  1. There are so many, and they are all lovely! My favorite will always be the first coin I received. My son gave me a Forest Frog. I think it is really called Rainforest Frog.

  4. sheesh. that website needs a bit of help. sorry to sound fussy, but i had some coins in my basket, went to check out, and they were dumped. i did get back and get some pre-order, but no LE or XLE. arghhhhh..... CColli and darnjoeSNARG, I'm feelin' your pain!!!
  5. Geocoin prices have gone up because smurfs are buying them and hiding out somewhere until the prices go sky high, and they can sell them for a big profit and buy even more!
  6. geocoin prices are up because they are they are beautiful.
  7. Those darn coins cost too much because I have gotten into geocaching and am addicted to them. Everything I like costs too much. It's true! Therefor: It's all my fault for getting into this. I'm soooooo sorry, but I can't stop buying them.
  8. hi, sorry, but i lost track of this one. still not used to forums, but i am getting addicted! will i be getting an e-mail or a bill on paypal? can't wait to see these in real life! thx for everyone's patience with my questions. it's rough being out of the loop!
  9. my apologies. i was waiting for an e-mail or note on forum. does newbie stand out here?! checked with paypal (my son's suggestion) and there it was! paid just now, so if you do not still have the coins i had ordered, please let me know and we can adjust. live and learn.
  10. just went and looked these coins. they are very beautiful. like the shape. thanks for the information.
  11. How about my husband's favorites: track and field (if need to be more specific here, put men's 100 meters) gymnastics
  12. You have given me a chance to honor a lady long since deceased, who never really got any credit that I know of for the multitudinous good deeds she did alone and out of the sheer kindness of her heart. My family and I were new in this little town then, far away from our family, and trying to start up our business. Bettye was her own welcome wagon, coming to our home to meet us, welcome us to the town, tell us several things we needed to know about where we had moved to, bringing us some beautiful flowers and a goody bag of little gifts. We figured that she worked for the city in some capacity - chamber of commerce or something like it. I found out later that she was not employed by anyone but was the wife of a local businessman (she never said anything about this, so she was not just trying to advertise for him), didn't get paid for any of the things that she did, but took it on herself to reach out to anyone who moved here and make them feel welcome and comfortable. It made us feel so wonderful that we've stayed here going on 32 years now. Luckily, I had the chance to visit her and help her out a little bit while she was in the hospital dying of liver cancer. What a horrible way for such a lovely lady to go, but she was a real trooper to the very end, never complaining and always trying to make those around her feel better and happier! I think about her a lot and all of her random acts of kindness done even before that term became popular. People like Bettye Carol Robinson make everyone around them better people. It is almost impossible not to pass kindness on to others as has been done to us. Happy birthday to you and thank you for a nice geocointest. I am enjoying reading all the stories. There are truly so many good, kind, selfless people in the world, and we need to remember that and keep hope.
  13. how about a handgun in a red circle! i still don't know how to get a picture onto here, but you get the idea. Cool goin, btw.
  14. Thank you Landsharkz for the description and explanation. I don't know what a semaphore a warning light of some sort?) is, but I see it on the coin and am going to the dictionary for exactness on that. Also, thank you Rockin Roddy because I, too, cannot convert money! Thaniks you StuartP for a great coin! Absolutely love the front of the coin best because I like trains and I like bridges! Cool combination, and the picture is great. Also, I am looking up more on the Severn Railway plight. These forums are more educational than people can imagine. I was afraid to get on at first because some of the comments can be rough, but overall the forum info and comments are wonderful. The occasional harsh words may just seem that way because no way to see the face of the person, so you interpret the words differently from what the writer might mean sometimes. Plus, several of you guys are on here a lot and seem to know each other really well. Family members get rougher with one another because they care and know they are all still loved no matter what!! Now I have two addictions - the geocoins and the forums!
  15. Wow! I am relatively new to all this and have just spent the better part of an hour reading the first 2 pages of these posts, skimming through the middle, and reading the last bunch. Sorry I can't read them all, but my eyeballs get weird on me when I read on the computer screen for too long! INMH, if you buy an unactivated coin, it is yours to activate or not. Right? If you buy or trade from someone and that someone has set out restrictions or stipulations, you should abide by them. If cachers would always uphold the agreements and stipulations that go with any trade or purchase, all would be well. If you don't agree, don't trade or buy. There is nothing wrong with a person creating a coin and putting on stipulations or wishes as to what they hope will be done with the coin. They should realize, though, that once the coin leaves their possession, it's open to all sorts of treatment that is difficult or impossible to control. I must read too much because I almost understood that abstract!!! It may be ignorance on my part because I have not been in geocaching very long, but I don't see anything wrong with e-bay. I get in trouble there, but some of my prettiest coins came from there and geocachers' stores. If I ever get where I can have my own coins made up, I doubt that I will put any restrictions on them. Less fun that way. I would love to do something like having my own coin, untrackable, just to place as surprises in caches for the finder to do with them as they please - likely to keep in a collection. Anyway, it is super neat to read all the varying opinions! I realize I have soooooooooo much to learn! However, I am loving all of it and getting on the forums even for a little time each evening is always enlightening! Thanks to all of you for trying to keep this geocaching good fun for all. marilyn p.s. One comment has me perplexed. I thought you should activate the coins that you will keep or cache. Then, do not activate the ones you plan to trade or sell. Someone somewhere above (sorry, I am too pooped to go back and find it) said that most people don't activate their collection coins. What is the proper method of handling here or does it matter? If I have said anything really stupid or way off, please forgive me. "Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most." Not sure who to credit for that, but it is one of my favorite quotes.
  16. off of the geocoin subject, but in my earlier reply, i meant to tell you that i am very sorry for your loss of cosmo whom i am sure was one of your beloved boxers. i have been raising this fabulous breed for about 25 years and will never have another type dog. right now, i have two apollo and sadie, my son has two jax and coca, and my daughter has one jessi. we are just a tad obsessed with boxers. in fact, right now, my daughter is looking for a flashy, brindle female pup. not looking to breed or to show anymore, just that none of can have just one!!! again, my heartfelt empathy goes out to you. marilyn
  17. love the style and, as much as i am a gold person, love the silver best. as for the elvin word, my son and i just finished working on a cache clue in elvin language. eyes are crossed from it - add a dot or a squiggle and the symbol becomes a different translation! super cool, though, especially if you are a tolkein fan! hope to keep up on this and get a couple. absolutely beautiful!!!
  18. What is the rarest geocoin? (IDK) What is the most paid for a geocoin? (It could be the $192.50 that the Geocoin Fairy geocoin got on e-bay this week! Let me know if that's not.) What is the shape of geocoins? (Mostly round, but many different shapes and sizes.) What does SA (Selective Availability) mean? (IDK that one either!) That coin is super great!!!
  19. personally, i love the signal frog stuff. just received the antenna topper and can't wait to get it on my truck. i will be the only person around this area to have one, for sure!!! well, i will probably be the only person around this area who knows what the heck it is, too. not very many geocachers in Poplarville, MS, unfortunately. i hope to change that eventually.
  20. picture?? i've never seen a badandy coin and am intrigued! thx.
  21. one of my favorites is the rainbow bridge coin - hefty, poignant, and beautiful! welcome to forums, M@CrO
