Complaining to the NT in this area won't help the negotiations and is completely unnecessary since we are making positive progress. Dave (The Wombles)

Thanks to the Jersey Environmental Dept, Jersey National Trust and New Water Works company for granting permission to place geocaches on their land. Seeking Permission for new Caches
GAGB committee replied to pklong's topic in United Kingdom and Ireland
Your first port of call should be www.gagb.org.uk (Geocaching Association of Great Britain. They have a database of standing agreements, and pro-forma letters for sending out. Also specific help on getting an agreement can be got in their forums. Your second port of call should be to ask on here. Oh. You're here already. Well, seeing as you ask, your first port of call should be ... gagb were really helpful to me when I placed my (one and only) cache. And the landowner gave permission no problems. I used their standard letter (tailored). One thing it emphasises is that there is no digging involved, which is a common misapprehension. Oh, and it so happened that the owners of the land where I placed my cache had a website with a "contact us" page. This made things a LOT easier. Good advice, a link to our Landowner database with ready-to-use permissions is below. Dave (Caching as The Wombles) -

Regional Forums With the UK
GAGB committee replied to Birdman-of-liskatraz's topic in United Kingdom and Ireland
GAGB is pleased to announce that in response to suggestions made in the GC.com forum, we plan to host regional forums on the GAGB website. Initially these regions will be: South West England West England Southern England London Eastern England Central England North-West England North-East England South Wales North Wales Southern Scotland Western Scotland and Isles East Scotland Northern Scotland Northern Ireland Channel Islands Clearly some regional forums are already established and cachers will continue to use those; however we will provide complete coverage even if some GAGB regions are little used. I'm sorry about that - I don't know what went wrong there. I've now made you a full member manually. --- Bill caching as Bill D (wwh) Chairman GAGB -
Many thanks to barryhunter who has now managed to identify the likely source and access mechanism of the recent problems on the GAGB website. These have been dealt with so it should be safe to visit again. Dave GAGB committee Caching as The Wombles

Please note that the Woodland Trust application form has been revised and is now available on the GAGB website from here. Dave (Caching as The Wombes) -
You might like to check that you've got the latest permission form. I've just revised it at the request of the WT and the new version was uploaded onto GAGB on Sunday last. The new version requires 10 digit OS co-ordinates instead of 6 digit ones, details here on the GAGB agreements database. Dave (Caching as The Wombles)

Perhaps we can get a "where I'm going" forum opened on GAGB for posting this info. It might also be useful for allowing people to team up if they are planning on hitting the same area at the same time. In order to allow the GAGB committee to consider this, I've started a new thread on GAGB for people to post if they would use such a facility. You can post you views in this thread on GAGB.
