  1. I have lost all my data when I got a new phone and my lists on Geocaching. Could someone explain how I can find and create a new list of all the caches I own. Thank you
  2. Thanks everyone. We want to pin a log in top position to all our caches. We have over a 1000 and want to add the same log to all of them - we can do this via GSAK Publish logs but we also want to be able to pin it to the top . In any new caches we will put this note in the description but we want a way to pin a log in our present caches. This could be used as an option for cache owners to add an important note in a log which is kept at the top for various reasons ranging from Asking for help to maintain a cache while owner is away for an extending period, putting a cache up for adoption or simply to remind cachers to try and keep the log dry when they are writing on it.
  3. Hi as cache owners we were wondering if there was a way to keep a permanent log on the top position of all logs on a particular cache. We want to display a permanent instruction in addition to the one we have in the description or hint box. Anyone know if there is a way of doing this. Any help appreciated.
  4. Had a go on GSAK today - got myself in a right muddle but the help on its support forum was amazing ..I am on a steep learning curve but getting there. Thanks again.
  5. Thanks everyone for your advice and help on this. We do not process the log for each cache immediately after we have checked it because we are normally too busy heading to the next one that is why we were looking for something to help us batch log them once we were home. Thank you to The A Team for your suggestion about GSAK Publish Logs - this sounds like what we need so we are going to play around with this using a couple of logs , as you suggested until we get the hang of it. Thanks again .
  6. Hi We own over a thousand caches and we allocate one whole day each week to systematically going to our caches in a particular area and checking to see if they are ok. Sometimes this can mean that we check up to 50 caches in one day depending upon season of the year/daylight hours. When we get back we then have all the logs to write up. Some that have needed particular maintenance are written up individually but most of the logs are the same saying cache checked today and is in good order. Having to write this out on individual cache pages is very time consuming. Is there a way that cache owners can write a generic log on all their caches or batches of them in one go? It would be nice if there was a way of doing this to save time after a day spent checking. It is not the actual write up that takes time because if it is generic it can be copied and pasted it is having to go into each cache page that takes the time. Any magic formulas out there we could use? If not we had better resume the logging process!
  7. Hi I am writing up a cache description for a cache I am placing and I want to put a diagram in the cache description box as it is an Earth Cache which needs extra info. How do I insert a diagram or photo into the description box. Also how do I write headings in bold - I copied and pasted into the description box but my headings did not come out in bold. Is there a symbol I must use like when setting paragraphs? Any help appreciated.
  8. Thanks everyone for your help. I really appreciate it.
  9. Hi how do you set up a series that others can add to...for example like The Village Hall Series or a Fine Pair Series. I am interested in creating one and apart from hiding the first one in the series I do not know what to do next. Any advice appreciated.
  10. Thanks for the advice..will contact the reviewer.
  11. Hi A little while ago I had to contact the National Trust to ask permission to place a cache. They emailed me consent and I put a copy of the email in the reviewer's section so that they could see it was ok to enable. I foolishly deleted my own copy of the email and I was wondering if there is any way to access the original log sent to the reviewer on the cache before it was enabled so that I could get a copy of the permission granted email. I suppose I could email the reviewer again but I do not like to bother them as they are already very busy. Any help appreciated -
  12. Hi how do I find a list of archived caches either by location or owner name? Any help appreciated.

  18. Hi everyone. We have hidden over 700 caches but often come up with a problem when we first input our coordinates on the Hide a Cache page. If we input coordinates that are too near another cache immediately it comes up with a message to tell us that we need to relocate our cache because it is too near another one. This is great because it saves us a great deal of time. We very rarely get this message because we have already located nearby caches but it is good to get a message when we have miscalculated. However what is really annoying is when you hide a cache in a place and its location is ok because there are not other real caches too near. You complete all the details on the Hide a Cache page, have put your cache out in its location and then send it for review. The annoying part is when the reviewer then tells you you cannot place it in the location you have selected because a cache is nearby - not a normal cache but one which is part of a hidden multi stage. I just wish that the part stage caches linked to multis would show up when you input your coordinates on the Hide a Cache page like they do for normal whole caches. The reviewer then has to send it back so we can relocate it. It would waste far less time if the Geocaching page would flag up the hidden part stages of multi caches when you input your coordinates like it does for the others. Why doesn't the Hide a cache page flag these part stages? All it needs to say is that there is a cache too near please relocate even if it is a part stage of a multi. Sorry to rant on but it wastes a lot of time especially for our reviewers who work very hard on our behalf. Is there a way round this?
  19. Thanks everyone for your comments. I guess my trackable was picked up by someone who decided to put it on online showing its code. It seems very odd...much better to find them in caches and move them on. Just think the people who put the trackables online should check with the owner first. Happy caching everyone.
  20. I keep getting emails saying cachers have discovered one of my trackables online. I did not put my trackable online so cannot understand how cachers discover it online. Can anyone offer an explanation.
