  1. G'day An alternative is Oasis Photo. Regards Andrew
  2. G'day Assuing you don't want to re-release it using the copy tag as BlueDuece suggested, I would look at grabbing it back from the holder and then logging a note for the graveyard, placing the TB that way. Not 100% sure if that would work but. Andrew
  3. Gee, that sounds an awful lot like what I wrote in my post to the other thread. So now we have the same advice from volunteers in two different threads. Reviewer consistency... I guess there's a first time for everything! G'day That is good to see . Andrew
  4. If you haven't violated any guidelines, they will approve your cache so what's the issue? G'day Sorry but I disagree. The guidelines are just that, guidelines and there is plenty of discussion in these forums over the interpretation of those guidelines. It is not, IMO, as black and white as you imply. Getting back to the OP point, my suggestion would be that, if you think that there might be some question over your cache or just to avoid all the work in the first place just to get it rejected, ask your reviewers first. Get the issues sorted out then place the cache. Regards Andrew
  5. G'day Can't disagree with that, but I like my cake too ... my ideal is good log and within five to seven days move. I try to move bugs within three days, seven max. Andrew
  6. G'day I agree with the OP and try very much to do this myself. Nothing worse that a "grabbed TB, will drop off ..." type of log. How hard is it to tell a little story? Photos are a bonus but I accept that not everyone has a digital camera, but writing a log ain't hard. Regards Andrew
  7. G'day Not so sure about the GC paid for them part. The beans I assume are the caches (thus cache pages). The copyright, as I understand it from the T&C, reside with the cache owner and the cache owner provides the beans to gc.com in exchange for the listing. GC.com would have no beans without the cache owners. Of course it is a mutual benefit .... but that does not change actual ownership of the beans. Just a thought ... flak jacket on :-) Regards Andrew
  8. G'day For what it is worth I understand where you are coming from and agree with your thinking .... Hang in there. Regards Andrew
  9. G'day Thanks for sharing the link/program. Will have to have a play with that! :-) Andrew
  10. Hi Another good categorising of them can be found at the Locationless Cache Checklist. Andrew
  11. Hi You could retrieve it (grab it) and then place it back into the same cache. I have seen this lots of times particularly with Travel Bug hotels where cachers take the Bugs out for the day so to speak. Regards Andrew
  12. Hi Wildrides Whilst I can't help you out on the Legend, I can suggest you look at the test reports at BackpackGearTest.org for the Magellan. The testers tested the SporTrak and SporTrak Color 2003 models over a six month period in the field. Details at BackpackGearTest.org. Regards Andrew
  13. Hi Are you talking about Travellers or the GeoTags? Regards Andrew
  14. It is the "old map" and there is a link to it on each tb page. Click on the map link and when you get the first map look above it and you will see the "old Map" link. Thank you for the very helpful and constructive answer. So refreshing. I have now found the old maps. They are great. Andrew
  15. Hi Getting a bit off-track with this question, but where does one find the link to the TB tracking map such as you have shown here? Looks intersting. Thanks Andrew
  16. Hi Geocaching Australia already does this for gc.com caches (Australia only of course). All registered forum members get a daily email (for their state) telling them what new caches are available, short description changes, long-description changes, coordinate changes etc. Really great service from my perspective. Regards Andrew
  17. One to add to the loggable (such a word) list... Washington State Geocoins. They can be logged at http://seth.dynip.com/WSGA/GeoCoin.htm. Regards Andrew
  18. But if you go through to the log itself, the full date is given. I guess the purpose on the front page is to reduce the clutter. Regards Andrew
  19. Hi I have a PQ which lists all caches within x distance. In the area marked "That (and)" I have no boxes checked. This way all caches are returned. Of course this includes inactive caches, so to include those, check the "Is Active" box. The rest should be as desired. Hope this helps. Regards Andrew
  20. Not at all, however, the archives are there ... and a lot of this can be verified. Do you have a verifable take on things which is different? Maybe you could provide a link to that or post it somewhere? Then we could reach our own informed conclusions. That said, I don't see the history linked to as being a problem, it is just a take on what has happened. Regards Andrew
  21. Hi Maybe these two links might give more reasonable historical perspective: http://geocaching.gpsgames.org/history/ and/or http://www.guysnamedkim.com/geocache/geocache_history.html. Regards Andrew
  22. G'day Sorry mate, can't help you on that one. The logic of the powered ones sometimes defies me. Oh, thanks for the free bump Regrds Andrew
  23. Why do you say that? What is wrong with bidding on Travel Bug tags for example? Yes. Regards Andrew
  24. Thanks for that. That would be a special tick indeed. Sadly the cache does not appear to be there anymore. Andrew
  25. Hi I guess each to their own, but I am planning to find a multi-cache which will take me four days of walking. It was set up as a four-wheel drive only cache, but I am going to turn it into two, two day circuit walks. I aslo have some weekend hike cache hides planned for the upcomming winter (our bushwalking season). Of course I don't expect a lot of finds on these ones. Regards Andrew
