  1. I was minding my own business, enjoying the lovely surrounding views and the cool night air as the kwvers! and I made our way to nearby:

    Santee Cache series.....#2 ??? (GC1CYBQ)

    :P Then I saw THIS ...

I did my best to take a decent picture, but all I had was my iPhone ... and I'm not much of a tarantula fan, if ya know what I mean; so I might have been a lil' shakey. When Mister kwvers! began touching it with a stick ... I thot I was going to freak out! :P or maybe I did?

    Tarantulath are your friendth.

Must be tarantula season! Just found this one in MTRP this morning.

  2.

    Soooooooooooooooo, who has more than 354 DNF'S ?????????????? :D:D

Are tennis shoes considered 'stylish shoes' ?

    Splashette :D

383 DNFs - count 'em and weep. :D

We only have 165 DNFs, but we only have 1/3 of your cache finds, so our RODNFs (rate of DNFs) make you look like eagle-eyes! :D

This really needs to be expressed as a ratio of finds per dnf, in which case Jahoadi and John don't come close to measuring up to my spectacular rate of dnfs.

    J&J -7500 finds/ 600dnf = 12.5 finds per dnf. Not Bad!

    Me 936 finds/ 143 dnf = 6.54 finds per dnf = dnf King!

  3. Did anyone else read the article in the UT this morning about the Sycamore Landfill? Looks like we may have a new summit in the making right next to cache-filled Spring Canyon. Don't know about the rest of you, but that may dampen my enjoyment of the area just a bit. Link.

  4. 04.gifHappy Fathers day all you Dads out there

63.gif It's your day to do what you want. I went Caching What about you 812.gif156.gif and tonight is pizza night. 89.gifkok007.gif

Well certainly I went caching. Did the Sandy Creek Cowboy series w/Gratefuldad116 and a new cacher, HIKERFREAK. What a fun and creative series but I think the new guy is going to be spoiled now. Should have started him off with lamp post caches and guard rail caches first. Happy Fathers Day to all.

:o That is a great series. I tweaked my back again so I stayed home and watched Tiger Woods almost pull off a win today at the U.S. Open. Then I watched my daughter's softball game. They won 30-4! Woo Hoo! It was a nice day! Happy Father's Day to all you caching Dads! :D

Happy Father's Day! Like, Dick said, we went a cachin'! Wondering what I should do tomorrow? Dunno...maybe go hide another cache on my regular running trail :( .

  5. Snake and I have concluded that SDCET has gotten soft and lazy. It's been a couple weeks and there's still no find on La Grenouille, and only one team (Toby's Gang) has found the whole series (sans The Frog) we placed in the Santa Ysabel Open Space Preserve over Memorial Day weekend. Wassup with that?!? There's about a dozen caches out here to be bagged, and the atmosphere is quite bucolic. Plenty of room for more random containers to fall off your backpacks, as well. In fact, there's an entire loop trail yet to be explored...

Julian is a bit of a drive, too. You should have done it before I took my class to 6th grade camp. :)

  6. I'm going to be starting down by the steel bridge off of 94 and running into the hills toward 1/2 way ATW if anyone wants to join me. You must be running or biking slowly to keep pace! Starting at 5:30ish. Don't suppose I'll get too many replies with this one, though.

You're in the wrong forums; the Runner's forums is over here. :P:P .

Be safe and watch out for them rattling critters.

But the runners don't like it when I want to stop for caches :(

  8. We hope to see you guys at this Flash Mob event. May 20th, Balboa Park, 9:00 - 9:15.

We could still use 2 more volunteers. A videographer (we've got the camcorder) and a public relations person (who will hand out fliers and tell muggle about geocaching).

    Here's the link:

We have synchronized with 19 other Flash Mob Cache events around the world. We'll be compiling pictures and a roster from all the events and see what the total is!!

    Come be part of it!!!

Oh, and we'll be givin' somthin' away ... 'cause we really want you to show up :(

Please contact us at podcacher@gmail.com to let us know! Thanks!

I'd be happy to point your camera for you if you still need someone.

  9. This thread has made some interesting reading. As for me, my name came from a t-shirt I used to have, as a grateful dead fan and a father of 2 now, it just made sense. Of course without the number gratefuldad was already taken. The 116 is my daughter's birthday.
