  1. One Eyed Jack came out with his personal about the same time that I was designing the Jack coin. To be fair to him I went on to produce the Queen and Ace instead before working on the geocoinstore's Jack coin. There was no point in making people choose between a personal and commercial coin and style-wise they will have very little in common other than a theme. I love creating coins, but I don't think it would be cool at all to go head to head with a personal coin, ever. In keeping with that, I've made a point to avoid the One Eyed Jack card art and will go with a face-on Jack Wow! That was very gracious of you! I have the King, the Queen, and I just purchased the Ace. I can't wait to see the Jack. In fact, I think I have purchased all of the commercial coins you have made (since I have been collecting). Your coin designs are MAGNIFICENT!
  2. I got copper, but I would certainly like a silver one if anyone would like to trade!
  3. What? There was a silver Medusa? I never even saw it! It wasn't even listed by the time I got to the presale page! Oh, and Shilo is so right! I remember the same thing happening and that was in the days when I could hardly use a computer, so I missed out on a lot of stuff!
  4. I haven’t been around in the forums much lately because I have been too busy, but when I saw this post, I had to check it out. Okay, if you want real naivety, I’m your person (I don't have that avatar for nothing, you know)! I have said this a million times-I guess I go around with those rose colored glasses on all the time! I don’t go into the Hearts Desires often, but I’ve been there to add something I want and I have been there to see what coins others would like. Just as plain and simple as that. I have picked out a few people, mainly newbies, to send them a coin or two, just to welcome them to the community and I have found them to be very grateful. However, I mainly give coins away with the caveat that they pay it forward and you know what- that’s what seems to happen. I have been tickled pink by some of the things people have written back to me about what they have done to “pay it forward” and some have even sent me coins when they started to aquire some. I also give coins away to people who have helped me in one way or another. It’s my way of showing them that they are valued and appreciated. When I am in a mission, I try to do a little more, simply because I can. . .it makes me feel good to know that someone appreciates my efforts. It is fun for me to do and it is fun for someone to receive. Most of the trades I have done have been because someone asked me and I have always obliged. I have never been disappointed by anyone with whom I have traded. As for mystery coins-they are my favorites. I am always intrigued by these mystery gift-givers. . .why are certain people picked, how do they get coins all over the world? I am also delighted that there are people out there that think about doing something like this! They deserve the utmost gratitude because they are not seeking anything in return. I guess I don’t have any coins that someone would want to continually harass me for because I have never experienced that situation. I guess my 2 cents would be the next time you are harassed, don’t bother to even answer the emails, just delete them; they will get the message eventually. Sorry if I have strayed off topic a bit or digressed in any way.

    HELP!

Hello everyone! I found my first webcam cache in Washington DC last Saturday. I actually got my son to get the picture and he emailed it to me. The problem is, I can't get the picture posted on the geocaching website and if I don't get the picture posted, I can't claim the cache. So, is there anyone out there that can help me with instructions as to how to do this? Please remember, I AM NOT technical, so you would really have to walk me through this. Thanks in advance.
  6. WHAAAAAT? Have I missed these? Do I continually live in a fog? I love these! The email I got said these would be in on Friday and ship out on Monday. Isn't it Thursday today? And yet, these are all sold out! Did I miss something?. . .Well, I guess I did! Quickly looking over the forums, I noticed an update-dang it, I just can't keep up with these things, lately! Did you happen to notice my avatar? Now, you know the reason!
  7. My last three emails to them, over the past few weeks have all been me asking for a refund. They did say in their last newsletter that if people wanted to cancel they could, but they've completely ignored all my refund requests. I did try to file a complaint through Paypal first, but as expected it was rejected because of it being too late (with it being outside their 45 day time limit). I know that I should have initiated the complaint with Paypal within their time frame, but I thought I would give AE Toys the benefit of the doubt, because nothing like this has ever happened to me when I've ordered geocoins before. More the fool me lol! Did you put the paypal on a credit card? If so, you may be able to go back to the credit card company and see if you can get a refund that way. Just a thought.
  8. WOW! These are awesome coins. I'm sorry I missed them at GCF08!
  9. Very cute coin! I like it. I'm glad you are having more luck with your coin than I am! (It isn't Hogwild's fault, though-they have been GREAT.)
  10. I wished I had seen this earlier. I sent out some coins the last time and I did receive an email from him about donating some coins. I emailed him asking if there were any specific types of coins he was looking for, but I got no reply. I even sent a second email and again, no reply. After that, I began to think maybe it was some kind of scam. . . I guess not. . .maybe next time.
  11. actually, you left out the top part of the letter which says: "Broadcast: All GeocoinDesign.com Customers Hello everyone! First - Please don't repost this newsletter to the Groundspeak Forums. C O N F I D E N T I A L Information" now you may feel you have the right to repost that info, but i think you should have respected the wishes of the sender and not posted it here. especially without ALL the information in the letter. you could have, perhaps, shared the pertinent information with the person, privately. just a thought. rsg Yeah, I caught that, too. Personally, I feel bad for Jim and I think he is doing the best he can for now. He has been honest and forthcoming about the situation to many of the customers that CinemaBoxers had. I really don't think he knew all that was going on. I agree with RedShoesGirl, if he asked his letter to be confidential, it should be confidential. If someone would like information and didn't receive it, perhaps it would be better to forward Jim's email to them and let them explain their situation to Jim.
  12. Does anyone have any ketchup bottles to trade for a trolley?
  13. Congrats to all who were lucky enough to receive one of the Bandit coins. It's a beautiful coin-"Fur shure"! Thank goodness for generous bandits!
  14. Hey Yoli-I'm idiot #2! Someone asked if I had a ketchup bottle in my goodie bag and I said, "no, I didn't get any ketchup bottles!" (I had no idea that the 3 little trolley cars I got were for trading.) Silly me! It wasn't until I started working at the Trigo table that another person came up and asked for a ketchup bottle. I said, "You are the second person that has asked for a ketchup bottle. I got ripped off, I didnt' get any ketchup bottles." He said everyone got trolleys, bottles, or towels, and you were supposed to trade them. Oh well, too late. . .or is it? Hey, anyone got a bottle or towel they want to trade for a trolley?
  15. Many kudos to the Dressel Dragons, PGHLooking, and TMOCM, for the tremendous commitment it took to put this event together! It was very well organized with many wonderful events and fun activities for geocachers of all ages. Your hard work was a shining example of the stellar event that we attendees enjoyed! Thank you TMOCM for the wonderful time geocaching at Mingo Park! This was probably the "funnest and fastest" caching I have done! Thank you Anthus for all of the time and effort in putting together the Keystone Minis. They turned out beautifully and I had so much fun trading them. It actually got me out there trading! Thanks to all of the vendors, because without "yinz" we wouldn't have had this mega event in the first place! And finally, thanks to all of you with whom I had the pleasure to meet, greet, and trade! And just for the record-this was my first Mega event and I had to go all by myself. I could have been overwhelmed by all of the things going on and all of the people and all of the coins. . .well, actually, I was overwhelmed when I first got there, but honestly, every single person I spoke with was very friendly and helpful. They shared their knowledge and encouraged me not to be "scared" to trade. So, the moral of this story is: if you don't want to come to a mega event because you have no one with whom to travel-don't be afraid. My experience tells me, if there are geocachers (especially of the coin addicted variety ) around, you will have a friend ready and willing to help you and guide you!
  16. Wow! tadpole379, those coin pictures are beautiful! Could you send me some info on where that feature is located?
  17. Man, there are a lot of AWESOME pictures in here! What's the secret to a great coin picture?
  18. Sparticus06, do you have a picture or link? I may have one.
  19. YIPPEE-I -O-KIYAY! I just received #043 today and it is my anniversary! What a great gift, indeed! I haven't been in the forums lately, too many things happening and so hard to keep up with all of them-BUT-when I received this black bubbler and saw the Geo_Bandit on it, I thought, "Is this a mystery coin?" I couldn't wait to get to the forums tonight to find out what was going on. Lo and Behold, I found it and saw all of the wonderful pictures and comments that had been posted already. I didn't see any pictures of the stamp that was on my bubbler, so I thought I would include it for your viewing pleasure. Isn't it awesome? There was no postmark on my bubbler, so it is a perfect stamp. When I opened the envelope and saw the coin, I was amazed by the 3D effect of the glasses and bandana. The colors are wonderfully vibrant, too. It is truly an amazing coin. I even got my magnifer out to take a closer look at that bandana. I began to wonder if the designs in the bandana might hold the answer to the mystery. There are little ghost-like images that look like the virtual cache symbol, there are geocaching "G" symbols, big and little horseshoes, and one symbol near the right side of the eyeglasses that I'm not sure what it is. I also wondered about the rope. On the front, it goes around the coin, but on the back, there's a little loop connected to it. Am I reading too much into this coin OR am I on to something. THANK YOU SO MUCH Geo_Bandit for "Ropin' me in and Bringin' a HUGE smile to my face." Your attention to detail is very much appreciated and noticed, as is your generosity and kindness. I feel very blessed and privileged to have been chosen by you to receive this beautiful coin. HEARTY CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OF YOU WHO HAVE RECEIVED THIS COIN.
  20. I wanted to include the picture of the envelope that my Angel Geocoin was in. Take a look at the mysterious address. I just got such a kick out of it. . .oh, so clever! Did you notice there is no post mark, either? Oooh, mysterious!
  21. Thanks luckycharmers, Geo.Error, Geo-Gophers, and of course, Mousekakat for your well wishes!
  22. I'm so glad you got it, I was hoping and praying the angel would remember you and it looks like prayers were answered! You are much deserving! Naomi Wow! Thank you Naomi, that was very nice of you to say that! Debra
  23. ME, TOO! You guys are such great photographers!
  24. I have always wondered how someone receives a mystery coin and how the mysterious coin giver choses to whom they give their coins. I am also amazed that these coins seem to arrive to many just in time to lift their spirits after particularly trying times; which goes to show there are no accidents, but perhaps divine intervention guiding someone's hands. Well, today I was blessed to join those of you who have received one of these beautiful Angel coins. I was truly surprised and very grateful to receive it in the mail-with no postmark and a most unusual address. It is a beautiful coin in both design and in spirit. The message on the card is very inspiring and to me. It makes me want to give more, do better, and try harder. THANK YOU Geocaching Angel for this most wonderful gift. It will be forever treasured.
