  1. I'm experiencing the same problems. I'm nearly 100% certain the problem is caused by the batteries losing connection with the terminals when the bottom of the unit is bumped. I can temporarily fix the problem by shoving some paper toweling behind the battery terminals but after about 2 weeks the paper becomes compressed and the same symptoms return. I emailed garmin but they did not believe it was caused by the batteries and asked for me to return it to them for service. I was hoping they could provide some sort of spacer to put behind the battery terminals.
  2. What color are topo lines now for you guys? With 3.20 I had nice green lines but with this update they've changed to hard to see thin blueish lines.
  3. Ha, I do the same thing with my Subaru Impreza cupholder!
  4. No help for you but I'm having the same problem here. Virtual PC 6 with Panther.
  5. Thanks for the mini-review. If I find out I sold my copy of Metroguide v5 and bought City Select for nothing, I'm NOT going to be a happy geocacher...
  6. I'm upgrading to a 60CS so I'm selling my current geocaching setup. Here's what it includes- Garmin 76S - It's about 6 months old and in great shape. Includes the box, instruction books, lanyard, and data cable. Specs Metroguide 5.0 - Installed once and put back in the jewel case. Includes the box and instruction book. Garmin Auto Mounting Bracket - I used zip ties to attach this to my dashboard cupholder, so this includes both adhedisve disks. Garmin Cigarette Lighter Power Cord - Only used a few times. Photo of gps Photo of whole package New, all this cost me about $500. I'm asking $325 plus shipping. Email cjh@monkeybutler.org if interested.
  7. Wow, this sounds great! Let me know if you need any beta testers, hehe
  8. Hey, why stop there? Why not just steal the gps from the store too? Then your total cost would be $0! Thanks txlegaldealer you've changed my life!
  9. Tigergps.com has it for $418. Best price I've seen so far.
  10. Will I be able to use my copy of Metroguide v5 for autorouting, or will I have to buy City Select to do that?
  11. Newer gps systems built into cars have dead reckoning systems. They can tell from sensors in the wheels how fast and what direction you are traveling in. They still need an inital gps lock to figure out where they started from though.
  12. quote:Battery only last about 4 hrs, but we are constantly changing menus and zooming in/out. That doesn't seem right to me. My 76S went 14 hours between charges on my last car trip! Did you have the compass off and battery saver mode on?
