  1. This one went through PA & Ohio recently... http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...fd-f9cc940ae97f Drove south about an hour just to grab this one. Had to see one of these at least once. I also made one of my own for our local GeoCache group (NWPA GeoCachers) and it's been moved 11 times now in the Erie area. Everyone seems to be enjoyng it.
  2. Started in September of 2002... 2002 - 29 finds & 2 hides 2003 - 572 finds & 8 hides 2004 - 4 finds & 4 hides (good start already, plus I just found my 25th FTF cache today! Wahoo!)
  3. The weirdest thing I ever found was a Scalp Massager. It's made of thick copper wire and I had no idea what it was when I first looked at it. Just had to take it once I read what it was. Strange contraption! Here's a picture of one that I found at The Happy Company... http://www.thehappycompany.com/product_lin...ge_headtrip.htm I also found a Remote Finder in a cache. The only thing is, what happens if you lose the Remote Finder? A friend of mine took Pork Chops from a cache that we found together. I don't think I'd ever eat anything found in a cache (Shouldn't be food in a cache anyway) but he thought it was wild.
  4. Wow! How did you know about the NWPA GeoCachers and our t-shirts? I'm a member of NWPA and I actually print those shirts (I run my own screen printing shop). I do have some extras tees printed up at my shop if you come up to Erie on your way west. I also have a cache right in my front yard to make things even better. As Captain Chaos said, we have had a large number of new caches in the Erie area lately. I just hid 4 new ones myself a couple days ago. Good luck on your journey!
  5. Hey Mastifflover... Just read your comments about not many caches near you and that you planned on going to Erie to find more. I just hid 4 more caches yesterday and there's lots more in the area already. Come on by! South Buffalo has alot of caches as does the Cleveland area where I have hit alot lately. Btw. I found the cache that you just adopted back in early November and it was my first snow cache this season. Found alot more since then. Cya!
  6. Just adding another ditto here. I'd love to be able to remove the found caches from the map too. Funny thing is, I thought I was able to do that recently but now I can't duplicate it. Oh well.
  7. I found a remote finder. You attach a part to your remote and if you misplace the remote you press a button on the remote finder which makes the part on the remote beep. The thing is... What do I do if I lose the remote finder remote? http://www.tprints.com Top 5% Web Site/Top 50 Game Site
  8. Here's what I get with the one webcam I found... 1) Number of caches next to my name on the webcam web page is correct. 2) Total cache page (from search of my name) doesn't add any webcams. 3) My statistic page has correct number of webcams but clicking on the icon brings up none unlike other cache types. 4) Webcan stills shows up on Filter Finds Search. 5) Webcam shows up on search all close caches but without the found checkmark. 6) My log on the webcam page shows a camera icon instead of a smiley which 2 earlier found logs show. http://www.tprints.com Top 5% Web Site/Top 50 Game Site
  9. Oh goody! I was beginning to wonder about these webcam stats. The one I found recently is still not being added to my total finds. Thanks for looking into it. http://www.tprints.com Top 5% Web Site/Top 50 Game Site
  10. Howdy Facedances! Facedances' webcam is the one I can't get to register as a find. Neither can anyone else since the first two finders. I believe these first two logged their finds before the recent changes at Geocaching. Does anyone know what's up? http://www.tprints.com Top 5% Web Site/Top 50 Game Site
  11. Any new info on webcam logging yet? I still don't see an option to log a find so it's still not being added to my total finds. Thanks! http://www.tprints.com Top 5% Web Site/Top 50 Game Site
  12. I still have the same problem as earlier that it's not being added to my total number of caches. But... it may now be because the hider accidently archived the webcam page. As soon as it's back up I'll report back here. http://www.tprints.com Top 5% Web Site/Top 50 Game Site
  13. Just checked and it also doesn't show up in my total under a search for Caches found by username. http://www.tprints.com Top 5% Web Site/Top 50 Game Site
  14. It's the same as Dixie's Crew post. My log is on the webcam cache page but the logo looks like a camera instead of the happy face found logo. The main problem is that I don't see the cache on my recently logged caches list... and it still shows up on a search for nearest caches not found list. Also, when I click on webcams under my stat page I see no finds there even though the previous page says 1 find. http://www.tprints.com Top 5% Web Site/Top 50 Game Site
  15. I'm running into the same problem on another webcam... Facedances webcam (GCGVEC) http://www.tprints.com Top 5% Web Site/Top 50 Game Site
  16. Howdy fellow GeoCachers! I have a request for a Chcago area geocacher that'll nab a find for both of us. I'm attempting a Locationless (Reverse) Cache that requires teamwork of 2 geocachers in 2 different locations. The cache is named "Where's In A Name?" and you can take a look at at it here... Where's in a Name? I have already converted my name into coords as instructed and the line intersects Chicago. Now I need someone to make their way to the line and to take a picture of the coords on their GPS so we can both get a find. If anyone is interested is helping out (and getting a find) please contact me soon. Thanks! http://www.tprints.com Top 5% Web Site/Top 50 Game Site
  17. Just asking for opinions on a new Multicache in my area. It's 3 parts with the 2nd micro-container having an email address inside. You must send an email to the hider using this address and then wait for him to respond with the final coord before you can continue to the final cache. There is no mention of this email step in the write up, just a vague mention that it may not be possible to complete this cache in one day. Of course you may have already guessed that I think this really sucks. Any other opinions? Here's the cache... http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=27d56a22-a163-40ff-b86b-b7d585bdb6aa http://www.tprints.com Top 5% Web Site/Top 50 Game Site
  18. I upgraded my Legend to 2.50 a couple weeks back and noticed lotsa problems getting a satelite lock. It would take quite awhile to get even a couple satelites and once I finally got the "Ready" sign my accuracy would be like 80 feet. Just before contacting Garmin I thought I'd try uploading the last upgrade I used which was Legend_2_43_Beta. Right away my Legend began working the way it used to. I get quick locks and my accuracy is back to 20 feet and below. Anyone else have any problems since upgrading to 2.50? Anyone know why this release would screw up my Legend like it did? Thanks! http://www.tprints.com Top 5% Web Site/Top 50 Game Site [This message was edited by Tprints on December 23, 2002 at 01:26 PM.]
  19. I've managed to hook up my Legend with my Laptop and it works great for a large GPS screen in my Chevy Tracker. Thanks to those that helped out on a previous thread. What I'd like to find out is if there is a setting somewhere that I'm missing in Mapsource that will allow Track Up viewing as in my Legend itself. My Metroguide maps in Mapsource on my Laptop is always set at North Up. I prefer Track Up where the map rotates around your marker which is always headed for the top of the screen. I have a feeling that this is only possible on the GPS and not on the Laptop. Anyone know if this is true or if not, how I can change it? Thanks! http://www.tprints.com Top 5% Web Site/Top 50 Game Site
  20. Thanks to all you guys. I already have Metroguide and have loaded maps into my Legend but never saw that real-time tracking feature. Guess it pays to "rtfm" sometimes. I've been using Metroguide to make "Auto-Routes" and it's kinda cool but I really wanted to see if I could use my Laptop's viewing screen since the Legend's is a bit on the small side, especially while driving. Now it looks like I'll have to buy one of the combo DC Power/Serial cable connectors to replace my regular Serial connector. I also need a DC power connector for my laptop and then a splitter for my cigarette socket so I can plug both the GPS and my laptop in at the same time. Quite a savings from having to buy a new receiver. Thanks again! http://www.tprints.com Top 5% Web Site/Top 50 Game Site
  21. Is it possible to connect a Garmin Etrex Legend & a Laptop for Auto Navigation? I'd like to view the constantly updating map on the laptop screen and use my Legend to receive the satellite signals. I see that there are receivers that you can buy for this purpose, namely Radio Shacks DigiTraveler, DeLorme's Earthmate, and Navman's E-Series. Is it possible to use my Legend instead of buying one of these above items. If not, I plan on just using my Laptop to make auto-routes on the road and for easier viewing of maps. Thanks in advance! http://www.tprints.com Top 5% Web Site/Top 50 Game Site
  22. If you have a Big Lots near you (or check any other discount store) look for a Coby CA-M290 CELLULAR PHONE HOLDER. I just picked one up for $4.99 and it works great. My buddy saw it and also grabbed one. Here's a link to it at Coby's web site... http://www.cobyusa.com/handfree/cam290.htm http://www.tprints.com Top 5% Web Site/Top 50 Game Site

  25. Just what the subject states... I'm looking for any cache sites that a wheelchair could reach in the Erie area. I would like to take my father along to show him what geocaching is like. It's not easy to tell which sites are by reading the descriptions. Thanks! http://www.tprints.com Top 5% Web Site/Top 50 Game Site
