  1. Thanks for the hints gang....looks like I have all the info I need now...With GSAK installed on the laptop in the truck, and a couple of smart pocket queries..I am all set. Now I just look at a querie in GSAK, if thats what I want to do, then I start Delorme, find my way to the general area with the in car system, load the coordinates in the handheld, and poof! I am on the hunt!!! Thanks!!! Tim AG4RZ
  2. Newb here, with a couple of questions: 1. Is there a way to grab all the data of of a cache's page without having to manually go to each page and d/l the PDF file? meaning, can I somehow download all the info for "nnn" caches that are returned when I do a search? 2. What is the bare minimum memory suggested for geocaching with a palm type device? I have no need for a palm other than for caching, so I will be looking at the used market... 3. If there is a way to grab all of a cache's data (not just the waypoints...I mean the description, everything..) can I use easygps or something similar to manage all the data? The reason I ask is my laptop is mounted in my vehicle, and if I can easily D/L and get to the data for a cache, then I wont need a Palm. Its getting old having to manually D/L all the info on a cache, and I figure someone with a lot more experience than I at this neat game/hobby/pastime/sport/etc/etc has already figured this one out. Any and all suggestions and help appreciated!! Tim AG4RZ
  3. Thanks for the warm welcome, Gang...I had to make some changes from my normal outdoor gear, thats for sure. Instead of carring spare Warn hubs and axles, I had to load up on cool trinkets. At least the Geo-swag is way lighter to hump into the woods! Tim AG4RZ

  5. Well, since I am a newbie Geocacher, I will keep you in mind while I am hunting for the next month or so. There are several clusters in the area I have mapped out. (I use Delorme's Street atlass 2006, and convert all the LOC files into comma seperated value (CSV) files to upload to my address book so I can maximize my time I get to spend. Anyway, if you shoot me the waypoint of one of the caches in that cluster off of University, (or any others you might be interested in) I will see if I can check them out and give you an idea of the terrain. Gone Fishing II is a hoot...a park and grap, and though I dont want to spoil it, I will say it is a very appropriate title.
  6. Try this one for a neat and easy find...If you are familiar at all with Clemmons, this one will be fun...Might have to scope out the area and return depending on the time. Waypoint: GCWJZC no danger of hurting yourself looking for it, nice theme, and fun find. TIm AG4RZ
  7. Hello...new Geo-Hunter here. Name is Tim, amateur radio callsign AG4RZ, and my Wife, Brandy. We started yesterday, and have found 5 caches since 2:00pm yesterday afternoon. I just wanted to say hello, and we are looking forward to this fun activity! Tim and Brandy
