  1. Thank you so much! This will make the trip so much easier to put together!
  2. Putting an earthcaching adventure together to take a couple of my friends who have never done much geocaching at all and want to see what the hype of a cool earthcache is all about. we can only travel so far each day so I was thinking...is there any good way to find the best/most Favorited earthcaches by state/county? We live in Alabama and were thinking about making a trip west to Mississippi. Thanks in advance for any insight!
  3. All great ideas and points. It would actually be next to impossible for any rodents or animals to get to the container the way it's going to be placed. But it is extremely humid here. the sidewalk salt containers could work but i'd need to order them as it rarely snows here (alabama). im going to check out some lock and locks. thank you all for your awesome advice and suggestions!
  4. So, I'm creating a new cache to hide (Number 4) and i really like the idea of it. It's location is off of a road called salty bottom, so i decided there would be no better cache container than a salt container. I've gone out and bought all the equipment to create/place/hide it...then i ran across a problem that i cannot believe i didn't foresee. (well actually i can since i'm new(er) at this). I'm contemplating ideas to make the container open and shut. I bought the big 26 oz container from mourton iodized salt...and as many of you know and have seen them, it has a metal spout to pour the salt...and that's it. it's a cardboard container (the way i'm placing it it will be safe from the rain) and it's onc full piece of cardboard..i've debated a few things such as hinges or seal locks but in reality, i'm not sure how it would hold up on a cardboard container. Any other bright ideas? I've also looked into salt shakers, but the biggest ones i have found have a diameter a bit too wide (nothing over 3.6'' will fit) or not as big as i want them to be. Thanks for input!
  5. So I recently upgraded to premium for an upcoming trip from Alabama to Chicago, hoping to take advantage of the feature. I can't really figure out how to use it , unfortunately. Any help? Pre emptive thanks
  6. Edit my Cache's name/title? I would like to make it a part of a series i'm putting out but when I placed it I didn't know I would be making a series in the area, thus it doesn't say it is. Thanks in advance for help
  7. Makes perfect sense! Especially since we were planning on dropping geocoins/trackables/ and ftf coins in them all...Would be more fun for more people to retrieve them than one person collect them all! Thanks for your input and this is now our course of action!
  8. Exactly what i needed. Thanks a ton, Isonzo Karst, for making the geocaching experience simpler and more exciting!
  9. So, we have planted a geocache (our first) in a nice secluded location; however, because it is so far out of the way only one person has come to find it! Even though they were happy with it and gave it a favorite point, nobody else has wanted to drive all that way for one single geocache. Our solution? Place a lot more out this way...i know i would be more willing to go out of my way for say 5 caches rather than one. So, I have at least 3 ready to place but also have ideas for a couple more. My question is: would it be better to publish all the caches for a series at one time and introduce 5 all together, or go ahead and place a couple now and keep adding to the series? Thanks for your input. Also, if there are any reviewers reading, let me know which you would rather see as well. Thanks everybody, happy caching
  10. Recently We have discovered we love earthcaches. Is there a way to filter out all others and see all earth caches in my area? Thanks for help!
