  1. Howdy.... I'd seen a post somewhere in the forums previously about this, and it looked like a great idea, but after searching EXTENSIVELY, I can't seem to find it. My Scout troop has an annual Geocaching 'competition' where the patrols act as teams... a few scouts and a couple adults, to get a handful of caches in a day. We go to a pre-selected area, and in the past it was all about the total # found by the team. I had seen a thread somwhere that had worked out some 'scoring' where terrain and difficulty factored in..... so a team finding many 1/1 caches might not 'beat' a team putting in time.effort for more challenging caches. Another rule we will implement... also from the thread I read, but really a no-brainer... is that at least one member of the team must not have previously found any given cache for it to count. I'd really like some ideas/help on a scoring system, or just any thoughts to help me along the way. Thanks!!!

    Yahoo ads

Could swear that I was set up to "auto-renew"... but apparently not... how would I check that, anyway.... Oh well... off to renew. It would be nice if, when logging in, you got messages, not just via E-mail..... Kinda like how E-bay (or many other forums/sites) do it.

    Yahoo ads

I read in another topic (now locked) that ads have been removed as of the 16th. I am here on the forums for the first time in a long time, because today, I began to see the Yahoo ads. Why????? I can understand ads, in fact, I bought my GPSr from a link from Geocaching.com. I HATE the Yahoo ads being inserted between the cache listings. As stupid as it may sound, that is incredibly annoying to me. Whats the deal with the Yahoo ads??? Removed or not??? On another topic, I too was having Mega problems with the Google Maps.. glad to see the "old maps" are coming back!
  4. Were the caches removed??? They should be physically removed if archived. disabled is TEMPORARILY unavailable.... archived is NO LONGER available.....
  5. I agree.... I'm pretty sure that MOST of the cachers out there are interested in the safety and conservation of the areas they hunt / hide. I know I am. Possibly the only legitimate concern he could have would be if this was a park for residents only ??? I know we have many in my area that are town parks, for the use of town residents and their guests... that being said, nobody worries much about who hikes, or sits and reads a book, or even fishes in them... the only time it ever becomes an issue is for sports field use, or other similar amenities... I think they just try to make sure that residents wont be crowded off a volleyball court, or baseball field, or the like by non-residents.... But hiking or caching???? I cant see anybody, except this one mayor obviously, being too up-tight about it.
