  1. Aloha! I'll be landing at Kailua-Kona on April 11th; staying for two weeks. I would love to check out some of the hikeable caches on the Island; however, I'm traveling with a non-hiker-non-cacher, and not too thrilled with the idea of hiking alone in unfamiliar territory. If any of the cachers (either resident or visiting) would be interested in doing some hiking with me during my stay, I would thoroughly enjoy the opportunity. Thanks! Sue
  2. Hi, mi.lli! Who is your cell service provider? They all add customizations to the base rom for the device that could be causing a conflict. If we know which one it is, we can start trying to rule out possible issues that may be preventing the install. Once we get that ironed out, then we can work on the RealVGA and the GPS settings parts... Sue
  3. What is the policy on cartridges that are based on copyrighted material such as books or movies? I can see where this might have legal ramifications that wouldn't be such an issue with a geocache...
  4. My eXplorist XL just came up with this problem (for the second time) today, too. I have already had it repaired for this issue once (according to the tech support idiot I ended up on the phone with, the display was replaced). It has never gotten wet, so I can pretty much guarantee that this is not the problem with mine. I am supposedly getting a prepaid shipping label via email for the return this time, although it has not yet arrived after two hours, and a call back from a supervisor to discuss further options. I'm giving them until Monday before they experience my wrath! I've been cruising the forums both here and at the GBA to see if anyone else had this problem with a Magellan unit -- so far, you're the first I've found (other than me, that is!)... I would appreciate finding out what they tell you about getting yours repaired, as I expect that this will be a recurring problem with mine, and it would be good to know what they're gonna want to soak me for once the warranty runs out this summer.
  5. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...73-580839667895 GCQ879 is the one I was trying to find today...
  6. I can't seem to find the answer anywhere. I made my first attempt at finding a "blinker" cache today, without any luck. My GPSr was telling me that I was basically parked right on top of it. I've seen references to "blinkers" on some of the other cache pages, but I am unclear as to what distinguishes these from other caches? Thanks in advance to all of you more experienced folks!
