shop and bought a box made for keeping things dry, while submerged. It has a lifetime leak-proof warrenty, for 100 ft. of depth. My plan is to weigh it down, and toss it off-shore of a lake, at a remote spot, attached to a line, attached to a tree! How does this sound? I have yet to test it and see how it works.
  5. WARNING I WAS BOOTED FROM WERESGEORGE.COM FOR ENTERING A TOKEN LAMINATED GEO DOLLAR THAT I FOUND IN A CACHE. SEE THE BELOW MESSAGE: IT WAS THE FIRST TIME I HAD ENTERED ONE OF THESE: Matt, Due to recent abuse(s) of the Where's George? website, your account at email address has been disabled. 6. I found a mini-Wheresgeorge dollar, laminated, with the name Wild George, and Token #490 (Salt Lake City Utah), written on it. I tried to log it at wheresgeorge.com, but it has been blocked from being logged. I can't seem to find a wya to log it. <A href=http://www.keenpeople.com/stats target=_blank> <IMG SRC=http://www.keenpeople.com/images/gstats1.gif border=0> </A>
  7. My travel bug recently was at a meeting, where everyone viewed it, and everyone who was there logged it. It was a geocaching association meeting, but I think my travel bug may end up with 50 meaningless, motionless logs...it seems ridiculous. Should I delete the logs, or is this normal.
  8. Also, a note regarding the Mini-Jeepney travel bug -- I changed its goal to give you a chance to bring it the the Philippines: "If you have any plans of going to the Philippines to cache, please email me, and I will revise this goal to get the travel bug to a chache near you before your trip." Keep me posted if I can get the travel bug moving your way in time for a trip.
  9. I just got back from Manila where I successfully found the Makati Cache. It hadn't been found for over a year. I posted some photos as well, as the Mini-Jeepney travel bug went with me. I didn't have time for caching, but I did manage to look for three caches. The Ifugao Hut location was closed and guarded, so I had to give that one a no-find. It was fun looking, and satisfying finding the other 2.
  10. Hi everyone! I'm going to Manila in two weeks, and will do my best to find the geocaches, including the ones on Corrigidor. It should be fun. I hope to take some travel bugs along with me as well. I hope they get home. Actually, we may put them in and take them out at the same time.
  11. I will be going caching in Manila at the end of July. I have a travel bug called the "Mini Jeepney". I've never gone caching there before, although last year I was on Corrigidor Island, and wish I had known that there are two caches there.
  12. I am starting a fun, casual group geocaching event, starting at our church, once a month. This is the info on our second outing. Last month we had a blast! Anyone is welcome. Email me if you have any quesitons. Here are the specifics: Sunday, April 6th, 2:30—5:00 p.m. Meet at N 47° 44.021 W 122° 12.461 (WGS84) (EFC Parking lot). Kids are welcome. Bring your hiking boots, a snack and GPS (if you have one). For more information email Matt Messner at mattm@eastsidechurch.org. We will be going to St. Edwards State Park, and will be tackling challenging "Scrabble Cache". We will use walkie-talkies and break up into teams in an effort to solve this one. I will bring the walkie-talkies, and the cache print-outs. Also in the park is "Reverse World" and "Mountain Biking Madness", so we have other options if we complete the Scrabble Cache. Can any of you "de-code" the Reverse World puzzle before we leave? (you'll need a mirror) "Exchange Rate" is a geocache on the church grounds, so you may want to come early and do that one. To learn more about this great sport, go to the website at www.geocaching.com.
  13. Way to go Adrian. Icemonkey & I enjoyed doing the Squeaky cache. You came out and saw us when we were there. I also saw you when you were going to the kittycache. You're a little ahead of me on my caching, and I am way older than you. You'll probably have the world record someday.
  14. My etrex venture screen has been turning black with lines across it when I am using it. If I push some buttons, it will clear up for a while, but the problem keeps re-occuring. Has anyone else had this problem? What did you have to do to fix it? Should I take it back to REI? (I know that it is not a battery or power problem).
