  1. HELP! I suddenly seem to be having problems running PQs. When I create a new PQ and attempt to preview it, nothing shows up. When I attempt to actually run the PQ, even though I can't preview, it never runs. It just sits in the queue, but never actually executes. Attempting to use a work-around that I found in the forums, I copy an existing PQ that has run successfully in the past. I edit the copy of the PQ, but when I try to preview it the results are the same as the original PQ. When I click 'edit' to review the PQ, I see that some of the selections are not staying at the new value, but rather reverting to what they were in the original PQ. What gives? Am I doing something wrong, or is their still an issue with the PQs? Can someone offer a work-around to the work-around? Thanks!
  2. Is anyone at Groundspeak looking into this? I work in IT and and I know that Friday is NOT the day to expect anything to get done. I'm getting ready to walk out the door for a weekend of caching and camping in Bardstown, KY, only now it won't be so much caching as I can't get the PQ to run. Even tried the copy thing with no luck. I won't have WiFi where I'm going. Groundspeak? Anyone?
  3. I also agree. What I'd like to see is a iPhone app from GS developed specifically for Geocaching. One that can pull live data from the servers, utilize the G3 unit's built-in GPS and Map application. Heck, I would even pay for the app.
  4. Thanks for adding the Google Calendar and Cooliris support. A small adjustment (addition) is needed for the Google calendar, though. Please see my post in the Google Calendar topic.
  5. The icon has started appearing correctly. That's great! Now, can I bug GS one more time... Can the event coords be passed to the location field in the Google calendar? Right now the event name, date and description (URL of the event page) are being passed. I have found that if the coordinates are in the location field, Google calendar will allow you to open a map with a pin on the exact location. Hopefully this is something you guys (and gals) can do. Thanks again!
  6. There were 200 total tags taken, not all of the same design, but ten different designs. The stolen designs can be seen here. Thank you to everyone for your concern, and for keeping an eye out. KK
  7. I had eight different bags of pathtags. Some of the bags were almost empty as I had made many trades, but some of the bags were still quite full. I would say that I lost about 200 tags total. The tags I had received in trade were safe as well as my coins as I had taken them back to my tent prior to attending Area 51.
  8. Hooray! You guys ROCK! Thanks so much for adding this to the GC.com website. I can't wait to start using it. (I knew my pestering, er, persistence would pay off. )
  9. I attended the Midwest GeoBash this past weekend. While I was there I traded and purchased GeoCoins and Pathtags with many other event attendees. On the final night I took my backpack full of my pathtags to Area 51 for some last minute trading. I set my pack down while talking to some friends and making new one. The backpack disappeared and was not found until Sunday morning under the bleachers with only my GPSr inside. Why they didn't take the GPSr too, I don't know. If you trade or have traded for any of my tags with anyone but me be aware that they may be stolen. I will be keeping an eye on eBay and Craigslist too. If you have them I ask that you contact me (you can do so from an anonymous email address if you like) so I can get them back. My email address is KRnlKilR@gmail.com. I will provide my shipping address if you need it. I'm not angry or hostile, just disappointed that our great hobby has been marred. Thank you.
  10. Will anyone from GS even acknowledge that they have seen this thread?
  11. Although this is ever so slightly off the side of the topic, when I solve a mystery cache, I always add the cache to a private bookmark list with the "corrected coordinates" in the comments field. This way I can come back to it days, weeks or months later (assuming it hasn't been archived by then) and go for the actual find.
  12. Looking back at the 2008 GW VI event page, I clicked on the gallery link to view the photos from the event. 10+ pages of thumbnails of photos from the event are displayed. I have to click on each photo to view it and, depending on if several photos are uploaded by the same cacher, I may be able to click the left and right arrows above the photo to see the next frame from that same cacher. If a cacher only posted one photo then I have to go back to the gallery to view the next photo from a different cacher. What I would like to see is a slide show link in the gallery that will display all of the photos from an event regardless of who uploaded them. Then I could see all of the photos from the event without all of the back and forth clicking that I currently have to do. The slide show could be something similar to what you see when you click on a photo link in someone's log, or it could be something more robust with auto frame changes, speed control, forward and backward buttons, etc. Just something that will display all of the photos! Thank you, P.S. I reserve the right to bump this thread every few weeks if I feel that no one from GS has read my request. (See my thread on Add to Google Calendar).

    i still want it

All I want is my two front teeth.
  14. You added a rule that you log your experience at www.geocaching.com. Does that mean that I should cross out the names of people who signed the log book and didn't log online? Actually, it should say: 1. If you take something from the cache, leave something of equal or greater value. - Great Rule here. 2. Sign the logbook in the cache. - Not all logbooks have enough room for someone to write about their find (think micro or nano). 3. Write about your adventure on the cache page at www.geocaching.com. - This is where someone should write about their adventure (or experience) for others to read. I will usually read others stories when I'm sitting at my computer, but not when I am out in the field. "We're on a mission..."
  15. Of course you would like the trackable Sherpa which held your tag. I like the fact that the center of the Sherpa can be changed out, thereby changing the look of the Sherpa, or allowing the mission of the coin to change. Now that IS cool.
  16. I want a Blarney coin, with the associated PT, but I am not a member of the GCC. I am also not an avid coin collector so I have nothing to trade. Is there a way I can purchase one?
  17. Gee, I waited three (3) month and let the post get buried all the way to page six (6) in the forum before I bumped it. Once a post gets past page two it pretty much ceases to get any traffic at all. I think this is a great feature request. One that would be beneficial to more people than just me. While I know and understand that GS has a "Remember this Date" on the event pages, it only works with Outlook type programs. In order to add to Google Calendar, you have to manually add it. I waited three (3) months before I bumped it. I hope that's really not a problem. I wouldn't bump a thread every three hours unless I had something pertinent to add to it.
  18. Gee, I mentioned this months ago here. It seems a lot of my suggestions go unnoticed until someone else suggest them I realize the adding modularity to the site is some heavy duty dev work, I'm sure, if it had been started on when I suggested it back in February, there would be quite a bit of work already completed on it. It would definately make the site more user friendly and useful. Edit: Spelling correction
  19. *BUMP* Still wondering if GS would be interested in implementing this. I spoke to Jeremy at GW VI about it, though I know he isn't the person to speak to about these things, I just wanted to get my idea out in front of him. He didn't seem to not like the idea. Anyone from GS even reading this thread?
  20. Is that near "Walls of Jericho" GCVG0G?
  21. KRnlKilR and Moonshimmer will be in P2.
  22. Will anyone be attending the Lazy Hayes Days II event? Anyone interested in some stow-aways? Moonshimmer and I were thinking if we could find anyone south of Indy who would be attending, We could drive my car to their house and then ride along with them to the event. 275 miles is a long way for me to drive, especially with gas prices reaching $4.00 per gallon. I would be happy to chip in for fuel cost. Unless I can make arrangement far enough in advance, I would not be available to leave until after work on Friday, which could put me in Indy around 6:30-7:00 PM. Also, with Moonshimmer's health, her attendance is not guaranteed. Feel free to post reply here, or send me a message through my GC profile.
  23. Moonshimmer and I will be attending Geowoodstock and will be leaving on Tuesday after the picnic. It's just too much too close together for us to do everything so we will have to sit this one out. Hope the skies are clear and you all have a great time!
  24. Bring your telescope anyway, just in case. You can always leave it in the car if it's cloudy. My tent isn't waterproof either (anymore). You take one end, and we'll take the other. Weather.com is now predicting that Saturday night will be clear and 58.
  25. There goes the neighborhood Right next door to you!! So I would sleep lightly because if you don't you know what could happen!! I'll stick with the barn. It safe and quiet when I finally want to go to sleep... If you call the train horns all night as quiet.
