I have been caching since the end of July, and I haven't gotten too many caches because I don't always have someone to cache with. I would love to go out more, but it creeps me out to be in the woods alone! I have talked to a lot of people I know about geocaching, but I have yet to have anyone take me up on going out! I have met several cachers at a meet and greet, but to be honest, I was intimidated by them. They were all very nice, but these people could find more caches in one day, than I had in 6 months! I am sure if I were to go out with them, they would become frustrated because it still takes me a while to figure things out (although, I am getting better). Any suggestions?

I know a lot of people don't like the happy meal stuff, but a lot of kids do, so I say keep that stuff in the caches, besides, they have become "collectible toys" and some are worth quite a bit. Personally, I like unique and unusual stuff. Like others have mentioned, I like a like of personally made things, too. I also like foreign money, geocoins, and TBs, too. I'm getting ready to place a cache relating to Boy Scouts ( my older son is an Eagle Scout and the younger one is working on his Bear Scout) because it is the 100th birthday of scouting this year and I am putting in camping supplies, geocoins, a TB, and some pins. I wanted one of those Boy Scout knife geocoins, but I can't seem to pick one up, so I am putting in another regular scout geocoin. If anyone has any suggestions for this cache, feel free to email me.

At least you knew who took your coin and what happened to it. Mine just disappeared into thin air. I went back to check at the last known site, and one of the comments I read was, "I didn't find any geocoins or TBs".

Wow! These look great! Since the mint had a problem making the names legible, did you notice when you got them that you could read the names? The colors look outstanding. I can't wait to get these. Any idea when they are going to be out, since there isn't going to be a presale? Someone posted a picture of a snake on an ammo box. I think it was referred to as "The Cache Guardian". . .which I thought was a very appropriate title. When I was in FL, looking for a cache, which was around rocks and water, I saw a water moccasin. Personally, I hate snakes (even though I know snakes provide assistance in the balance of nature) but after a few minutes, I regained my composure and found the cache. It made me realize that when I am around those elements, I use a stick to poke around, not my hands.

I have been intrigued by various geocaching names and was wondering how everyone went about picking their geocaching name. Is it still appropriate now? Do you wish you had picked another name? Just curious.

I am a member of the geocoinclub and the geoswag coins&pins club. These are the only 2 geocoin clubs I know of. I am new to geocaching and collecting geocoins and I thought this would be a good way to get my collection going. I joined in November and received coins for Dec. I haven't gotten anything for Jan. and to be honest, I am not even sure how these clubs work.

I second this opinion! I mentioned this a week or so ago (a couple times) but never got a response. I have the feeling that some of the colors may already have been promised but don't know for sure. A luck-of-the-draw method is the only way that would end up being fair to all participants. Otherwise, some people will get special treatment (so what else is new). As always, this is just my opinion, I could be worng! Edit: Removed irrelevant content. I'm sorry I didn't reply. We've been moving kinda slow on this project to allow it to fill up, and also because it's planned for later in the summer time. As far as I know, no colors have been promised to anyone, including myself, even though I am particular to one color as used in the preliminary art. I will be as fair as I possibly can be. There will always be someone who gets upset or feels left out as I noticed in my mailbox coin. But I will do my best (and if it's not good enough I'll likely keep trying till it is.) Not only are you creative and artistic, but you are such a caring and sensitive person! I loved your comment s to Rubicon. . .Thank you.
