  1. Hello Ponyhof, There are some WherIGos near Cologne that run on the Colorado: http://www.geocaching.com/bookmarks/view.a...9e-d552f62d14a3 Enjoy! ;-)
  2. My Colorado 300 works splendid in Germany. You will want additional maps for each region you travel to, because the basemap is mostly harmuseless. For Europe there's a CityNavigator which is OK for street navigation. For Hiking, Caching, etc. offroad there's a Topo Germany which is pretty good. Depending on where exactly you go, OSM could be a good alternative to these Garmin products. In the Cologne area, I found the OSM-maps to be more up to date than Garmin's Topo. In rural areas they are less usefull yet. The OSMs can be found here: http://emexes.powweb.com/osm/download.html
  3. Whereas any other selected target gets you straight into route mode, "Geocache" as target gets into Geocache mode, from there you need to select "Options" then "go to Geocache" to get into routing mode. You still need to have the mentioned routable maps installed.
  4. What is Windows? ;-) I'm using Linux only since I finally deleted my OS/2 a couple of years ago. First it was SuSE, but since Gutsy Gibbon it is Ubuntu. As long as I was caching with Etrex and Palm V, all I needed was gpsbabel and cachemate. Since I've got one of that great Colorados I directly put my pocket query gpx files on the USB-drive "Colorado" and don't need any other software. (Well occasionally I gpsbabel a track to Google Earth). PS. I have to comit I did use Wine to get my maps from Mapsource into the Colorado
  5. Why not ask a simple question that is difficult to answer when not on place?
  6. Bonjour, Goedendag, I've just downloaded and tried your cartridges on my Colorado (FW 2.54b). While Bosscout's seems to work fine (I was able to go to many zones, answered some questions I did not understand), Geotrouvetou crashes right at the beginning. So maybe there are different problems, one fixed with 2.54b, the other not? :-(
  7. I've installed the new firmware 2.54b and tried my cartridge again on the Colorado. When switching GPS to demo-mode, the left button now says "Los!" (in German) if a zone, item or charakter is selected. Pressing that button moves you magically to the object. :-))))
  8. Good morning shuttle64, This works fine for the starting zone, but how do you "go" to your other zones? When I finish (with saving) Wherigo and set the location into the next zone on the satellite page, it goes back to start after starting Wherigo again. :-( Pitty, it would be really helpful, as I noticed some differences between emulator and Colorado on my first fieldtest yesterday. The Event "When the player clicks on this character" worked fine in emulator, but not on Colorado. So I had to go home and define a command for that character.
  9. Hello Ranger Fox, thank you very much! Works great. :-)
  10. Good morning, with the help of smthng's great tutorial, J2B2's open source cartridges, Rangerfoxes and yours hints and tips in this forum and a lot of trial-and-error I have a first cartridge almost doing something close to what I want it to do. Now I have one task, where I need the player input that I saved into a string variable to show up as option in a multiple choice input. I tried to add the variable name with and without dots in the source code. As this works fine for displaying the input in a message, it doesn't work for the mc-buttons. With dots gives me a runtime error, without gives an empty button. Any further suggestions? Thank you very much for your help

quote:Originally posted by Cornix: http://babelfish.altavista.com/ It's better than no translation at all Cornix This may be true for simple caches, but for a tricky multicache a babelfish translation can do more harm than good. Sometimes the riddle for the next coordinates depends on linguistic niceties, so that a babelfish translation will make them impossible to solve. Better ask in the corresponding forum to find somebody to translate. Rabe
