  1. I'd like to find useful (or at least new) stuff like mini first-aid kits, flashlights, geocaching pins, stickers, etc., or anything unusual and just plain cool. Basically anything that hasn't been beat to heck and looks ready for the trash would be an upgrade from what I've been finding; soggy band-aids, golf balls, a spider rings, rubber lizards. I work for LEGO, and often leave BIONICLE, EXOFORCE, and the like, I've also left jewelry, candles, foreign coins, batteries, etc. But with the junk I've been finding, I often TNLN. As much as I enjoy the hunt, it would be nice to have a keepsake from each cache I find.
  2. I saw a blurb in Shape magazine and bought a GPS that afternoon
  3. I drive an Audi TT Roadster if I'm hiking, or an Audi A4 if I'm bringing my mountain bike. I usually hike, because the drive is more fun:
  4. I'm 31, and my husband is 31; no kids to skew the average
  5. My first caching day was easy because I knew the area. Now there are some caches that I'd like to go after, but the owner doesn't give parking coordinates, just the cache coordinates. How do I nail down the general area and where to park? I've been to google maps and mapquest, but it's not helping. Sorry if this is a stupid question.
  6. I'm brand new to this and have been carrying my GPS and a backpack containing: water, bug spray, cell phone, pen, notebook, print outs of cache info and hints, digital camera, and swag.
  7. Thanks for your replies, can't wait to see who we'll meet! It's been a long time since I've been this excited about anything. It's like Goonies, without the pirate ship & "rich stuff". Funny you should say that, my husband constantly accuses me of being "Type A"
  8. I'm curious as to how you plan a day of geocaching. People have mentioned several caches in the same park, just wondering how you identify all of the caches in the area. Sorry if this is a stupid question. I'm brand new to this, still waiting on my GPS to be delivered, but I'm trying to plan a geocaching day for Saturday and want to figure out as much as possible ahead of time. Thanks!
  9. I just found out about geocaching this past weekend in Shape magazine. Hopefully my GPS will be here by the weekend, this seems like just the hobby I've been looking for. It seems that a lot of geocachers are families with kids. Is this the main demographic? Just curious because noone I know does this or has heard of it. My husband and are in our early 30's, no kids and are looking forward to meeting other cachers
