  1. Sounds like he's just lazy. If he doesn't replace it and deletes the logs, nobody looking will be the wiser.
  2. Mark a waypoint. The listed coordinates are the devices current location. Copy those.
  3. You have to go to edit where your email is. Add the new one. Go and verify the new one. Return to edit screen. Click "make primary" next to new one. Then you can delete your current one.

    New Bugs

Thanks! A really hot soldering iron. Melt several of the "both sides" fairly close together, and make sure you do one on each end that pops up as well.

    New Bugs

Howdy, just an update for anybody interested: I've made my first bug, here he is: I have a hole drilled through a thicker part of the center, and key-rings passing through them. There are two, so it can be rotated easily enough to flip the tog both ways. When I attach the Travel Goal Card I will be melting the rings closed, so they would have to be cut off. Let me know what you think! Here is his reference number if you wanna give it a look: TB4JRWN. Thanks!
  6. <rant> I can't join or find information on my local organization. Apparently, there is one. And not very open to saying what they do or where they meet. It's also "invite-only". It just makes it a bit frustrating when you actually want to get involved locally! </rant>
  7. I completely agree! Didn't find it & sign it? Don't say you did. Pretty straight-forward concept, ha ha. It is actually posted in the guidelines that you can't require somebody to place a cache to find yours. They must be available to everybody and not just cache owners. I don't know if you could find a loop-hole with your reviewer or not. But, if you could, I think it would be a pretty cool idea to get everybody more involved locally. You could also consider making a "challenge" to place a new cache in your area. Just a thought. Not quite the same though.
  8. Agreed. People should just be nice. All y'all can say and do as y'all please. It don't hurt nobody. I actually think its a good idea to have a group or get together. Not to exclude y'alls selves but to do something with people you have more than just geocaching in common with. For the same reason I would like a singles cachet event. It's more specific and people will have a lot more of the same interests. Ps, not that anybody cares, but I'm not GBLT, but I've had my fair share of defending some close to me that are.
  9. I like the idea! I usually have to go by myself, and that would be a great way to socialize with people more my age & into the same interests.
  10. I was walking away with a log today from an ammo can cache. I noticed though & replaced.
  11. Never take a cache without permission. Tell the owner of the problem. I have had to take one only once but I was uneasy about it: It was on somebody's fence and he questioned me when he saw me looking. He said if I didn't take it he would throw it away and continue to do so if replaced. I contacted the owner to inform them & give them their cache so they could move it or talk to him.
  12. If you have a premium membership, go to your statistics tab. It sorts your finds by size, difficulty etc. you can use this to later search for harder, difficult terrain or sizes you've yet to find. It really helps in becoming a well-rounded cacher to find a variety of types by different owners. Also, you usually get a sense for a certain owners hiding style after some time. You'll start to notice who placed it & look for the similarities of their other hides. <edited for grammatical errors>
  13. I generally ignore all micros hanging in trees, as it really takes no talent to hide & is just honestly a pain in retrieving. The ones I have found, however, tend to be bison tubes wrapped in some type of camo, or a smaller tube in a crevasse somewhere. There's also the rare fakes: pinecones, leaves, bugs & even bark.
  14. Premium memberships are awesome. And you can access most of the perks from the app. Plus you can search and log PMO caches from your phone as well. That's always nice when you're somewhere to make sure you get them all.
  15. Anything that's not edible, stolen, scented, a rock or condoms is general okay. Sadly I've seen all of these.
  16. I use it all the time for spontaneous caching. I prefer my Garmin, as it's more accurate. Use the official app, it's worth the 9.99, it works a lot better than a default gps app. You can see hint and log them etc. it will usually get you ~20' though. I wouldn't recommend hiding a cache with your phone, as it will not get your finders quite as close.
  17. I'd say it could be either, up to you. Just please don't put log-only caches as small!
  18. There are ways around the PO to look at them, but they don't always work
  19. While scavenging a fire hydrant for a nano, I had a police officer stop and ask what we were doing. We explained to him, showed him the nano, and give him the information to the website. He actually thought it was cool, and helped us find the next one .1miles away.
  20. You can make a bookmark list. Then, from your profile, you can click "lists" and it will be right there, under your favorites. EDIT: http://www.geocaching.com/my/lists.aspx
  21. Howdy. I'm compiling a list of historical caches around my area; ghost towns, abandoned railroads, WWII camps, etc. I have a cache that fits into this category. Is it okay to put my own cache on the list for others to find? Or is that considered bad form? It's not to advertise it; it's simply because the cache is indeed historical. Let me know what y'all think. Thanks in advance.
  22. Teenage muggles that were quite fond of each other.. =/
  23. I've seen many, many rattle snakes. Most don't bother you, just give you a friendly "warning". Some will, though. When hiking with the little ones, we barely missed a strike. Being 100 miles from any town, that would NOT have been fun! Reasons we never hike unarmed anymore.
