I am currently working with a small group of land owners in my town to get permission " its looking good" I simply wrote them a letter and I am waiting for them to vote on it. They did ask if i could go to the board meeting to do a small presentation on g/c but I am working when they meet. I say if it is a land conservation area get the permission and asure them if they feel like it isn't working out, they can call you to archive the cache.....Make them aware of the trash in cache out and make sure they are aware we aren't a bunch of kids looking for a place to party and trash the place... OK OK OK 4 days untill take off....Going down to florida and we are driving straight through to panama city....good 'ol 95!!!! What rest area caches in virginia, s. carloina. or n.carolina can we hit up.......???????? Then on the way home we plan to hit myrtle beach area for a day or two and maybe knoxville for a rusted root show......... So all in all we need good quick easy caches in panama city fl...myrtle beach s. carolina, and knoxvill tenn...........and i want to try to hit a rest area cache on the way down....how i'm pulling that off i don't know, the girl might find it odd if we happen to stop for a pee-break at a cache rest area!!!!!! Condom's in caches, what next? Condoms in caches with a card that says" SWGeocacher, looking for ------- etc etc. Common seriously, I can see the point of the parents out caching, but even for the non-parent cachers, how many us would actually take a condom from a cache and use it? That should be a poll " Would you use a condom from a cache" ---not I ! I would trash one out! I think condoms in caches = bad trade items! Beside that here in New England, by the time a cacher that would actually use the condom found , it most likley would have sat there for 3-4 months in the bitter cold, then got soggy in the aprill showers, then cooked for 3-4 months in the summers heat...Now tell me you want that condom for your next date! Drangon Virt Cache Ok here is a virt cache I did, what it is/was, was to take pictures of dragons, of all types statues, real, etc etc becauese the cache owner loves dragons and wants to see peoples creative dragon items... so basically you take a pic with/gps and submit it. Its just a cache you can do any where in the world... There is another where the cache owner is into old drive in theaters and request pics of any and all still operational drive-ins... there is no log book or phy. cache basically your pic you uploadwith gps and you online log is the find....some of tyhem are really creative, others are spelt out for you.... Why not we do it, Cacher *Sunbug* goes out with me and she logs her own finds and moves her own TB's..I go out more then her also.... What we do though is if one of us finds it we keep looking move away from the cache and yell found it. then when the other finds it we log our visit... Hey Southern Cachers, Aug 10-16 Sunbug and I will be driving to P/C Florida, fun fun ROAD TRIPIN and where looking to hit up some caches down there. Any seggestions on P/C caches? good rather quick ones? time is limited. Also we are heading down 95 to 201 i think any good ones on the way down? hehehehe The last cache I hid, part of it was in a poison ivy patch, from what people were posting it was a strategic foot placing to get the cache. Finally I broke down and went and moved it. Not sure if this was caching related or not, but -- In my local area some people stole a yard orniment from there neighbors and took it all throughout Europe taking pics of it and mailing them to the owner.....This was a few years ago, it was on the news, the owners of the l/o thought it was halarious and they did get it back when there neighbors came back... This saturday June 7th is Nat. trail clean up day. I do know that REI stores have a bunch of clean ups planned, this might be a good opertunity for us geocachers to join with another group for some trashing out!
