  1. It wouldn't let me edit, so I corrected the email address. It's kd7ctv@gmail.com
  2. Hello all. I have 3 caches, that I need to adopt out. All are great caches, and I'm sorry to see them leave my ownership. However I have relocated to Arkansas, compliments of the Air Force. So alas I need some steadfast cachers who would like these awesome caches to take the reigns since I don't see returning anytime soon. The first cache is CG15GG1, it's called Oregon Trail Adventure. It's located at the Dead Mans Pass Rest area on I-84EB, outside of Pendleton Or. The second is GC111RD, it's called MC2. This one is located in the scenic outlook on top of Cabage Hill on I-84WB, outside Pendleton Or. I believe the log in the cache could be changed now.. And the third and final one is GCXFVM, it's called Garnet Resource Overlook. This one is located at the top of the hill at the Garnet Scenic Overlook going to Garnet Ghost Town. Coming From Missoula Montana on Hwy 200. All have been good and active. So if anyone wants to adopt them, let me know. Either let me know here, or email me at k7ctv@gmail.com.
  3. While I can understand your mixed emotions, but there was also a chance that the people in the SUV called it in. And who knows what they said if they did. And at least the officer was polite about it.

  5. Mines the same as my nick here. KD7CTV, in Yakima
  6. I have the updated version on my HD2, and it works great. You have to disable Static maps, but once that's done it should work fine. I use mine for paperless caching, and to find the ones I am closest to then, go to the Garmin for that.
  7. I never worry. I mean if I don't find it today, I will find it next time. Sometimes I just get tired, and things that might stand out just aren't. Doesn't mean its not there, just means I'm aren't picking it out. Just go look again another time, different light or time of day. There are times when my girlfriend finds things that I normally would, then there are plenty of times where she looks right at it, and I am the one who finds it. Keep at it its a fun time.
  8. My HD2 works pretty good sometimes. Then again it goes stupid on me sometimes to. I just use it to get me to the area then go to the real GPSr. Also having the GPS function on KILLS the battery fast. I've burned through a battery in less then 8 hours when I forgot to shut off the GPS.
  9. I have a bunch loaded into my Etrex Venture HC, and legend. But I also use a program on my HD2. If I don't have any for the area I am in, as long as I have signal on the phone, I can pull in those closest. I would use it for GC, but it seems to get within 36 feet and go stupid on me. So I just manually program the coords into one of the other GPSrs
  10. If its crashing when you try to download caches, try disabling the static maps. Its in the menu, options, static maps. just un-check all of them. That seemed to work for me and I found that after searching. Kind of annoying when you are in the field to have it crash all the time, but after doing that its working great now.
  11. Here are a few of mine, I have another one but its been hidden already. Got bored one day so painted these up.
  12. Jeep Dog. Didn't you know vinnys compass will be standard equipment in the new jeeps... Sounds like you got an old one. Need to update that...lol
  13. I like to leave the little keychain LED lights.
  14. I have a HighGear Alterra Watch, has a built in compass works pretty good, I also carry extra batteries if I am going to be far away from my vehicle. Or just carry one of my GPS units from my vehicle( I have 3 GPSr units)
  15. Had 2 stamps made for 17.00, then the wooden disks, were like 20 for 3.00. Going to start using those..
  16. I am going to start using the wooden nickels, I had two stamps made. One is of a compass rose for one side, The other says "You've been swagged KD7CTV" on it for the other side. Cost me 17.00 to have the stamps made for me. The look pretty good, and I am going to put a sealer on them. I'll get pics soon..
  17. Yep, I have a cache at a place I regularly stay. Note that I am a truck driver and its near a gravel lot I park in when I am in the area. If I see someone over there, I let them finish then go introduce myself and ask how they liked the hide.
  18. I have a 350 and I really like it. Its got the newest maps, and does everything I need it to do and I have never had any problems with it. I drive truck and thats what I use it for. If you have any questions about the 350 let me know I'll answer them as best as I can.
  19. I have a Garmin IqueM3 that was having issues, so while it went to be fixed or replaced by Garmin I bought a TomTom 510, I am a truck driver and a friend had a TomTom one so I played with his. I liked the 510 though it didn't find a few address to the Walmarts I deliver to. The only thing I didn't like is the routing abilities since you have only a few to chose from. I took it back after a few weeks and picked up the Garmin Nuvi 350. So far I really like this little unit, I have used it for Caching a few times and was successful with it(I was to lazy to get my Etrex out). The function I like the most is that I can tell it what city to look, then instead of going through the catagories I can just spell the name of the place. The unit then offers me anything with that name within about a 150 mile radious of the place I told it to look. So to me thata a huge bonus. Now I just tell it the city and walmart and I am on my way.. Plus you have more control over routing, since you can chose what type of vehicle you are routing for. Ohh and its very slim and fits in my pocket.
  20. Actually I have seen a few cars in my travels, but I don't honk.. Most people don't like big trucks honking at them.. But if you see a Swift truck 90600 with a refer or Walmart trailer in tow.. Thats me.
  21. I have had the ability to use both, I own a Expolorist 200, and my friend a Etrex Vista. In heavy cover hers was always more accurate then mine. I have since bought a Legend so I will be able to compare them anytime I want.
