  1. A couple years ago we were going after a cache behind a restaurant about 250 feet away. As we approached the path between two retention ponds, we looked to the left and saw a Police K9 Officer with his German Shepard come out of the woods about 100 yards away. Then a Police car with lights flashing come up behind us. We explained what we were doing and he was not impressed. He just said we need to find another place far away to geocache. The Police were chasing a fugitive who was armed and dangerous in the woods we were about to enter. We made tracks out of there and haven't been back since. :o
  2. This is probably not a record but, Susan and I submitted a new cache for approval (GC3MD7W) yesterday. It was submitted, approved, and found within 24 minutes. We are stunned at the how quickly this happened. We hid this cache in honor of our nephew, who is visiting from Kentucky. Timmy is enjoying his new found activity.
  3. We grabbed 16 caches on a beautiful day in NE Florida on 10-10-10. Unfortunately we had to temporarily disable one of our caches as it came up missing. I'm guessing someone liked the camo job I did on a lock and lock container. We'll replace it soon with one that is less expensive. Sammy and Stone
  4. I don't even try. There are people here that live for FTF's. Whatever makes there boat float I guess.
  5. I marked the TB as missing and removed the images until I can figure out how to modify it to where the tracking number is not visible. Thanks Deuce The image has been modified and the tracking number smudged out as you suggested. Thanks again.
  6. I don't understand why I should smudge out the tracking number of my TB? Please explain.
  7. The wife and I are relatively new to Geocaching. We purchased 2 TBs, activated them and dedicated to things we love. One for our grandsons and the other to Veterans, both past and present. The TB for our grandsons is missing. The cache we placed it at (Jacksonville, Fl) has been visited 3 times and the cachers stated was not in the cache. The veterans TB is traveling in SC where we released it. We were given a Geocoin by a friend and placed it in a cache at a park not far from our home. That cache has been visited a dozen times and no one has reported grabbing it. I emailed 3 of the cachers and they stated it wasn't in the cache. So the wife and I decided we will not release another TB or GC in this part of Florida. Apparently there are several from this area missing. I guess honesty is not on some Geocachers list of personal characteristics.
  8. We released our first TB (in honor of our grandsons) and it too seems to be missing. The cache was logged about a week after we placed it. Another Geocacher logged his visit about 3 weeks later and reported finding no TB in the cache. We will go check it in the next few days. Hopefully the Geocacher who took the TB will log it soon. We have no intention of releasing the TB copy. This TB destinations were to the hometowns of our grandsons, one in Florida and one in Pennsylvania.

  10. Wifey and I have been Geocaching for a few months. This passed weekend we went camping in Orlando, Fl to visit family and friends and decided to grab a few caches while there. We were able to find four caches Sunday around midday. We just bought a new Motor Home and we were itching to take it out on our first camping trip. Any future camping trips will have several time slots set aside to go geocaching. Camping and Geocaching are great pasttimes and combining the two doubles the fun.
  11. If your wife says: Honey, I don't think it's a good idea to attach that transmission to a travel bug. You might be a Geocacher.
  12. The wife and I geocache on the weekends and use the 60CSx and we enjoy it. It's very accurate and has great features. I like the downloading capabilities. I also have a Garmin 72 which is a real pain in the neck compared to the 60. SammyandStone
