  1. I tried the "Log a Geocache" function and I could reply this bug.
  2. Hi @Zemmler-laget I have tried that with one of my TB's and I can reproduce what you are saying. I believe it is something to do with Google Earth and KML files. I set Google Earth's units to meters but it still shows the distance traveled in miles.
  3. Welcome, Shawn! Looks like you've also caught the virus! Enjoy your geocaching and if you have any doubt, don't hesitate to post it on the forums!
  4. Olá @geocTDLT Bem vindos e boas cachadas! Qualquer dúvida, estamos aqui no fórum!
  5. Hi @MurranCarrigan, There are several apps on the App Store that you could possibly download to get the exact GPS coordinates of where you are. However, the Geocaching Official App let's you do so, I believe. I see your dad uses an iPhone. I use an Android device but I guess the procedure isn't that different. Try the following: select any geocache in your area, it doesn't matter which one. After that, hit the "Start navigation" icon. You'll then find the compass icon in your screen. If you hit it, you'll see the compass pop up and in that screen you'll find "My location" which should show your coordinates. Let us know if it worked or if you need any other help.
  6. Premium membership applies to the account, not the device you're using. They are the same, the price differs like in any other membership: the longer you sign, the cheaper per month it gets.
  7. That's quite strange. Does your GPS work on any other app?
  8. My OnePlus One is my caching device, so it is always the fastest way to snap a picture In terms of actual gear: - Nikon D3200 - Nikon 18-105 lens - Sigma 70-300 lens f4-5.6 - Tripod
  13. Fancy announcement. We'll be waiting
  14. I don't know if anyone has noticed yet but there's a little bug with the new blog. When you try to share any blog post through, let's say, facebook, it will just open a new window with the same post.
  15. So you believe you can fool a geocacher? Ah ah, you're the one being fooled! On a more serious side, the pigeon must be waterproof and shouldn't be made out of those cheap plastic materials. The one that you linked to seems to be able to do the job.
  16. Hello there, If there's anyone interested in sending a TB to Lisbon, Portugal hit me up through the message center!

    Can you elaborate?
  18. Hi, I'd like you to know that you can feel and think whatever you want. There will always be people that agree and there will always be people that disagree - even if it regards geocaching. Now, here's what I think about this: It's absurd, either you agree with me or not. This is my opinon, which means that I would never do such thing, but people are free to do whatever they want, because geocaching is, after all, your adventure, meaning you can enjoy it however you feel like. I usually go out geocaching with my brother, but sometimes my cousins join us. They are also geocachers, so we all usually plan the trips and get the finds together, so there's no "cheating" here. This is the social aspect you refer to. Under no circumstances I would ask them to log a find for me, because that's not how I see the geocaching spirit. As it is usually said throughout the community "The treasure is not in the cache itself. The treasure is in the adventure of finding the cache."
  19. Hello, When clicking "View larger map" the only think you'll get is the full geocaching.com map centered in the geocache's coordinates. You can stil view waypoints on the geocaching.com map by clicking the waypoint and then selecting "Geocaching.com Map" which will do the same as I described before, opening the geocaching.com map but this time it will be centered on the waypoint's coordinates, however the waypoint itself won't be marked on the map. If you select any other map provider, then you'll have the waypoint marked, but only the one you selected. The only way I've found to see all waypoints at once is through the Geocaching Official App, by opening the cache details and clkicking "Additional Waypoints".
  20. Hello, It does some an awesome idea. However, bear in mind that it is really hard for a trackable to last a long time nowadays. You must be willing to take the risk of eventually losing it. Regarding the actual idea, it does look like something quite fun! I would understand that some people wouldn't feel secure taking pictures of themselves, but maybe pictures taken while geocaching! When you say "upload it to something", maybe you could specify that place. I'd recommend people to upload it to the trackable gallery.
  21. Hi, To create notifications you need to click your name on the top right, then scroll down untill you see "Premium Features" on the bar on the right. There you'll find Set Up Notifications. Since you are looking to get notifications of new caches being placed, you'll need to first select the type of cache you want and then tick the box that says "Publish Listing". You can get more information and detailed step-to-step tutorial on how to create these notifications on Groundspeak's Help Center: 1.5. Instant Notifications https://support.Groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=184
  22. Accidently hit "send". I've edited the reply.
  23. Greetings, First of all, whatever you do on your phone should also work on your pc, so no, you don't have to use your pc, it is just easier. I've also tried to do with from within the app but have not succeeded. I assume you were using this page to lookup a username. When you search a username and hit "Go" it will reload a page and then you have to pick one of the users from the list that pops up and hit "Pick a User". If what I described is what you need then it might have something to do with either your browser or possible an anti-ad plugin. Do you run any plugin such as adblock? Also, visit your account's preferences and make sure "Block friend requests from other geocachers" isn't ticked. Let us know if none of this things work.
  24. You appear to be a premium member. You shouldn't need a third-party app to create a pocket query. To create a pocket query visit this link: https://www.geocaching.com/pocket/gcquery.aspx You can also follow the following links that contain useful help (all from Groundspeak Help Center): 2.1. An Introduction to Pocket Queries https://support.Groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=117 2.2. Creating Your First Pocket Query - Steps https://support.Groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=118 After successfuly creating and running the pocket query you should be able to access it on your geocaching app, on your smartphone.
  25. Messages in the Message Center can't be deleted. They can be hidden. Perhaps the OP inadvertently hid the messages? See the link that Touchstone posted. B. I actually meant to say "They should have not been deleted".
