  1. Hello - until recently I was a Cacher in it for the hunt..... with the introduction of the Coin Logger I will once again be seeking to discover coins. However in the last week I have become fascinated with Path Tags. If any one has any they are willing to send my way I would gladly pay for postage or meet to pick them up. Looking to expand my collection and learn about the creators. Hopefully they'll inspire a great path tag for myself sometime in the coming year. Also seeking some more of the SLC Geocoin Fest pathtags for trading purposes Please feel free to contact me. sorry if this off topic ----UTDarcy
  2. Sorry Didn't mean to Offend. Men & Woman of Honor seemed a bit too long for a cache name. I'll make sure I include Woman in the cache pages & descriptions. As for Fort Jackson I was there in the mId 80's
  3. Just my two cents..... I think for most it is a Hobby - something we do to pass the time. For some though it is a game. Those who do Puzzles, and multi's and such could be considered Gamers. then for a select few it has become a sport. How many can they find, or how hard can they make it to find a cache or going after the infamous 5/5 caches. all in all I think it is a combination of the three. It is more of a Gaming hobby that involves some sportsmanship. I mean after all couldn't we just log the same 50 caches 100 times and say we found 5000 caches ??????? there is a degree of sportsmanship in the geocache society written or not. So my final asnwer is ---- it is a Recreational Activity as previously stated
  4. Hello, My name is UTDARCY (Utah Darcy - Damian Darcy is my full name) As a former Search & Rescue Technician, EMT, and former Military man I wanted to pay tribute to those who serve. There are those who serve here and abroad. I have gathered 50 + Little Green Army men. By little I mean 1" tall by 1/2 to 1 3/4" wide by 1/2" thick. I have attached small 1.7 ML Microcentrifigal cache containers to them. Each will have a unique Cache Name beginning with "Men Of Honor" then a job title. A few examples are Men Of Honor - Astronaut ( being released in Florida) ** Men Of Honor - Medic ** Men Of Honor - Comunications Specialist ** Men Of Honor - Special Forces ** Men Of Honor - Armored Division.... ect ect ect. I will also include a Men Of Honor - Recruitment Soldier as well as various ranks, Private, Sargeant, Captain ect. I have numerous Geocachers who have graciously accepted my invite to help place and maintain these caches. I just wanted to see what other have to say about this project. Please post your remarks. --- This is not politically driven but rather a tribute to those who put themselves at risk from someone who has been where they are...... Thank you. D. Darcy
  5. Last year Myself and a group of other Geocachers ( too many to LIst - but thank you all of you ) hiked to the GEOCACHE " TOP OF THE WORLD TRADE CENTER" as a Retired NYC Emergency Medical Technician Sept 11th will always hold a special meaning and memory for me. To have spent this day with such great people doing something I greatly enjoy meant so much to me. In tribute to those great folks and to all those who lost their lives I would like to Hike to this cache once again If anyone is interested please e-mail me. I will contact the folks from last year and hopefully we can hike this again. Lat year I had hoped to Wear my uniform but I did not. In the last year some health concerns and watching a few older movies, I have come to realize that Sept 11th has had a permanent impact upon my life. THE UNIFORM has been RETIRED - the pins / Badge / and most of the patches now hang in a frame on my wall. ANYONE interested in a MEMORIAL SEPT 11th HIKE please let me know. Last year we began around 6 PM and returned to our vehicles around 9:30 PM Let's make this an annual event and Hike to the top of Flag rock to pay our respects to those who GAVE ALL for their fellow man. " All gave Some - Some gave All " --- Not my Quote but a good one. Thank you - Emergency Medical Tech. retired Damian Darcy N.Y. Badge # 246678
