  1. I've sent them an email which they haven't replied to - I'll give them a call later today, but wondered if anyone else had managed to do it.
  2. To cut a long story short, I've registered my topo maps on two units, one of which is now defunct and the other I'm about to sell. Does anyone know a way to deauthorise a unit so that it can unlock another device??
  3. Shall I take that as a no then? Did anyone else take a good look at the Colorado that was there?
  4. I've just come back from the Outdoor show and had a good look at the Garmin Colorado. Preloaded on the unit were topographical maps, far more advanced than my garmin topo maps which are I think version 2. They looked much more like OS maps, and were much easier to decypher. Anyone heard anything???
  5. Hi I'm having the problem where the website doesn't seem to recognise my password. I have registered before and have used the site a lot, although it no longer seems to accept my password... any ideas?
  6. I got a free ticket - like last year. They seem to hand them out like sweeties here in Birmingham, I'm going to look at the Colorado - It can't be that bad, can it??
  7. Just to go alongside the discussion of Garmin customer service (which I thought was exceptional when the replaced a dodgy unit with a brand spanking one within a day or two) I thought that I would ask about experiences others have had with Tom Tom customer service. I sent my unit to them on the 16th of January to be fixed, still within warranty, and am still waiting for it to come back. Their repair centre is in Scotland, and their call centre is in Holland, so they do everything by email and haven't managed to track it down or find out what has happened to it. I call them daily as I need it for work, and each time I get a heart felt apology and a promise that someone will find out and call me back in 24 hours.... they haven't ever actually called me back. I'm a little sick of it to be truthful. Anyone else had problems with them?
  8. I have cached with a folding bike (which got two flat tyres at the far end of a 10 mile ride, which meant an unhappy 10 mile walk back)... so rubbish. Now we cache in either or this The latter is my favourite. I have recently been known to use out of desperation, I promise.
  9. Go to your "My Details" page and then click on "view my stat bar" on the right hand side. There is then a box to change the text under the stat bar.
  10. DING! to plasma. You always knew that map would come in useful one day Well I was hoping to visit New question: When does the American holiday of Thanksgiving fall? Isn't it the penultimateThursday of November? It has been for the last two years, but that may be a coincidence...
  11. 1. The name of the film - You Only Live Twice - keehotee 2. The name of the ship that James was commited to the deep from? 3. The designation of M's submarine in the same film? 4. And this is the only Bond film in which Bond didn't do what? Is this the only film in which he doesn't drive a car? No Astons in that one... I've got a craving now - I can feel a Casino Royale coming on...
  12. Can I point out that the C in C. Montgomery Burns stands for Charles, and so actually his first name is Charles....... (Preparing for hate mail)
  13. Bounced back to the top Ahh yes, sorry for the delay boys and girls. This coming weekend I am travelling up to Fort William for a week with my camera, and will be travelling on the Caledonian Sleeper train from London Euston. For your ding, firstly tell me what is the nick name for this portion of the Caledonian Sleeper, and secondly if I was to then travel from Fort William to Mallaig on the steam train, what is the nick name of the train I would be travelling on? I'm not a train spotter by the way, it's just a nicer way to travel!
  14. I first thought that it might have been the Mir space station, but realised that it was longer ago than last year. So then I remembered something I read yesterday about a palm tree in Madagascar that grows a flower in the shape of a Christmas Tree and then dies... so it could be said to self destruct?
  15. Also, if you are getting the 60csx - it's well worth investing in the mapsouce topo software for the UK - I find that it is completely invaluable, and when i forget to load the maps on to the unit I am completely helpless!!
  16. I got my first gps from http://www.gpsonlineshop.co.uk/erol.html#1X850 They were very good, and even managed to send me a duplicate receipt months later when it went wrong and I needed to get garmin to fix it. It was a very good company to deal with - and I didn't do it through ebay.
  17. Zoomlens did one a bit like that... can't say which one that though as it might spoil it for others There are quite few of those no fun in the pouring rain and a lot of effort for a micro Firstly, it's not a micro cache - it's a multi with two regular containers... I've done several like mine, and they all have different twists to them - I think (I would though, wouldn't I) that they are a good thing, provided you don't stick a micro in an ivy covered tree (I've done plenty of those and hated them all!) I have also hidden a micro cache in the woods, but again it was slightly different and there were very good reasons for it. I've had no complaints either.
  18. I think it refers to blood A+, A-, AB+ etc etc... don't know when it was introduced though.... 1910 as a guess?
  19. Right. Today (8th of Jan) is the anniversary of the death of Galileo Galilei who amongst other things discovered the 4 largest moons of Jupiter (three of them he found on the 7th of Jan) - for your ding, what are they called?
