  1. You're the closest so far but its not pi/2...
  2. I don't favor either enameling over the other. But I do like epoxy and would add it to my personal.
  3. Remember if you try you could have the closest answer and you'll get the coin. And also you can answer as many times as you wish (within reason).
  4. I would like to give away one of my new personals (top 40) and will be doing so to the person who can win this contest. The person who wins will need to solve the problem to my satisfaction. Also they will need to email/pm me ASAP because I will be leaving soon for a long trip. If no one answers the question correctly by 9:00 pm CST then I will pick the person with the closest answer. You may need to use the diagram provided to solve the problem. Good luck! You'll need it : The original Ferris wheel was much different from the ones of today. They had 36 cars which carried approx 40 people each and were 250 ft. in diameter. They made 1 revolution every 10 minutes. Assume in the diagram that at the point (125,0) there is a car. You need to show the equation of the line (on a graph) that the car makes. In other words a sinusoidal graph. Be sure to include “sine” in your equation. If you want “extra points” (nothing really) you can draw the graph of the line. It may help convince me you know what you’re talking about.
  5. The thickness of the coin really depends on what you are going to have on it. If you want 3D use a thicker coin if only 2D then a thinner coin will suffice. Some people like to make them thicker "because heavier coins feel nicer". Its all based on preference but if you are doing 3D get a thicker one.
  6. Yeah! I got a package and it was all the way from Australia!!! How cool is that. It contained a Feb 07 geocoinclub coin, and a Sydney Geocoin in the nickel finish. Thanks Australian Leprechaun!
  7. I agree with 9key. Someone paid a lot of money for those coins to be made, and if only 100 come out of the 300 people expected to, the person hosting the event or coin making should justt be expected to eat the cost to protect the collectability of the coin? NO! They should be sold. Maybe even sold for a profit to help host the next event and coin to go with it. I for one wouldn't want to eat the cost of 200 coins. Would you?
  8. Wow its been so long ago that I don't remember what coin I sent along with it. POS should be able to tell you that. Sorry.
  9. Thanks AG, I got the code. Moderator you can close this thread please.
  10. I recieved via a trade a 2006 Two Happy Hikers Geocoin and it is trackable but it didn't come with info on how to activate it. Does anyone know where to retrieve the code? Help!!!
  11. you should do one with fire stripes on it. But otherwise blue would go over really well. Or you could maybe do a more fire red. Orange is cool too.
  12. Well I don't think (I got lotsa trade packages) I have gotten anything yet but I am still hoping...(fingers crossed) I hope my person enjoyed what they got.
  13. The only negative to this stuff is that, as far as I can tell, You have to heat it to 1200 degrees. I know that my oven will only go up to 1190 so it wouldn't work for me . Plus it seems you can only order it in very small amounts. otherwise it seems cool.
  14. I do not think that once you give a coin away or trade it that you should have any control over it anymore. This is just my opinion but it is like giving someone a sweater but telling them they can never wear it. Thats rediculous! I think once you give something to someone it is there's and they can do with it what they please.
  15. You can't I think everyone else can... Just Kidding!!!
  16. I personally think that scanning is the best way. And I get around the "shiny coins don't take well with scanner" barrier by using an editing program called photo impact (off brand photoshop) to edit the pictures it will automatically adjust the pic so that even the shiny coins look great. Also with using a scanner you eliminate shadows and blurryness from you moving when you took the picture etc. My next option is natural lighting outside using a white piece of paper. After that I would try putting it on top of the stove (off of course) and turning on the light above it this seems to work fairly well but I would try the other methods first.
  17. Sounds cool but rather difficult to make into a coin. However I'm sure it can be done...where there's a will there's a way.
  18. Congrats! Just know that you will get addicted, there is no going back....
  19. The other cool thing to do is, when you grab the trackable item back, you have to enter something into the log. I just type "123" and when done you will see your log. But wait, don't stop here. Now immediately "delete" your log. The coin will be in your inventory, but the logs will only show jumping from one cache to next, etc. Checkout this TB Reptar.... Holy Buckets Over 56,000 miles on that tb!!!!! How many miles has it ridden in your car??? Wow!
  20. Im glad they are arriving! I do have a few left for trading and want to trade for coins NOT from the top 40. I also will be selling a few on ebay to give the people who only buy on ebay a chance to get my coin. Thanks for all those who bought or traded with me it has been fun and I look forward to trading and dealing again with my next coin that should be coming out in early spring. SO be watching...
  21. OK I do have some of my coins left for trading, however I do wish to trade for coins other than top 40. I do not want a complete set. I only want a few and already have/am getting those I desire. So if those of you who do want a full set or want mine cause of the cool fish on it you can email me via my profile and we can work something out. I am trying to build my collection a little more and having 40 coins that look very similar isn't very appealing to me. But at the same time I understand why some want a whole set too. It's all a matter of preference.
  22. Must...resist...ordering...more...coins...than...I...can...afford........AHHHHH I am being sucked in. (slurp) Well there goes any money that may have been in my paypal account. Oh well it's probably worth it.
  23. I looked it up on ebay and it looks like a cool coin. But I will refrain from bidding as many of the more rare coins on ebay, as yours seems to be, go for enough money to mint 10-12 coins.
