  1. Have you thought about becoming an officer in the group, and getting it active again? Thanks for the idea but it is to far gone... [] What group are you talking about? I don't remember now but I'm gone now. Thanks for your reply. j

  3. Go to the group details for the group you wish to leave. Scroll to where you see your name in the list of group members, and click your name. At the bottom of the member page, click the "Quit this group" link. Thank you for your help! I couldn't seem to find that link!
  4. How does one go about leaving an inactive group?
  5. The few power trails we've got in Idaho start out nice enough and then they need owner maintenance. If a power trail isn't maintained (and I don't think many people with over 300 hides will do good maintenance) it gets old real fast finding wet and/or moldy, dirty, cracked, broken caches.

    RIVERCACHER

Mike, Mikey, RC, Rivercacher, you and your 3 girls are 4 of our most favorites! I'm right there with Robert crying, have been for days. If you can imagine with with a dreadful cold and a snotty nose, bawling, and making it even worse, well, that is where I am at. Al and I love you and your girls and would give anything to see a different outcome than what seems to be ahead. One thing we will never forget is that cache run to the Spring Fling and the visit to Seattle with you one weekend. You will always be in our thougts and prayers and forever in our hearts and memories. Jer
  10. Hi Robert, We still have one of your coins that you gave us when we met you for coffee on the way back from the Spring Fling with Rivercacher. I didn't realize we had it until just a few days ago and am planning on donating it to the Black Canyon Luau event. That is happening on August 1 and it is near Boise! I hope you can make it! BTW, we lost 3 bicyclists in Boise this past month. Terrible. J
  11. Recently the discussion came up about logging archived or disable caches. Some folks felt that if the cache was found and the log was signed, regardless of the status of the cache, it could legitimately be logged on the site. I've searched the forums for this answer and don't seem to see anything that pertains to this. My thought on this was that if I had archived or disabled the cache, I didn't want people to go there until I could do owner maintenance or remove or replace the cache. Any ideas?
  12. Sometimes it does seem like that doesn't it! Having replaced some of our caches 4-5 times because people didn't 'use stealth' and were muggled, the caches started to shrink in size and interest. One really cute cache we had became compromised and now it is a lame film container under said rock. The history is still there. The numbers are still there. But someone ran up and grabbed it right in front of others and now it cannot keep its place. Perhaps we should just archive it and forget it. But then - what would you prefer Lame cache or No cache?
  13. Log the danged thing and get it off your radar! I would wait until several had already found it tho. And then mention what you are doing and why in your log! We have a couple situations like that as well and those green boxes bug us to! If folks are going to get their knicker bunched over a couple caches like that, well puhleeeeze! Besides! It is all about having fun isn't it? Just my two cents!
  14. I like the unknown cache idea and that would give a coin or bug a little more protection from those who steal coins and bugs. Sounds like a lot of work and rather confusing - I'm easily confused tho! About the paper coins or bugs, whatever! I don't go for the coin or bug only. I go for the thrill of finding. Anything! First of all tho, will paper really solve anything? I don't think so. I do know people who are so obsessed with their trackable totals that they have made other people 'turned off' with even discovering them. These (coin/bug-hogs as some call them) will gather and trade back-packs full of bugs on a regular basis. They will stalk you for your new numbers! Yippers! And if they find a bug they have already had, they won't move it or mention it again (same thing will happen with paper coins/bugs). Not moving or discovering a trackable isn't fair to the trackables owner, IMVHO. It is nice to find those pretty coins and be able to hold them, touch them, share with others. However, having lost several coins and bugs, I can safely say that I will most likely NEVER release another coin into the wild to have some unscrupulous cacher or muggle steal it. I think is is stupid- yes - stupid! to expect someone to release $8-$10 plus coins or bugs only to have them dissapear time after time. I have a wishing well that gives me more joy than tossing those bugs and coins in caches! With gas at $3.50 and rising and coins/bugs at $5, its a spendy little hobby. Alot of people cannot afford that! Right now, I'm not even activating my new ones and I know several others who are not either. That's alot like hoarding ? is that the word ??? But then there is the cache owner who place rules on their caches - trade fair or blah-blah-harm will come to you! Their cache - your bug! Or oh yes - get mad at you and take your bug to a 5 terrain puzzle cache! Paper won't solve that either! So proxy? Sure! Maybe? It's a way to share a coin or bug with less financial pain and risk. Make a copy or picture of it, laminate it nicely - and let it go. I may or may not move a paper/proxy however, those who are about the numbers - well, they can go for it. Those who are not just about numbers can come meet me for coffee in person and admire those coins in real life! At least with paper, the coins/bugs will get shared. N2life
  15. We would love to have one of your new coins! Please keep us posted on details, ok? N2life
