I just visied the pirates web site. How long have they been plundering caches? Has anyone tried to talk any sense into them? Does anyone even know who they are? This is just disgusting. Here in Northern Virginia the stream and runs are all at record levels. There are lots of caches near water level on a lot of these creeks. It was placed before the official end of the drought, and right before the freeze. Once everything thawed, it was no longer accessable via the means identified by the hider. Actually there is a third cache already in the park. Not many have found it, and don't ask me too many questions, cause I'm not giving it away. I enjoyed and visited the stats sight often. Right before it went down GLM (the previous poster), passed me in the Virigina rankings, and I said to myself, "Good for him!" Now, I've been out a few times and wonder if I'm closing the gap on him or not, and I just can't tell. Not a big deal really, but it would be nice to know. I know at least one Geocacher (team) who is definitely interested in stats. He had to go to Illinois to get it. I took him a whole year to accomplish this feat too. I know he's disappointed not to get to 365, but 300 is a major accomplishment in one year.
